Judging by the hundreds of BTC that were burned in the last hours of the burn period, the market price is probably higher than 1000 XCP/BTC.

One way to think of it is: if the burn period was still open and the return for burning 1 BTC is now 900 XCP, would people still burn? What about 800 XCP? 100 XCP?

I think people would stop burning somewhere between 1000 XCP and 100 XCP for now. It's up to the market to figure out what that cutoff point is.

Damn good point!

I also think well see sth. in between, price rising slowly with time until a client with GUI shows up.

Then god olny knows...  Grin

I think you're wrong:

MSC: $128,000,000 marketcap / 560,000 coins = $228/coin

XCP: $128,000,000 marketcap / 2,650,000 coins = $48/coin

Assuming the same initial marketcap.

So we already can say, XCP is the silver of MSC (while actually delivering working code already)?

Ok, xcp market price is established at .01 btc
Over 4btc sold and going fast
It seems a lot of people didnt burn
I asked in nxt forum for adding support of xcp/btc and xcp/nxt, hopefully one of the exchanges will add xcp

Now that initial market price is established, now it is time to better communicate what xcp can do.
I am willing to write text for wiki, but i am still very unclear on the betting, dividends, etc

Is there any clear description on all the cool things xcp does? I think distributed exchange is nice, but more mileage out of the unique features as there will be no resistance to go up against

Don't always assume long term success, sell some during the initial demand hype, and keep the rest.

I am looking to buy PM me.

So is there a way/place/thread to buy and sell XCP/BTC ? Or are we going to setup a google doc now like early days of mastercoin ? Should we set it up now that the burn is over ?
Do people need to run the counterpartyD to send XCP ? I assume they don't need it to recieve XCP.

I guess we can contact pouncer or maxmint, they already have experience running the order book and doing escrows for MSC.

I am trying to install the Counterpartyd client on a Windows machine.  I have followed the instructions: http://counterpartyd-build.readthedocs.org/en/latest/BuildingFromSource.html#on-windows.  I am at the "Running from Source" step, but I get the following error in the cmd.exe box:

++++++++
C:\counterpartyd_build>C:\Python32\python.exe run.py server

Traceback (most recent call last):
   File "C:\counterpartyd_build\dist\counterpartyd\counterpartyd.py", line 397, in <module>
                int(config.RPC_PORT)
ValueError: invalid literal for int() with base 10: ''

During handling of the above exception, another exception occurred:

Traceback (most recent call last):
   File "C:\counterpartyd_build\dist\counterpartyd\counterpartyd.py", line 400, in <module>
raise Exception("Please specific a valid port number rpc-port configuration parameter")
Exception: Please specific a valid port number rpc-port configuration parameter

++++++++

Does anyone know what I am doing wrong?

I am so excited to get Counterparty installed!!!

Can someone please help troubleshoot this error message?

Official Counterparty Forums are
live!

We understand the transition to the official forum will not be immediate, and we will do our best to assure that it is as smooth as possible. Having said that, we believe that the Counterparty community has already become too large to stay well organized on the main bitcointalk thread, and having multiple threads on bitcointalk inevitably fragments the community. We hope that having a dedicated forum will give us the space needed for the project and community to grow while also keeping the community cohesive.

Many thanks to the community for all of its support and involvement throughout the burn period.

I'm on it.

I pushed a hotfix to the master branch, but develop should have been fine. But Blockscan is stuck, and I thought that it was running on develop...

If you're getting the error, what branch are you on?

Is there a simple way to confirm my XCP balance?  I am reindexing my BTC wallet and still having technical problems with Counterparty but would like to have some peace of mind that my burn worked and what # of XCP I received.
