Just sent a donation - come on people, we have only given a tiny donation so far, surely we can manage to give a lot more than 10,000 Noble for such a worthy project?
How about I make a donation from the community fund? Still around 400k left
That sounds like a good idea to me.
Just sent some Smiley
So did I Smiley

Such good people you are!

WOHOOO! Already 200k+ Nobles, which is more less 100 PLN!

(at today's nobl/btc/pln ratio: http://kryptokursy.pl/nobl)

With this, we have already passed the 77 PLN donation threshold!

Which entitles us, the Noble Community, to receive the personal kudos listed above.
Google Translated version of the Fundraising Project page:
http://bit.ly/1njPayN

Next threshold 155 PLN!

(In the meantime I'm struggling with the 6th progress bar and another updates on simplynoble.net)

Do you think we should set some Final Goal for the NobleCoin donations during the given period?  The Main project is already at 5500 PLN of 20k, but it took them only 5 days (of 40).
After 155 PLN threshold they have 222 PLN (70 USD), 333 (108 USD) and 555 PLN (180 USD).

Do you think any of them is realistic, considering that we have maybe 2-3 weeks left?
Or maybe the you prefer that I send them the amount already collected NOW (to avoid sitting on the relatively big balance myself, if you don't trust me?)

But this way we will never achieve the FAT donor status, only the series of smaller donations.
Thoughts?

Call for ideas for the remaining community fund

At this moment the community fund holds exactly 395311.73 noble. Does anybody have a good idea on how to spend this?

We have nice videos and wallet designs now. Maybe some infographics?

I would say ANYTHING FOR ANDROID. It don't have to be a full working wallet (I think it will be more expensive?).
But to hire a android developer to write a simple android app exclusively for NobleCoin.
Maybe just simple app for scanning the QR codes and cooperation with online wallet?

We need to be closer to the normal daily life!

I'm looking into Android myself, but don't even know java Sad

As a long time supporter, investor and miner of Noble I'd just like to say that the developers and community are still doing an excellent job.
Even after months of $hitcoins, pumpndump coins and 'flavour of the month' coins coming and going, Rofo and the Noble team have stayed true to the vision.  They know what is required to turn a revolutionary technology into something the world needs. Noble may just be a currency right now, but it has the potential to be an international brand (dream big)!

The current low price of Noble is unsettling. So if you are scared, now is the time to buy. No other new coin that I can find has the long term potential of Noble.

I mine Noble 24/7 and will be adding another 11 m hash Gridseed Asic to the pool soon, so for me, making Noble asic resistant is not the answer. Asics are inevitable and necessary! They run cheaply (saving massive amounts of power) and are far more efficient than GPUs will ever be.
There will be an influx of coins when the asic arms race begins, but that is only a problem if miners are stupid enough to sell for crazy cheap prices and supply exceeds demand. I mine to hold and support the infrastructure.
While I agree Noble is a great coin I'm not sure about the future of any scrypt coin when it comes to ASICs. ASICs only benefit the ASIC seller, the hardware makers in China. They presell and wont ship until its absolutely not profitable. Before that they just use it themselves to mine with it, using the hardware you PRE-PAID for. This is a known fact. Thats why all ASICs are "always LATE for shipping and months behind" because they are using the hardware and waiting for difficulty to skyrocket before they ship them to the poor buyer. Gridseed seems to be the only exception ATM.The buyer spends $4000 on a piece of hardware that just makes it harder for him and anyone else to mine. Exactly what happened to BTC. Buying a $4000 BTC miner makes you $12/day at current prices, that's BS. With the best scrypt price (LTC) at around 2% of the price of BTC how long will it take to pay for that $4000 miner? ASICs do kill mining.

GPU mining is never antiquated because its Windows based and possibilities are limitless. There will be constant new algorithms and ways to make new coins. JMHO

GPU miners are selling just as hard as asic miners. Miners are for network security and distribution (through selling) of coins. In general (there are always exceptions), miners are not "holders" of value. GPU miners are against asics because they can make less money by selling their now fewer coins.

EDIT: as reference: I do not own, nor plan to own an asic and I stopped GPU mining.

I paid 2200USD for 11,000 khashes of Gridseed equipment running for $1 per day @ 200watts, mining $30 of coins. I also have 5 x R9 280X GPUs running at 3700 khash using 1430watts and mining at around $4 LOSS per day.
The main reason I still run the GPUs is because I have a 2.6Kw PV solar system powering them. Without my solar system it would be stupid to continue GPU mining. If everyone stopped mining, the coins won't exist and the network collapses.
So to say "ASICs only benefit the ASIC seller, the hardware makers in China" is wrong. Once all the greedy GPU miners stop because they aren't getting rich, who is left to support the network? Only dedicated miners like me that embrace progress and realise you don't mine to get rich now. You mine and HOLD to get rich in years to come like with BTC.

There really isn't much of a point to argue, when we are seeing history repeating. BTC went through the exact same process and it's easily the biggest and strongest network thanks to efficient asics. GPUs just help to consume the earths resources turning electrons into heat.

New algorithms will constantly be developed to try and be one step ahead of asics (which is good for the development of cryptocurrencies), but the fact is they are just delaying the inevitable and slowing the integration of cryptocurrencies into the real world.

"how long will it take to pay for that $4000 miner?" - If I mine LTC and hold them for 5 years, chances are it took 2 days to pay off my mining hardware!

i haven't tried to sell anything, but, if it did happen , something fishy is afoot.

but seriously, if anyone has had a similar experience that would be something that would concern the entire community.

This type of stuff has been reported before on multiple sites, including cryptsy. Not sure why it happens and how often though.

I think on mintpal, things go like this; the executing price is the price that is chosen by the person who is the last to act. When there are sell orders at 29 30 and 31 sat and I fill in that I want to buy at 31, then the first coins that I buy are at 31and not at 29 ( which would be the normal procedure). But I am not 100% sure.

i could be wrong, probably am, but what it kinda looks like to me is.... the incremental jumps in hash rate, for whatever reason ( asic companies testing equipment, multipools, or whatever), it would stand to reason that the individuals involved in the huge hash rates are probably not in it for the long haul. that is to say, that with those high hash rates comes an influx of crypto currency, and it would stand to reason that ( since it would appear that they are not long term investors) it would behoove them to unload any excess or incurred gains in the interest of generating a return. also.... if the person/s involved are forward thinking enough... they could use their hardware advantages to generate a huge amount of Noble and then sell it at a loss, since they are not longterm investors they lose nothing, which will still generate a fair amount of BTC for use to then purchase more Noble when it drops to a certain level... for example... there was someone on coinex a while back that openly talked in the troll box about dumping all of his acquired Noble every so often, he did this to drive the price down to a level that he was comfortable with in order to buy in at much greater quantity. and i hate to say it... but he succeeded.

we have seen this before, and to be honest i even started mining other coins for a few days to generate some buy support to try to offset some of this, but alas my paltry sums were not adequate to do much of anything, other than teach me that i would have earned more if i had just kept mining Noble.

but as far as your question about anything wrong with Noble.... yes there is... we are not the reserve currency yet  Wink

as a community and a burgeoning economic entity we ( mainly Rofo) are lightyears ahead of the vast majority of other crypto currencies out there. check out the marketplace if you have some time or visit https://altoutlet.com/nobl and help to get this currency into circulation for everyday use.

A couple of days ago, there were some big sells, around 30,000,000 Nobles or so. The Noble rice went down from around 50 sat to 17 sats, to rise quickly again to 40 sat. As far as I can see the seller was only 1 person. The last month after the initial rise from 15 sat to 100 sat, we fall back to the range 40-65. In this area there have been a lot of ( new) buyers, I think. It could be possible these same buyers lost their patience and  sold last 2 days. This is just my guess.

Yesterday, I was thinking about getting bigger companies accepting bitcoins on board. I only know 2 guys personally, running a multi-million business. One is a big gold/silver business and the other one is a site where you can book hotelrooms. Actually, I love to talk to these guys regarding accepting NobleCoins, but these businesses are so big and aren't even accepting bitcoin. So, as far I can see, these companies are at the moment just too big, it's too early to start a talk to them.
But, I still think, everyone supporting NobleCoin should look in his/her own neighbourhood to find retailers getting NobleCoin accepted.
Rofo has an excellent long term vision.
95% ( probably more) of all existing coins will disappear, only a couple will survive. The survivers will be the most reliable ones, so for me NoibleCoin is the number 1. As long as we keep adding merchants accepting NobleCoin, this altcoin will keep growing. So the fact that I feel uneasy to appproach really big companies to accept NobleCoin is just because we are still to small at the moment (regarding markketcap).  It feels very comfortable when you want to sell a retailer a product when you are sure the product is very good, so on this part I have zero problems contacting merchants.
For myself, I made the decision to approach the gold/silver-dealer whenever NobleCoin passes 100 sat again.
My other friend with the hotel-site business, also likes to invest. When NobleCoin passes 100 sat again, I am going to talk to him that he has a nice business opportunity, first buying Nobles and then accepting them in the business. Imagine, I am talking about a site like bookings.com but then on a national platform. Thousands and thousands of people are booking hotelrooms everyday and all these people will see NobleCoin as a payment option. A merchant like this is of so much value for us and I would like to ask everyone to look for merchants like these.

BTC is rising, many sell alts to bank on the rise.

It makes no sense at long as you're not converting to fiat...
You hold 1000 coins worth 1btc.
If the rate between alt/btc doesn't change then you will gain in usd terms just as much , without converting.

Furthermore , most of the times when btc spikes a bit the lats follow the trend.

Back to noble , I have no idea why a coin like this is dropping.
Probably it's best to just hodl and do our best.
