Last  year I was  in your situation, but I had 1 eth (it was about  250 usd)   I invested in PAY token and soon  (in 3-4 weeks ) made X3,   so my conclusion is invest in tokens with not big market cap, (like BTC ETH NEO TRX)there are not so much chances  that they will do X2 X3 X4 and so on. and second advice - buy  tokens with price less than ICO price.

Dividing $500 to 5 coins was not preferable, why don't you think to find a better altcoins in the ICO which can give 5x to 10 times profit when it will be listed in market. If you have a bigger capital then you can gain a bigger profit. So what's the point you have to divide your money that it will turns out into draw or something you will earn money but lesser or you losing your money that bigger?
