This is the right decision to invest in altcoins. But it is better to study in detail the projects you are interested in.

I can actually see some people stating that one should just open a good exchange, do not panic buy and all others but that is not the main thing that is needed in knowing what to exactly invest in or how to make a good decision.

All those ones are just what you need in either buying into such markets or holding. Just like you have stated, what is important is to get in details what actually makes the product valuable so you just do not end up bag holding shit coins and as long as you can sort that out, based on the team and product availability, it would help a lot.

Investing in altcoins can be taken as serious job as we put our real fiat into it and that could be very very risky job to do. Altcoins are always subject to risk and thats why many investors also suggest that investing money into the Bitcoin or ETH is far more safer than putting into the other coins.

But we are small investor and we always need cheap coins to invest in. So its better choose some good altcoins from the market and do this depending upon the project progress.

For example,

- Look for the developed project ( Ex. IOST, REMME, EOS etc)
- Look for the project being developed but having active team ( Ex. MAT, SCL, JNT etc)
- Look for the project which just got listed in the exchanger but receiving heavy volume ( Ex. UTK, IPL etc)

If you always stick with such group of project and buy their altcoin then they could be jackpot in the future.

I would suggest not to do this. If you really want to test, spend something you can afford to lose on coins you are confident in after doing all the research you can. This freebie attitude is really a waste of time, and that to me is worse than investing. You could end up spending days and weeks doing nothing but shilling and making up stories about alts to get a free tokens but then, that makes it not free!

Spend that time better learning and earning actual money, then put some into actual investment, buy the coins.

That's true and I was once a cry baby upon hearing that there were losses especially if there are many traders dump or what we called the 'red'. It's better to research because you can gain further knowledge and besides altcoins have a low capital and small losses than bitcoin. What's good thing in altcoin is that it can wave into higher amount if possible. That's why other newbies invest in cheaper way and that's because of altcoin.
