Well, it doesn't look exactly like the FSM. But it's cute and has a high value of brand recognition. Any suggestions on how we could modify it into FSM direction?
The contest showed, that many people didn't recognize we are talking about the FlyingSpaghettiMonster here. I imagine it would help the coins popularity a lot if we would rename it to i.e. "FlyingSpaghettiMonster Coin" (FSM). Everybody would know what it is about and not thinking this is a coin of chinese restaurants.
What do you guys think? What does HisHolyNoodliness think?

+1 I too think the name FlyingSpaghettiMonster would say more. That makes sense, but it's a pretty long name and it's not easy to spell spaghetti for people. Could that be a concern?

Just an idea: As a lottery reward, you could also give the winners some small amount of BTC (0.001, 0.0001 or such) as a side bonus (I think the premine should cover it). Maybe it would generate more interest in this coin. People would not dump the coin quickly since it does give them a chance to win BTC, and others would buy the coin for the fun and mostly - getting the chance to win some real BTC. That would probably stabilize the coin after a few rounds and give it a nice incentive to go on.

That would probably stabilize the coin after a few rounds and give it a nice incentive to go on. That could be a good Idea. But as of today's market rates it would cost more than the full reward including the btc transaction fee. And also i do not hold the premine and i'm not the dev of NDL. it is @HisHollyNoodliness. and as of the initial idea 50% of the premine is reserved to be donated to a Science and research orgonisation. I recieved a bounty of 100k NDL from him as a bounty and an extra 250K NDL for the promo. the promo funds have been utilized in the Lottery pot itself, you could find the details in the OP of the Lottery Thread. If the current Lottery becomes a success, i'll be launching a bigger lottery and another different(still not decided) game for the promo. I'm running the Lottery free for a few Draws just to boost interest of the miners to use the coin till a proper market and game sites are established. NDL is a good coin to start for the newbs and miners with low hashing power. Right now i'm planning to open a pool and later a promo site for multiple coins including NDL. I thank the community for all the support.

I see a steady rise in the solo miners. poolofpools had like 95% of the hashrate 2 days ago. but its down to 30% now. Its good for the network.

How exactly do you solo mine? it seems like all the guides i've seen are slightly different, especially in terms of what to put in a conf/bat file. if anyone could give me a somewhat easy to follow step by step guide on solo mining, that would be awesome.

Solo mining is not very different from other scrypt coins. but anyway i'll give you the step by step guide: 1. Download the NDL wallet from the OP or here: http://www.noodlyappendagecoin.com/downloads/noodlyappendagecoinwallet.zip2. Extract the contents to "C:\Program Files (x86)\noodlyappendagecoinwallet\" 3. start the wallet and let it sync fully. 4. Exit the wallet from file -> Exit 5. go to the wallet folder "C:\Program Files (x86)\noodlyappendagecoinwallet\" and copy the file "noodlyappendagecoin.conf" and paste it in "C:\Users\User\AppData\Roaming\noodlyappendagecoin\". 6. Open the "noodlyappendagecoin.conf" file in the roaming folder, using the "Notepad". Edit the "rpcuser=user" and "rpcpassword=password" to your desired username and password 7. go to the wallet folder and right click on "noodlyappendagecoin-qt.exe" and select "create shortcut". 8. Now rightclick on the shortcut file and select properties. In the properties window edit the target option to "C:\Program Files (x86)\noodlyappendagecoinwallet\noodlyappendagecoin-qt.exe -server". 9. Now start the wallet using the shortcut file. 10. go to your cgminer folder and create a new file "ndlsolo.bat". Open the file in your notepad and add the following command "cgminer.exe --scrypt -o http://127.0.0.1:40022 -u username -p password". the username and password are same you have given in noodlyappendage.conf file. save the bat file and exit 11. start cgminer using the ndlsolo.bat file and you have started solo mining. If you find a few blocks by solo-mining consider buying some NDL Lottery Tickets Here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=432522.0

Arrrgghhhh sorry we 'as been busy me hearties. We loves the new logo and is about to go and put it in the OP now.
We likes the name as it is, but would be interested to hear feedback on it - if people really feel it's confusing, maybe a renaming could be considered.

@HisHolyNoodliness please add http://cryptorush.in in the OP under exchanges. Newbies to the coin 'll check the OP first and its not good to have the broken exchange there.

you'll get about 300K NDL at current difficulty in normal days. the payout depends on the difficulty too and NDL retargets its difficulty every hour.
