Devide $500 to 5 parts and invest 100$ in 5 different new alts just come out to IDEX from "high" rated ICOs on icodrops and trading near ICO price. That coins have big chances to be listed on big Exchanges and make x2-x3 in near future

What is your risk level? For low risk, my suggestion is to look at top 20 market cap and pick 2 to 3 coins for investment.

If your risk tolerance is high, you may want to consider ICO projects.

Do your own research mate. That $500 is good for some altcoins but what I'm worried about you is you may believe and fall to those people who will advise you to buy shit coins.

It seems to me if the amount is small you do not need to buy too many coins, I mean this is too much, you can not follow all news of each coin and you can skip the profit. Maybe about 3 will be enough.

You can always invest your money in Top 10 altcoins in the market. I mean they always provide us more trust than others as they have reached top 10 on the basis of peoples choice, their hikes in the development and stuff related to the market investment. First thing should be minimising the risk and with top 10 projects its almost next to zero.

So you can prefer coins like ETH, XRP, TRX, BCH, BTC, ADA etc. (From top 10)
If you further want to make diversification then you can invest your money into some of the newly formed projects like REM, IOS, Siacoin, IOTA etc.
