There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, which will follow the rules of the network no matter what miners do. Even if every miner decided to create 1000 bitcoins per block, full nodes would stick to the rules and reject those blocks.

Why do some need special nodes etc to make the wallet sync yet others like me and my boss are both using the one that was from the main page and not had one issue syncing? What im asking is what causes it to work for some but not others?

WORKING MAC OSX WALLET

Wallet: coinyecoin-qt.dmg (VirusTotal)

MD5 50e7d06f4ef84d1138bc9cc99f448082 coinyecoin-qt.dmg
SHA1 653491d3e83f42f8392fb213951285a91ba75207  coinyecoin-qt.dmg

FYI Mac users, create a coinyecoin.conf in ~/Library/Application Support/CoinyeCoin/ and put the addnode lines into it.

Cheers

I'm rather pissed off and am not motivated to bring it back online. I could really care less to be honest. I might rm -rf the server.

Yes, 'delete' all our coins, sounds like the perfect solution!! What fuckin planet are you on man???

And unfortunately I had to leave the house 10 minutes after launch time, so did not have time to setup a wallet with auto-withdrawal. I just trusted it would be ok for a day.

I understand that you are getting a lot of flack over this, but this isn't the first time there have been problems with your pool. The Clock coin launch didn't go so well either, and despite you saying you would 'make it right' with everyone, I've PMed you twice, and called you out in threads multiple times, and you still haven't paid out, but instead replied 'I must not have seen your messages.'

Also, your endless anger and outbursts and general hatred (and now threats to destroy all coins) towards everyone who is just confused and wanting to know what is going on isn't helping matters.

Maybe running a pool just isn't for you??

Its because people from different locations on the planet might have problems finding other people running the wallet on this network. Specifying the exact node addresses helps them to make connections faster and sync the data.

user spork985

This pool admin has robbed a lot of us from our mined coins. All I want is for him to reactivate the website, and stop threatening to erase it so that I can get my coins out.  I am not sure if he realizes the hell that will unleash on him if he does not do the right thing.

Witch hunt put on hold.  Hopefully he will do the right thing.

This is a UK based VPS by the way... and you can mine with it if you like. I'll shut up about it now.

You can answer that yourself pretty easily. We know that they premined a significant amount - I think around 1200 blocks or 800M coins. If you had risked legal action and spent all the effort getting news stories written about your coin, would you just sit on your ass or would you be trying to get your coins on an exchange? You can't scam profit off a coin if it's not worth anything!
