it was announced January 7th 2014 with a launch date of January 11th 2014

Hashrate increasing, difficulty climbing.  Get in while its still good.

I officially nominate ccoin as having the worst launch ever.

Why?  Everything is working smoothly and has been since at least I found out about it.  Got a working wallet right of the bat (for me at lest and im a noob).  Still comfortable mining with mining pools working without a hitch which is more then I can say for many new coins.  It just needs more momentum and spread now..... and of course to get on an exchange, maybe faucets ets.   Its only like 10 days old.

btw we need more miners on the p2p pool (squiggie).

Firstly, Beastly's opinion is not represented in any of my personal opinions. Nor should anyone assume his opinion is.

Now on to my opinions.

We did not launch with a windows wallet and i think that caused people to feel there was an issue with it.

We also launched with limited number of pools as I expected most people to solo mine at the beginning.
One of the pools had some issues with their mining services at the beginning, which i believe some people blamed us for.

We also did not launch with an exchange. i think people were upset they can't dump it on an exchange.

The old windows wallet needs you to restart after install as well (as you should with any install). If not their qt instance would crash.

I don't think it would be fair to "relaunch" a coin as one user wants us to do.

I also felt it was unfair to delay launch once we established it and had miners up at all hours waiting to try to mine it at least a bit to support us, so we launched.

I feel it is better to build a coins network to last instead of a quick pop to the top.
Our network's chain age is approximately at the appropriate age too which I believe further upsets people as they are making as much as they should in an day and not screwing up the system to mine it all to death in a week.

CCoin is here to stay and there is active development. Our development is based around community effort and community input. I'm still waiting for users to give a final "ye" or "nay" regarding transaction messaging, and to reply with other features they want us to implement. We *WILL* work our code around the community's final say.

Plus there was no pre-mine. In fact, the first block (not the genesis block, but block 1) was not mined until *AFTER* the official launch time. I have almost no ccoin as well so users do not feel i am putting out a scamcoin. Maybe my lack of mining the coin early is why people are having issues with it... No matter, in a few days ill start mining it as i feel confident that people will not be upset saying us devs were mining the crap out of it.

As the phrase goes,

BTW, there is now a total of 50k CCO available to someone who can create & publicly release a VMWare image for the community to perform gitian builds of the qt & command-line wallets for coins such as BTC, CCO, LTC, etc...

I say yes to the transactions messaging,  I think its a cool feature as long as it doesnt make the wallet less secure or buggy.

cool.

and good to hear. it shouldn't but im going to work a bit first with the pool ops so we can get everything updated and a hardfork going in collaboration.

it shouldn't have any effect on our coin's wallet seucrity as long as you encrypt any private message

I don't think it was a fail launch. It is true we didn't have wallet available right at launch. But they where made available very soon. The aim of ccoin isn't to create massive hype then dump the coin the aim is to get a community driven coin that becomes something that people value for its use not just for financial gain. Also we could have delayed the launch but we didn't. Also it is 100% proven that ccoin was not pre mined.

Thanks

I think you have to reboot your computer after installing the wallet

Delivery to France easily available from me. If someone is really interested, I can check if it's possible to deliver somewhere else.

development is still ongoing. I am of the mindset that a slow and steady build up is what a coin needs to achieve something new. Transaction messaging tests have gone well so far but I do not wish to add the feature until we add a few other unique features and re-base to the newest upstream code which will be a few weeks. I am still looking for suggestions of features to add.

I am working to add getauxpow etc so it can be a parent chain in a merged mine scrypt chain. Anyone willing to assist me with that please post here for me

thanks for the support guys. its great to see

Nice and easy does it, but I think this coin needs a boost.  I agree that a slow buildup is positive if you want the coin to last, but it would be a shame if it would die.
Hashrate is  going down, which is good for miners, but I hope its not caused by loss of interest.  I am a small miner, been on this for about a week now and have a little over 200k,
but Ive seen miners taking in millions per day.  Not sure if that discourages smaller miners or not.  Maybe it would be good to try to push for an exchange? or does that smell like a pump and dump for such a new coin?  Im pretty new to this crypto stuff so Im not sure what is best, but you see a lot of fresh "crap" coins make it to these exchanges.

I personally do like slow build up soft start coins .. good small coins will get an exchange just like propsercoin did hang in there very similar coin just prosper is 21 million and ccoin is larger volume but i am sure this coin will get an exchange soon. This is so much better than reddcoin and its so called ipco hmmm
