To build and run the daemon on Linux do you need an old version of Linux or was its last update recent enough that it can build and run on versions of Ubuntu later than Bionic (18.04 LTS) ?

I run a lot of coins that don't build on versions later than Bionic but no longer run any versions of Linux older than Bionic.

To run with it I would need a lot of it, twice as many as number of tokens of it I want to issue...

Though if no-one (hardly) is mining it, and only with CPUs not GPUs, I can set a core mining it a few months or years to get started, IF it is still minting?

Or we can maybe build it a treasury by me selling some other things for it using a value for it based on how much stuff it already bought that way for its treasury, basically have it buy some stuff for treasury then recalculate it value based on so-far treasury to buy more suff for treasury and so far, hopefully not building calculated-from-treasury value too far above whatever price its users are able to sustain its buy-side at on spot markets...

I have the windows client running no issues, but that is not saying a lot.

Getting you the coins would be the tough part, I have a couple of hundred million but against the 13 billion that are out there it's a rounding error.

Treasury system is basically market cap in reverse: rather than multiplying current price of a single unit by number of units minted we divide total value of treasury by number minted to compute a value per unit.

So treasury is basically an actually in existence market cap worth of "reserve assets" rather than a merely theoretical vapourware market cap.

Looks like we'd only need 111553694.40000000 satoshis worth of treasury to give each and every NDL a computed value of 1/25000th of (200 satoshis aka one DOGE).

EDIT: I have created an NDL Reserve account and an NDL Slush Fund account on HORIZON, but HORIZON's block explorer ( https://horizon.blockspotter.org/ ) seems to be a day or more behind currently; I have posted to current HORIZON announce thread ( https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2197968.msg65754452#msg65754452 ) hopefully alerting its admin of that glitch.

EDIT2: I have given the NDL treasury (Reserve account) on HORIZON five "shares" of General Financial Corp (GFC), note that I put "shares" in scare-quotes and only on the HORIZON platform in order to make sure everyone always keeps in mind they are not "securities" just in-game assets that in the game function similarly to how shares function on the planet known as Earth. Their computed in-game value is shown in the Latest Rates include-file as sGFCrate. Tonight when start of month calculation runs this ought to result in a computed value for NDL (NDLrate in the file once calculation completes and file is uploaded) of somewhere around a 20th of the "1/25000 of a DOGE" value discussed previously. That should give room for "price discovery" on "spot markets" to start pushing the spot market prices up above the calculated value hopefully yielding the coin some profits with which to start increasing its treasury, thus its calculated value, if indeed the spot markets prove capable of establishing prices even as high as this deliberately low initial calculated value...

Okay, I have created the asset HZNDL on the HORIZON platform, asset-ID 10631899029990721072

Since the NDL explorer says almost 14 billion NDL exist I created the HZNDL asset as having 14 billion units (tokens), however as usual with the assets issued on HORIZON that just sets an absolute limit to how many of the token there can ever be; the tokens are not considered actually "issued" until they leave their issuing-account, so basically however many less than 14 billion remain in the issuing account shows how many have actually been issued. The issuing account is NHZ-TXTQ-FGNP-JQJM-8CMBH

Because the Galactic Milieu currently has over 100,000 real on their own blockchain NDL coins and our policy is to only issue half as many tokens as we have actual coins only fifty thousand HZNDL have been issued; they were issued to NDL's Slush Fund account which as noted earlier is account NHZ-LZE9-HL5L-GUGD-H72ZU

Next step will be for NDL to move some number of HZNDL from its Slush Fund to the "Stellar Holdings" account on HORIZON so that NDL tokens can be issued on the Stellar platform corresponding one-to-one to the HZNDL tokens placed into the Stellar Holdings account...

This method of doing it allows HORIZON to record total number of a thing that has been issued across all platforms, by having a Holdings account per each other platform used so that by looking on HORIZON one can see from the contents of the Holdings accounts how much of what has been issued onto other platforms. So far Stellar Holdings is the only such Holdings account but the method enables more platforms to come into use in the future.

HZNDL has been implemented as having only two decimals, because HORIZON has some limitations as to how many decimals in total one can have between the two sides of a trading-pair.

Canvassing players regarding the idea of a civilisation whose currency will be Noodly Appendage Coin it was pointed out that such a hypothetical civilisation might, like the Ixians, possibly be also a good candidate for a civilisation at least some of whose citizens are followers of Ixalovh; in other words might it be the case that in the worlds of Crossfire-RPG the name of His Or Her Noodliness might be Ixalovh... ?

Source code for my websites is at another of my houses so I don't know how long it might end up being before I get to that house to update the info pages and such on the websites, a glitched ethernet switch in that other house has cut me off from remotely accessing the machine the website sourcecodes are on.

45000 HZNDL were moved to the Stellar Holdings account on HORIZON, the Issued-to account on Stellar opened a 45000 NDL trust line trusting the issuing account, so that the issued-to account's trust line size serves on Stellar to track how many total were issued by having the number it trusts the issuer for equal the total issued onto Stellar, and the issuing account sent 45000 NDL to the issued-to account which then transferred it to the Stellar account of a character named Noodles who resides on the Server1.Knotwork.net (PTE aka Play-to-Earn) Crossfire-RPG server to help and guide any other NDL-users who choose to partake in play-to-earn.

Noodles then proceeded to place all 45000 NDL on sale on the Stellar platform.

Meanwhile also a NDL-buy-side account was set up and the bottom end of a XLM/NDL buy-side order-book set up rising almost to the Noodles character's lowest priced sell offer.

The Galactic Milieu now holds over 200k real NDL on NDL's own blockchain thus has now issued another 50k HZNDL, bringing total HZNDL issued to 100k, on the HORIZON platform.

The new 50k NDL went to NDL's Slush Fund, from whence NDL sent 45k of them to the Stellar Holdings account, so the Issued-to account on Stellar increased its trust line for NDL to 90k, 45 k was issued to it from the issuing-account, which the issuing-account sent onward to the account of a second paladin on the Crossfire-RPG PTE server (Server1.Knotwork.net), this one a Northman named Noodly (the first paladin, Noodles, is a serpentman).

Noodly has proceeded to place a bunch of buy offers for NDL, using XLM, offering to buy 100k NDL per buy-offer.

(Which since only 90k NDL have thus far been issued onto the Stellar platform is forward-looking on Noodly's part.)

The Milieu only issues tokens representing half the real on their own blockchain coins it has, so basically it is "200% reserve" rather than "fractional reserve".

If everyone who has real NDL is just out to "dump" them though rather than to build them a strong enough buy-side to absorb all "dumps" and keep on building, likely the NDL token on Stellar will also start having its price trashed as fast as people manage to trade in their real coins for tokens-to-dump...

There were two Paladins of Ixalovh (that world's name for The Noodly One) on the PTE server (Server1.Knotwork.net) waiting to help and guide any followers of The Noodly One who choose to join them there, but one got killed by water elementals of all things and so far although his corpse has been rescued arrangements have not yet been made to have a resurrection done. But there is still a presence, albeit likely not strong enough yet to earn enough fast enough to counter serious attempts to trash the price of NDL by "dumpers"...

EDIT3: The trouble with using a Proof of Work coin as your currency is that doing so defeats the "this currency cannot be counterfeited" aspect of cryptocurrencies, because of course all it takes to "counterfeit" it is to have hash-power and not be an official agency of the treasury-department of the Civilisation, Clan, Corp or whatever whose currency is supposedly "is". Really for a currency it is best that only the official mint be able to mint it, because anyone else doing so simply dilutes the resources of the Civilisation, Clan, Corp or whatever as it ends up having to honour what amounts to counterfeit coins. Sure the Hacker Civilisation, whose agent Satoshi brought Btheir currency bitcoin to us, managed to get away with authorising anyone with enough hash-power to mint the Hacker Civilisation's currency, and evidently that Civilisation is so advanced that it has managed to "honour" its currency, bitcoin, very well indeed. But can the Pastafarians manage to do the same? Can they build their buy-side so strong that renegade/rogue hashers minting their coins and using them not to build the Pastafarian civilisation or culture or clan or religion or Corp or whatever, and its currency, stronger but, rather to "dump" them, destroying their value? While you think about that, I am off to issue more tokens as the Milieu now has quite a few more real on the blockchain NDL coins so again it can bring its total number of tokens minted up towards half the number of real specie it holds...
