Doomed to see the future and unable to prevent it

The way I see it, the Noble team has produced as much if not more than other coins, but the reason that it has failed to be recognised is that the price never reflects the news so there is no media coverage that is linked with the big price rise.

It has to be intentional that someone is trying to keep the price down, and it is a shame. As is all the FUD that is being spread at the moment.

Fortunately the core supporters of Noble can see past the price into the future and can see how great this coin is going to be. Essentially they rock!

I personally think we need to make a big deal out of the block halving (I know it is a long way away yet) and try to get the news out there.

OK, so your saying that we should start yelling "Hey everyone eventually the flood of coins will half"?

Instead of taking a pro-active approach and making the flood of coins stop?

Well, at least we both agree that one of the main issues is the flood of cheap coins.

OK guys I'm off to the casino for a few days. And just so I can put in perspective what my stake is currently in Nobl, When I get to the casino just 2 Pre-Flop raises is what I have in Nobl. I really should not waste time trying to persuade people to my point of view but I can't help but want this coin to succeed in a big way. Maybe it was the way I was raised. This coin reminds me of my mantra, "A man is only as good as his word".

“Bad men need nothing more to compass their ends, than that good men should look on and do nothing.”

Why would people attack this coin?

Do they target all scrypt coins and try to make double spend attacks?

Or is it noble that get a special treatment for some reason?

From all the puzzles that i collected, i think that someone has something personal to Rofo, maybe after reading the PDF's and Rofo's strong points there.
So that person(s) wants to prove that Rofo's coin fails (and in that way prove that his opinions are also wrong).

Which, as we all know, is very childish.

So, as they form maybe a group with LOT of btc (look at extraction. also consider that only the last attack should have costed easily more than 12-15 btc [...]

This exactly what I think,
The first attack was profitable because mintpal had 3-6 confirmations for nobl deposits so they could double spend or whatever they do with 51%,

After mintpal raised it to 999 conformations attacks become useless (not profitable) and that is why I must assume it is something personal against ROFO/NOBL.

I am about to keep silence here, but you guys childish are really boring. PROVE there is attack and WHY people need to prove that your coin fails!! Even the coin cannot die because of attack. You all should hear the negative voice from people and take approaches responding to that, that makes the coin and the community stronger.

I am with NOBL for a while, but I noticed what Dev did to the code is checkpoint updates, you want your wallet version at 1.0.0.0 forever? Issues also with big premine, and no reward halving, so total coin going to be infinity, while it says 15 billion coins, where this from? Good coders should take care of every details, shouldn't you? I admit the market & donation are remarkable, but any coin can do that right? It is very important for people to take care of the negative voice (not just ignore or fight). Keep coding deign & algo whatever superior to LTC whatever will make NOBL more attractive and strengthen marketplace further.

No, what I am getting at is that this is relatively big news and that seems to be what we need at the moment. I don't partic care about the halving, though anything to raise the price and therefore the awareness of Noble is good.

Anyways, Hueristic, I can't argue with you, you are a million times more experienced with this than me Smiley

Good luck at the casino.

lol you mean people dont know about the block halving coming up? lol too bad for them. crypto has a way of balancing itself out. there is no way this coin will stay at this level. it is much too valuable and useful.. but i think it only lacking some anon capabilities to grab a larger share of crypto market investment. there is a giant market for anon features. the kind of market i think that can put noble over 1000 satoshi

Dude, first. Chill the hell out.

To be realistic there have been very very few negative comments surrounding Noble and they can be addressed by:

Premine- Yes it is big, but a vast amount has already been given away and every single Noble has been accounted for. I think it is essential for the long term survival of the coin.
Wallet update- There is a big wallet update coming soon that will add some cool new stuff. Plus the fact that the wallet is still on version 1 is great. It means that it was done right THE FIRST TIME.
Block halving- coming in the next month or so, then every few months (I think).
15 billion coins- Nope, last time I heard it was somewhere around 5.
Marketing- I know a great lot has been done in this arena, but I think more can be done. The problem is that decent marketing costs money.
Attack- Not my area, but there have been people pushing the price down from the start. I know it reflects badly on the community buying power but it is what it is.

Negative feedback is essential too, as people who hold it would be reluctant to publicly point out problems, that is why I am trying to address these points constructively.

i wouldnt worry about negative comments too much. theres not really much fud ppl can say about noble. it is a total stand up coin. but i am a firm believer that people just like to see development features and technologies of the latest going into their chosen coin investment. you could save a tonne on marketing with just the right implementations at the right time based on market response to other coins.

ill tell u one thing.. other coins are still trying to get to the point of noble as far as merchants and all these fantastic services go. what we dont have.. is the latest competing technologies implemented into our coin.

There has been lots of hostility in here lately which has sparked up quite a debate. We're all here for the same reason, to see NobleCoin succeed. Myself, Rofo and the rest of the team are asking for your continued support while we prepare an announcement!

Thanks,

Take a look this too:
Quote
static const int64 MAX_MONEY = 15000000000 * COIN; // NobleCoin: maximum of 15 billion coins
Block halving should not be months, should be years, surely up to Dev.

p.s., don't address to my comments, address to public, to the community.

Personally I'm hoping Noble stays how it is and we find ways to secure the network without forking.

I recently invested in 100 Mhash of asic mining hardware to do my part. I have been bouncing around the various mining pools for the last week to keep the balance in the network, and so far I have had a positive effect.
I never sell my Noble, so it annoys me when people paint all asic miners with the same brush. Not all of us dump as soon as the coins are mined. I put a lot of money into my asic hardware, and if Noble is forked to make it temporarily asic resistant I'll be slightly pissed off.
If I have no choice, I might turn my power wasting, heat producing inefficient 280X rig back on. But then again, I might not. Despite how much I believe in the Noble Movement...

GPU miners are generally un-professional. If Noble is not treated as a business and expanded to become immune to pathetic attacks on the network, it is at risk of being left behind and forgotten.
If every one of this Noble community vowed to contribute 10 mega hash to secure the network, we would truly OWN Noble, and we would take some serious steps towards becoming one of the most reputable currencies in the crypto world.

Hopefully then growth and adoption would be exponential.

To me, GPU mining is like a hobby, inefficient compared to ASIC. Of course, there are professional GPU mining farm as I knew, 4.6GH in an industry environment. You can do the math to figure out maximum MH in a household environment.

After reading my post all you take from it is that I claim GPU miners are unprofessional?
I never said I was professional. But, anyone that is willing to put their money into expensive hardware that does nothing but mine scrypt coins will be making that decision with a more professional mindset than the average fickle GPU miner.
Some GPU miners are just as dedicated and 'professional' as the best of us, but most dump a coin as soon as it's not popular and/or profitable before moving onto the next fad.

Miners buy asic hardware that is 'locked' to a select few coins.
Take LTC for example. The price is dropping fast, but the hashrate and difficulty is rocketing up as more asics hit the network. These miners choose LTC and will probably have their hardware working on LTC until it can no longer compete with new miners or cover it's electricity bill.

The point I am trying to make is that GPU mining is great to get a fledgling currency off the ground easily (and test new concepts), but once it is up and running (like Noble is now) it's past the 'startup' stage.
Stage 2 requires a more professional and efficient approach.

Many people have said we need to change algo to avoid asics, but have not offered any insight as to how they would contribute to the future of Noble.
