Do people still care about Counterparty tokens or has everybody left to go over to the cool kid's party?

Anyway, I recently made a flowchart with way too many arrows. If the below looks interesting head over to: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2048120.msg20408968#msg20408968

"There should not be any signed int. If you've found a signed int somewhere, please tell me (within the next 25 years please) and I'll change it to unsigned int." -- Satoshi

How can we summarize Counterparty's key strengths vs Ethereum to a newcomer?

- Powered by the BTC blockchain
- Huh
- Huh
- Huh

Also, is Counterparty a viable/attractive platform for ICOs? Are there any planned?

Also, is Counterparty a viable/attractive platform for ICOs? Are there any planned?

- Same address format as BTC
- Very secure (has worked like clockwork since 2014)
- Easy to integrate with BTC (direct BTC trading in DEX, libraries, open source code, wallets, etc)
- Existing infrastructure (wallets, block explorer, exchanges that list XCP can easily add any new project)
- Several wallets. Some are open source and designed to be customizable.

Counterparty is perfect for ICOs. Since it uses BTC addresses it's very convenient to raise funds w.o. registration, downloading a script, etc. Simply send BTC to address -> get token in return to same address.

My suggestion is to create an off-chain version of the DEX that settles periodically to reduce fees and allows for instant transactions.

I would contribute towards this.

It's very doable. Free, instant order placing can be offered by a 3rd party market maker. Signed orders are generated locally and sent to the market maker. He scans all orders, updates the order book in real time, and broadcasts only matching orders. Unmatched orders are deleted, i.e. never broadcast to the BTC network.

The market maker can charge some fees for their services, thus a business opportunity.

https://counterpartytalk.org/t/70-000-donated-to-counterparty-how-best-to-spend-it/3553

$70,000 donated to Counterparty - How best to spend it?

https://counterparty.io/donate/2

The Counterparty General Fund (18BfbQ8kXcL8dwjYmX5fhyZs1YefxLFHG92) holds
* 5800 XCP ($61,000)
* 2.6 BTC ($9200)

The Counterparty general fund will be used at the direction of the Counterparty Foundation (after a vote) and are used for initiatives which advance Counterparty forward.

I'm reaching out to the community to hear what YOU think is the best way to spend these funds.

Help with development and advertising of the Rare Pepe Party project- which looks real promising in terms of usage and popularity upon release.

This is a very nice feature if implemented correctly. I know many users who don't want to trade on the Dec because of the listing fees and fear of no liquidity to fill the order. Good times are coming then!

Counterparty is a really undervalued platform. I believe that both the XCP and the tokens underneath can be traded at higher prices, and even though it may not take the place of Ethereum, it will climb up on the coinmarketcap list in 1-2 years.

I have 7.40000000 XCP on address 1DxzwX4qC9PsWDSAzuWbJRzEwdGx3n9CJB
You can see the balance here:
https://counterpartychain.io/address/1DxzwX4qC9PsWDSAzuWbJRzEwdGx3n9CJB
As far as I know this is around $70

You can take these funds. To do it you should create a counterparty wallet on
https://wallet.counterwallet.io/ (if you do not have one)
and import the private key for address 1DxzwX4qC9PsWDSAzuWbJRzEwdGx3n9CJB
L5HV2GiosXifcmijGCpFWdYiMRuXh4x4JVK29urGjfAWyasBYoDX

Good luck for the first sweeper !

you could have left some BTC in this address. it would be easier to sweep. although i just tried it.

why are you doing this?

well, now i know why this account is doing this. it is just a scam

DEX, works just fine. Are you using xcpdex.com? It's a 3rd party site, currently not working.

Use Counterwallet instead

I'm just wondering why good solid projects like XCP can recover the price from a big group, it has such big potential and product. Sometimes can't find answers why scam and useless projects grow so fast...

I also sure that it will rise simply didn't expect that it will fall that badly, especially when the project looks so solid and professional, not that bs which we see popping up every day.. Embarrassed
