Added. Will you please not add any new altcoins to the site? The crypto world is becoming a joke with all these new alts every other day. BTC was on the verge of mainstream adoption; seems to be regressing as a result of the thinning of users trying to each grow their own altcoin community rather than advancing BTC. |

I understand your concern, but some altcoins do offer advantages over Bitcoin as far as betting is concerned, and therefore we do plan to accept a few more selected altcoins. Take Dogecoin for example. It features smaller transaction fees. The fee to transfer Dogecoins is just 1 DOGE, which is equal to approx. 0.0000005 BTC compared to the Bitcoin fee of 0.0001 BTC, making it the best coin to bet with micro stakes at DirectBet. It also features faster confirmations, so when you play with Direct Dice for example, you have to wait a few seconds after the dice roll to receive your winnings while when betting with Bitcoin you have to wait several minutes on average. That being said, Bitcoin will remain our top priority. You may have noticed that we first solved all Bitcoin delivery issues before adding Darkcoin support. We will be quite liberate in adding altcoins to the poll but much more selective on which ones we decide to accept. |

It is very easy (compared to bitcoin) to double spend a transaction when you are dealing with most altcoins, DOGE included. A potential attack would work something like the attacker would allow winning bets to confirm in the final chain while any loosing bets would get double spent. If you ever look at a DOGE (or most other altcoin block explorers) you will see that they often have very long orphan chains |

Hey DirectBet,
First of all: I love your site. It's great!
I do have a little issue with it though. I noticed the odds 'Ajax over 1.5 with the odds of 1.35. I liked it, so I sent my BTC. When it arrived, the odds dropped to 1.34, so my bet was not confirmed. I changed the minimum odds to 1.34, but it still didn't confirm. It appeared that the odds dropped to 1.31.
How does it come that the odds drop exactly at the point I wanted to place my bet? Now I don't say there is a bot changing the odds, but it looks weird.
Edit: after my bet if confirmed, the odds went up to 1.33

How does it come that the odds drop exactly at the point I wanted to place my bet? Before confirming your bet, our automated betting system queries for the most up to date odds. Coincidently, the odds changed by the time you changed the minimum required odds. It was just a rare coincidence and had nothing to do with your particular bet. You will notice that just as likely it can go in your favor, i.e. the odds might be higher than ordered in which case your bet will confirm at the higher odds. Sometimes the odds fluctuate although there was no justification to the drop in odds in this case and therefore I changed the confirmed odds of your bet to 1.35. |
