Introducing eSportsMoney: The Currency of eSports! Current Bounties 1000 ESM for a new large graphic 500 ESM for new icons 300 ESM for a new wallet loading splash Introducing eSportsMoney [ESM], inspired by competitive video gaming and the personalities surrounding this phenomenon. My goal for this currency is inspired and influenced heavily by the idea of Sexcoin, the cryptocurrency of the adult entertainment industry. My coin is also heavily influenced by Litecoin, and BBQcoin, the two coins that helped create my brainchild. The ultimate purpose of this coin is to help foster and develop the growth of professional competitive gaming around the world. That is, the main purpose of this coin is to sponsor and foster gaming events and online tournaments, as has been done recently in the StarCraft 2 scene with both Dogecoin and Bitcoin. I hope to see this coin being used for “money matches” in all types of competitive games, to be used to sponsor events, (and maybe even one day teams). But eSportsMoney is not just for the competitive gaming events, I hope that we can see people use it as a currency for gaming, such as for the buying and selling of items within DotA 2, League of Legends, CS:GO, and other games with within-game items that are of monetary value. eSportsMoney is based on BBQcoin, as mentioned before, and it is very similar to BBQcoin with a few key differences. eSportsMoney has a block size of 42 coins (the same as BQC), however the block size of eSportsMoney will be halved after 12,000,000 blocks, rather than 24,000,000 blocks which is the case for BQC. In addition, eSportsMoney has a difficulty readjustment time of 4 hours rather than 1 hour (which is the case for BQC). Of course the ports are also different, but those are listed above and there's nothing especially unique about using different ports. I would hope that this goes without saying; this is a coin with a real development team (though small) and was not created using one of the automated coin generators. I've been mining, buying, and selling cryptocurrencies for about a year now, and this is my first attempt at creating a currency. I realize that I have very lofty goals for eSportsMoney, but the community's involvement both here and from within the various eSports around, I think that we can create something of value that can further the growth of competitive gaming. There is ZERO PREMINE and I will be starting my solomining of this coin about 5 minutes after this article is posted on the Bitcointalk forum. Lastly, as previously stated the coin is being launched without an official mining pool. I don't know what to expect as far as mining results go, but I intend on mining quite a few blocks in the first few hours. I don't know what I'll get yet so I can't make any firm promises, but I will award some kind of bounty to the creator of the first ESM mining pool. In addition, anyone that produces a blockchain explorer for ESM will be similarly compensated, and the same goes for whoever can compile a Mac OS client. However, we are really looking for a developer that would like to stick with us to regularly update the Mac OS client (as the LTC client is updated). I would like to extend a very special thank you to Elbandi for helping me every step of the way with this project. It could not have been done without your help! If you have any questions, or would like to help further the development of this coin, you can contact me on Twitter @eSportsMonies or PM me. Also, feel inclined to join us on Steam, you can always find me there! Please, don't kill eSports! gl hf! esportsmoney.conf should look like this: server=1 rpcuser=username rpcpassword=password rpcallowip=127.0.0.1 rpcport=29334 daemon=1 gen=0 maxconnections=50 addnode=162.243.198.168

The blocks have been coming incredibly fast due to a large amount of mining power on the coin. The difficulty retarget time is supposed to be 4 hours because each block is supposed to come every 60 seconds ideally. However, this 4 hour time is caused by 240 block retargets. So, the blocks are getting mined exponentially faster than I expected and the difficulty is increasing because of it.
@ekrem Have you tried adding -s 2 or -s 3 to your miner? I've decreased my stales a bit by lowering the scan time.

First you need to make sure you have the esportsmoney.conf properly setup. Then, you create a shortcut to your eSportsMoney client with -server added to the end of the target. Launch eSportsMoney through this shortcut and wait for it to sync. Then point your mining hardware at yourself (127.0.0.1: 29334) and use the username and password listed in your esportsmoney.conf file. You can tell if its working correctly because it will stop working if you close the client.

I thought the ideal scan time was 1. True or False? I have -s 1 results around 50% rejects Me too 50% rejects! Matters the Expire time or we can leave as default? my expire time is 2

How do I mine this? I've only mined from a pool before. Never by myself.
Is this a valid guide to try and follow? http://cryptocur.com/litecoin/litecoin-ltc-gpu-mining/I noticed it doesn't have the add node in that guide.

That's a pretty good guide to follow but you can also use GUIminer-scrypt for simplicity. In addition, you need to create an esportsmoney.conf file like the one that is displayed on the first post of this thread, not the Litecoin one.

I've mined about 2300 so far, no rejects, just a few accepted blocks every few minutes.
I don't understand how some get so many rejects.

@buddyuno
I sent you half of a block. I have not started saving on a block explorer bounty yet, I am more concerned with making a respectable bounty for a mining pool because I think, due to the high network hashrate, that's what people want the most. Please correct me if I'm wrong, I want what's best for my brainchild.
Also, I have to go for about 2 hours, maybe less. Something came up, which absolutely infuriates me that I have to leave my baby alone for a couple hours, but I will make a post when I return. Tweet at me if you need me! @esportsmonies

Yes, at this diff rate mining pool is needed ASAP for the ones with less hashrate now but want to get on mining eSportsmoney but nevertheless a block explorer is also needed. Thank you for the 21 ESM

I would solo at that level, should see a block every (diff*constant/hash rate/seconds in hour) which for you is: 0.6 * 2^32/2000000/3600 = 0.35 of an hour.

Mr. Better sounds an awful lot like Mr. Bitter. Lol it's a play on his name for an alias =p I'm just saying, you probably don't absolutely need scoots' (literal) face for esports community adoption. I mean it's cool to use it as a fun thing but as the main coin logo?

Ya i know what you mean, it's a good gif. IMO it would be awesome if eSports Money had its own brand/logo then maybe use funny gifs and stuff like that to get the hype going, but that's just my opinion. Either way, go go eSports

Hey guys, pool broke itself over night and was down a few hours. It's back up and running now. I have lowered fees all the way down to just 0.5%, and also reduced the confirmations required before payouts down to 50 blocks to help get you guys paid faster. Sorry about the downtime, adjusted some scripts so hopefully it will restart itself if it happens again. Digipools eSportsMoney mining pool at http://198.53.169.220:4000/

Please update image of coin or set bounty for some graphics design for propagation of coin.
If you get serious marketing/propagation(i mean that it will seem the coin has some feature and won't fall into oblivion) i got friend who is boss of well estabilished quite large LAN party in Czech Republic (for approximetly 200 people!!). We could donate some eSportsMoney for tournament prices in various games so the real life gaming community knows that something like this exists!!! So we will contact gamers themself! But it has to look nice so regular gamers like it.

Yes mine is working excellent. Just make sure pool 1 is working good before you say its up again. Nothing is more irritating for an user if it points to the pool and it's not working half the time.

Honestly I think that the real market price is about 1500-2000 ESM for .1 BTC given the price of BQC (the coin that this is based on) and the fact that this one will eventually be more rare.
Also, if anyone is interested in mining this and doesn't know how, PM me or Tweet @eSportsMonies

Yes i think so too. 400K doge is ~0.1 BTC at current rate. 1500 ESM for 0.1 BTC

Ok guys, pool is now back up and running stable. Going to spend some more time working on recovery scripts so should things stop working hopefully it can restart itself. Once again, I've dropped fees down to just 0.5% as an apology for the downtime, and I have also changed settings so blocks are confirmed and credited to your mining account after 60 confirmations instead of 120 so payments will be sent much faster now. Thanks for your patience, and stay safe in the mines Digipools eSM pool http://198.53.169.220:4000

Pools can also act as nodes of course.. feel free to use the same IP as my pool (198.53.169.220) which should accept any incoming connections from clients looking for nodes. howto: In your client, goto help / debug window / console enter addnode 198.53.169.220 add then a separate entry getinfo will tell you how many connections your client currently has and what block height it is sync'd to.. as of writing, my node has block height 4566

I've started mining this one too Just wondering, we have OGC (OnlineGamingCoin) and we have ESM (eSportsMoney), if it is not good to combine efforts for example when we are trying to create games, reduce cost for both coins. Promote each other and make each other bigger and bigger.

ogc had alot of issues at start and im pretty sure it was heavilly premined which is why its gone to nothing in value once it hit an exchange. i feel this coin has had a much fairer start and would have a better chance honestly plus ogc devs dissapeared once they got their coins and could dump them on an exchange..our dev seems to actually care about this coin. its not getting much support rite now but we need to promote it and get more people mining for it to have a chance. im down to donate some esm for giveaways and whatnot, we need to start promoting this to get the hashrate above 50mh/s

Heavilly premined, mmm, it was premined as the most other coins, 1% or 1.5M coins, some of them already went for giveaway. ESM has the problem that nothing is premine, so it is very difficult to promote this one, anyway i'm mining ESM because i believe it can add value to the market and i also want to promote ESM. There are too many coins and you need to spend a lot of time to make a difference in the market place that is why i suggest somekind of work together, if ESM creates a game or so then also add OGC as payment option, and ofcourse the other way around if OGC is able to sign a deal with one customer then we will also add ESM (if the CEO of ESM agree ofcourse).

Hi all... I have a wierd behaviour: I was able to connect to luckyminer's pool for a few seconds and got registered (0.02xxx unconfirmed ESM). cgminer still runs, but neither luckyminers pool nor digipool register mynotebook is doing something.
Questions: 1) is --scrypt parameter mandatory, when I use a normal PC (have a gaming PC at home, still only one GFX, no ASIC hardware)? 2) what do i do to evaluate why my mining worker is not showing up on both pools?
Thank you!

The premine here was slight and accidental. I did not get any of the premined coined. Essentially we released a bad wallet file and someone downloaded the source code and compiled themselves a good version of the wallet. At least, this is what we think happened. I currently have a little over 4000 ESM, and I've been mining at over 1500 KH/s for days. Anyway, I wanted to let you guys know we should be releasing a new version of the client soon with updated graphics and icons!

True, but a promotion must be smart, look, you have promotions like giveaway, giveaway 1000 coins, people that already own that coin will put their wallet number, but NO NEW miners!!! I've a idea for OGC (what of course also can apply for ESM -as i'm pretty big mining it ) why not organize a jackpot? Give people a big amount of coins and they need to follow the following rules. 1. They need to mine at least 5 hours a day for 2 weeks (Hashrate doesn't matter) This support the coin and the mining pool should support us with x number of coins that they earn more because of this promotion. 2. If you completed the first rule then you can put your wallet number on the subject and then a live jackpot lottory will be done and winner takes it all.

This is not a bad idea. PM me if you get the details of this hashed out and we could maybe put something together, I'd me more than willing to donate to the prize pool. I also wanted to let you guys know that when I get home in a few hours I am going to increase the amount on the giveaway thread from 10 to 20 and revive that thread. If you want to increase the amount given away, feel free to PM me.

Why not make this permanent on the pools instead of a one time event? Like a random jackpot independant from the worker's hasrate, plus one based on the shares someone had during a day (or something like that)? So it's interesting for small ppl like me but bigger miners are interested too?

I am in talks with someone who is trying to setup a website where you can buy Steam game codes and other game-related stuff with ESM. I think that's a much bigger than a pool lottery, that and updated graphics of course!

Yes, that will be much bigger than a pool lottery, as it give people the options to really use their ESM coins, but before people will use those games they first need to be motivated to mine at ESM? So then a big lottory can help boosting NEW minners. Releasing games is one thing, and people will read it and continue reading other stuff. Having a big lottory create new miners, new people that are interested in the coin but the lottory really needs to be big!!! around 1BTC or so. If every miner give a amount of coins that can be equal to 0.01BTC then you need 100 miner to achieve this. Make a deal with the mining pool so that they support this lottory too, as they will see a increase in new miners (meaning coin will be worth more).

yes this is whats going to make this coin work..something of this nature. but first we have to have miners to back the network and second we have to be on an exchange for liquidity and have some people wanting to buy, which is why we do the giveaways and things to get miners mining and more people interested

Mining like crazy at the moment

Do i need to try? The last time i ask for OGC and MEOW to get listed to the exchange and one day later it was listed. But the question is, do we really want to get it listed now already? Better to wait and get the marketing stuff ready and then start listing, no? Now it is easy mining too

Now it is easy mining too i honestly feel we need another few days and some more promotion to get more people aware or it will just get dumped once on coined up. also we need at least 50mh/s to keep up with transactions or the network will be too slow, so we need more miners! we lso need a couple of more pools to get the hashrate spread out. pool 1 is having some issues again leaving us with just 1 other pool and thats no bueno

Correct, i see you on the top of the pool Sometimes if i'm a little less active 1. More pools 2. Try to launch a few games 3. Then it is our job to promote this like crazy We have the pools ready, we have the games ready. If the games are great then people will just mine this for playing games. For example some slots, very populair, ofcourse this website needs to be support too by us, because we need to be able to cover the winnings, so i hope that the owner of the coin is also mining his coin for this kind of support too.

I think the biggest thing will be getting that Steam game service going, which will draw in more miners. Both of these will cause a bit of growth. In addition, I am hoping to update the client graphics by the end of the week.

Good point...but the problem is that you're sooo limitted. For example i'm from belgium and if i find here a sport shop that allow us to use ESM then the number of customer are maybe 1 or 2. Or a shop in Texas, nobody will order something from Texas when you life in Florida, for example. This is a sport coin so personally i believe the main focus should be create a website like Unibet (i hope you know ) that allow us to play on sportgames. This website NEEDS to support BTC/ESM/$/€(and OGC ) so that people that didn't mine anything can change their money into ESM and also play.

Wow guys let's jump on a coin that no one gives a shit about! I think that you all know Star Citizen, the new game from the marker of Wing Commandor. He asked people to donate money to create his game, he only needed $21M and i don't know how much he has now, but i believe it was already more then $25M, now what i want to say is, create a really nice game linked to ESM and if the game is nice then your coin will be launched to. You have craftcoin here too, that is also used for gaming.

I've been talking to someone about making a Mac OS ESM client. I talked to some length with an enthusiastic individual from the forums last night and he says he will have a website that will buy Steam games with ESM within 3-4 weeks. I am also trying to find someone to setup a third pool. Another individual is working on updating the graphics, but they are pretty much finished. There were just a few very slight adjustments that I wanted before I sign off on making them the currency's new official logo/icon. Lastly, there is an exchange launching this coming week called http://coinye-exchange.com/ , and I think that we all should try to get them accept ESM. It would be nice for us to get on an official exchange before our more practical services are rolled out in the coming weeks. I think they only have an IRC channel at the moment. I specifically like this exchange because they mention they will be adding a large amount of coins, even very new coins. gl, hf!

Yes, i know about the exchange as i'm trying to get OGC also on that exchange, sometimes i really don't understand why people are investing in shitcoins and not put their hash to this coin. A lot of coins were released and some are already dead.

I didn't hype the release, I just gave it an announcement thread (which is fairly detailed) and then I started solomining until I got in talks with someone about making a pool. I think people interested in and up and coming coin can get a lot out of something like ESM.

I'm looking forward to this one, since all of the new coins these days are fast pump and dump shemes with a huge premine from the devs. This one has fair launch, no premine and the totalcoins number is fine for me, so basicly the thing it needs is a little marketing, giveaway later on the coming weeks and a proper site. The more people who start to mention it and mine it expecialy now when the diff is so low will realize that they are not waisting their time. I will be happy to see this coin in an exchange and watching how the price goes

Well yes I am mining it since the diff is so low I had 1mln tips or smth and when I saw how the price went down to 1 satoshi I just dumped them all and since then I'm looking for a good coin to start and I think this one got me today (since the epic 1rst and 2nd fail launches of aliencoin...). My mining speed is very low - 90khs so if this coin starts to build up and get to an exchange and etc. it can get really profitable for me right now at the current diff - 0.08 lol

Yeap, aliencoin was really bad, it would take ages and development would already dump all their coins on the market and let the coin die. Good, now i'm little split, mining batcoin and usdecoin. No ESM at the moment, but every day a few hours with 3000kh/s is more then enough, maybe i will regrat it later, i was mining NETcoin also when it was at 0.00001000 against LTC, and it hit 0.00150000 against LTC, so 150 times higher, and i got have mined 5600 pieces. That wpimd be a lot of money. 10LTC per day, day of 30... maybe it will happen with ESM too, nothing, and still nothing, and 6 months later still nothing and then flying to the moon

Are people just soooo lazy and think that they will earn millions by doing nothing? Pitty, i have supported this one, but now i'm moving away.
