Do you still have problems with counterwallet.io original server?
Does counterparty have any plans to lower transaction costs in the future?

I am looking for signature campaign Wink pm me

Transactions must be included in a block to be properly completed. When you send a transaction, it is broadcast to miners. Miners can then optionally include it in their next blocks. Miners will be more inclined to include your transaction if it has a higher transaction fee.

Counterwallet works fine. It happens from time to time that one of the two servers (Counterparty or Coindaddy server) does not work. However, the problem usually lasts only a short time. Just use the other available server. I never noticed that both servers were not available at the same time.

Agreed with you it happened very often mostly Counterwallet remain down but Coindaddy woks more better. I don't think there is any issue to use to Coindaddy wallet if Counterwallet goes down. I mostly use Coindaddy which is good option.

Wasup guys

Was in the telegram rooms, the guy who has the pinned msg angry at Jdog is an idiot and banned me, whoever that is. Its the room with 2k members, other one with Jdog in it is 1k.

Anyway, with the poloniex news about delisting it woke me up to some things I wanted with xcp for a while but didnt message anyone except Jdog (sometimes you see his name on github related to xcp and the news letter), and Christian Moss (CM) (dev on xcp, LN, and other stuff on twitter).

Anyway, ive always loved xcp, but theres some things I want to see done and Im not sure I can do it, but I can ask those ppl who know, or who have experience, apologies, Im a noob in programming (and other things Cheesy )

Some time ago CM created https://ledger-cp.herokuapp.com/, a page where you can use your ledger nano (make sure firmware updated) and chrome (opera didnt work though its supposed to) to access your btc, xcp, and assets from one page. It communicates with indiesquare api to send assets or btc. Then using pages that already swap small amounts of ltc, vertcoin, and other alts for bitcoin. I was thinking, why cant we use this to make an actual dex to compete with the scamcoin exchanges? Ie instead of counterwallet (CW) page, where you type your privkey (yikes) every time, just use the HW wallet to sign in, and access all those currencies on the ledger nano directories to send/receive etc?

If it was done over segwit enabled coins (CM mentioned to me on twitter its already possible now - I dunno how not a programmer) using swaps, I guess we would need reserves to cover these swaps and cash outs, similar somewhat to https://www.hazama.indiesquare.me/ (Ive messaged them a few momments ago).

Or perhaps just have all that over the xcp layer and settled on btc chain in the op_return space as it is already? Only issue is like btc, its slow.

All in all, this might just be me waking up to the poloniex delist and saying, what can I do to make an update thats impressive. I know btc has LN, I know it has satellite comms up and all that, but to be honest, I like to trade other currencies, in the past 5+ years, that has never changed in me, I love alts, so why not have a way that we control the keys and can do it simply. CP has been around a long time, and has made asset collection fun. Lets keep the development moving forward as a community of volunteers. I may not have much programming experience, but if anyone would like to reach out to me on how we can get some of these actions done (or even say hey Al, thats all BS, its not going to work , go to eth to do that) please go ahead. I see ppl in the telegram saying whos the CEO of the CP association?? lol, the answer is there is none, so its up to random anons on the internet to get ppl together and moving (and saying that countless hours of dev and other work are done every week by the 2 guys Ive mentioned above.). "Ok Mr bagholder spotted!" Yah, ive got a bunch of xcp, and xcp works without exchanges because its already an exchange, maybe now well actually get some more vol on the dex (sadly I cant place the order from my ledger, I need to transfer to my other CP address with the privkey - unless someone can tell me how).

Im on twitter @Noobincrypt, and here with Noobinscrypt.

Thanks
Al

Well, XCP asset BCY delisting was the first warning sign, only a matter of time until Bittrex follows Polo with the delisting of XCP. No Volume, no development, just dead. Fact that XCP is in space for years wont help either.

True... Last month Bittrex delisted Augmentors Databits (DTB), and one of the main reasons for delisting, was DTB being a Counterparty token! I wondered what is wrong with being a Counterparty token, and though there was no specific reason noted - the high fees were mentioned. There was an opinion Bittrex pays for XCP token withdrawal out of their own pockets (because fees in BTC are very high, but the price of tokens itself is very low), and if the trading volume for a token is low, Bittrex just loses money by keeping such tokens listed.

If the problem with the high TX fees remains unaddressed, XCP is going to become a thing of the past very soon... despite of being a pioneer in its space Undecided. Token developers will leave XCP like rats fleeing a sinking ship. Basically some were doing it already for the last few years.

... this space is not for rent ...

Typically, delisting occurs when the costs of maintaining a network is more than the trading volume of fees charged. This means that if this is the case for Counterparty, then the delisting of Counterparty (XRP) also affects all tokens associated with the project/network.

Sic transit gloria mundi.

Bittrex as always is doing a great job at providing a coup de grâce. Pretty fast this time.

Shame on XCP developers (btw is there still anyone in that role..?).
What next? counterwallet.io going offline..?

That's no surprise. The volume of Counterparty is consistently low and the fees incurred by the exchanges are far from covering the costs of maintaining network integration. Unfortunately there has not been a real development at Counterparty for a long time and it does start to lead a shadowy existence. I see no other way than try to get listed on small  exchanges.

What a bad news,
I would like to write about necessary changes in Counterparty, but it seems it is too late and this coins is almost  dead.
We need a way to make maintaining XCP node easier, we need a light client, too.. We need a way to make xcp transactions cheaper etc..
I am afraid none of the above is likely to be done Sad

Its not dead. It technically won't die until bitcoin is dead, because it is also bitcoin.

What would be a real bummer is if the counterwallet servers went down.

I followed this thread since near its very beginning, and people were always pretty pissed off here.

And for good reason. Since November 2014, its price in terms of bitcoin has pretty much only gone down, especially starting January 2018. Think... having to destroy bitcoins in order to get XCP... The idea seems ludicrous now.

Unlike most other coins, it hasn't started to come back up, and its mainly due to the fact that its just a lot easier and cheaper to create and move tokens on different networks these days.

Back in the day, Counterparty was the first of its kind. I thought it was going to be a smash, but outside of the whole "Rare Pepes" thing, it just never really caught on. Ever since Ethereum has been in the game, people go elsewhere to create and trade tokens.

Having to place an order on the bitcoin blockchain for an XCP token is what I think was its least attractive part.

It was a brilliant idea, but just never found its place in terms of viable use cases. In any case it will never die so long as you can trade XCP on its own DEX.
