Coin will be frequently updated with added features in the coming weeks.

I figured I would sign up for a btctalk account and pop by and say hello.

I assisted beastly with some of the changes for the coin and will continue to try to keep the code up to date

I did not build the windows binaries and I am going to leave that to someone else to do, but I will see what I am able to find out about the crashing wallet.

I've been discussing with others how to bring this to a level beyond just a payment system. One idea I am keen on having implemented is on chain messaging.

Thank you to those who have assisted us in securing the network thus far. There will be updates and changes. As far as the hashing algo is concerned, i'm interested in hearing (politely) why you feel scrypt jane should be used over scrypt. What is the real world value you have seen? What set backs has scrypt jane caused? I have investigated this matter but wish not to adulterate anyone's views by making comments one way or another.

Questions or constructive comments are appreciated, I plan on trying to tidy up the code further with a updated release in the next week.

Thank you for your time,

-Joe

*EDIT*
Arch Linux AUR PKGBUILD for CCoin is available here https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/ccoin-git/ (Thanks dome22xl)

what are the plans on getting this coin into the spotlight?

Let's start with a 100k CCO bounty for the first exchange listing it.

Once again I am going to throw out a bounty of 10K cco for anyone who can build a keylogger/virus/worm/death free vm image that can do gitian builds. You mus release it to the community to claim the bounty.

I will add an extra 30k CCO to both of those bounties

MORE BOUNTIES

Since we're getting closer to a point in which we will be doing our first round hard push of cco, I want to update some bounties (these are all from my own wallet)

2 million CCO PERSONAL bounty for the first exchange to add CCO with promise of 3 months, 10% up front, 10% after month 1, 10% after month 2, rest (70%) at end of month 3.

1 million CCO bounty for an android wallet

500k CCO bounty to fork electrum for litecoin to CCO with daemon updates for cco

500k CCO bounty for anyone who can create (present to the public, opensource and verify) a virus free VM for building gitian builds (ubuntu preferred). I can do this but I would rather focus on other goals such as in depth development. This project needs to be available for ANY coin developer to use, not just myself.

You can follow this post or the next one for ideas on how to create the VM (and get it going)
http://gavintech.blogspot.com/2014/02/gitian-building-bitcoin-releases.html
https://gist.github.com/devrandom/806265

10k cco bounty to someone who can create a block explorer (or restart theirs again).

25k cco bounty to someone who will take that block explorer and open source it along with the initial import. Additional 5k if you add a one step install script

additional bounty funds: 500k CCO for any cool projects

I am adding 1 million to the bounty for the exchange which will be paid out in conjuction with Joes bounty.

Message me if you have any problems
Transactions must be included in a block to be properly completed. When you send a transaction, it is broadcast to miners. Miners can then optionally include it in their next blocks. Miners will be more inclined to include your transaction if it has a higher transaction fee.

Can't really expect to have any good feedback unless you post proper details of the coin pre-launch. Post-launch provision of info smells too much like scamming and mining the heck out of the coin when no one's interested in it 'cause of the bad launch.

Any word on whats going on? pool seems down and no wallet to use p2p?

The pool is down, and theres no wallet to solo or anything.
The pool mined 25 /47 so far. Someone (dev?) is crunching out the solo mine while we all wait....

-Joe

The current (mpool block explorer) block explorer seems to have some limitations, so hitting up a bounty of 10 000 CCoins to have the following functionality added:

- No limits on requested data to display
(example: Looking up transactions for some addresses gives an error "I'm sorry, this address has too many records to display")
- History view for addresses
(List all addresses where funds have been received and sent)
- Visual graph of number of transactions for the day / week / month

I'll prolly add something to be added later, but these would be nice to have soonest Smiley

I tried to reply yesterday but btctalk was not allowing me to post.

Anyway, i have had a few others report this and I also have experienced this. Please make sure you have everything updated (including all optional windows updates/upgrades from this last week (2014 week 2)).

If you have not also please try to restart your computer after installing the wallet or noticing this error. I was able to recreate this a few times on a VMware image, once I restarted the machine after installing the wallet I stopped having this error. I also made sure to restart the machine before and after installing the client.

Please let me know if that helps or not. I am working to try and get the gitian-build working so i can compile a version for you. If someone wants to create a good VMware image to run gitian builds and release it as opensource/public domain I will put a bounty of 2k CCO which are about 1/6 of my entire connection Or I can rent out 1 mh/s of mining gear for a day to run either solo or p2pool to a wallet you select.

Thank you dego, If you want to upload the block explorer sql data I can write some code for google charts for you to use

**EDIT**
I'm looking over transaction messaging now and as another project has it in their code already it might not be too difficult to add to the code. This would requre a hardfork and I WOULD give a week's notice and create new binaries for the hardfork. I'm also going to go back and put in a master coders/alert key before i do the next update. I will try to document it once i have the process completed so others are able to do it as well.

I will be attempting to add transaction messaging to a beta version in the next day(s). Once this is completed anyone interested in testing this out will be given access to the code.

I will try to keep development going on this project and I am glad to integrate any needed/requested features not in a current version.

This will be a required update/fork and will have a 1 week (7 day) announce window before any changes are to be made.

Are there any other ideas/requests for immediate development on this coin?

I would like to add colored coins/user issued assets in the upcoming months

Hi, WASPJoe and Beastlymac,

I got a fair amount of the coin, so if you need some for the rewards, just ask me.
There was no premine, so the rewards are going out of your pockets.

And yeah we decided we didn't want to premine scam people out of money

On a side note: I've been able to get a working version of ccoin with transaction messaging. I am going to wait to push for any updates until i can have others confirm if it's really wanted on the main chain

we had already discussed this on IRC but for those who can't read minds: it really is up to the sender+recipient to give it value. I just think it's nice in case you are looking to send along a note.

also, please be aware that the binary for windows in the OP is no longer available. please feel free to pick it up here

Oh we are active. If you look at my github im maintaining the block checkpints. i am also working on adding in transaction messaging but i am waiting till we hit an exchange to finish that so we can all be sure there is enough community support.

I've been distracted the last two or three days with running my pool and setting up the WPC pool so that might be the perceived issue there.

thanks for your itnerest! and we thought it was a clever name too.

any suggestions for the coin? I'm always ears to hear what people want to see in a coin. After all CCoin is 100% community driven project not a profit driven project. In fact i only mine at 20 kh/s so people do not feel like there's the chance of a scamcoin.

The pool is doing fine, although there is still only 1 active miner.

As far as tx messaging goes, I'd really have to have the beta wallet to test with. However, if it mimics the code of others, I'm pretty sure there will be a problem.

GPK260, i will get in touch with beastly as soon as I can. I do not have access to the web server.

squiggie: hopefully in a few weeks i'll have a good scrypt rig and i can mine some coins with you. Also it should have the same syntax as flo. I am not quite as in a hury right now as there's a pretty important update that i would like everyone to make... which brings me to my next statement...

If anyone has been watching the doge thread, it was noted that there is no cap for doge. I realized after coding ccoin that I forgot to put the hard stop in after the approx 14 year distribution. I have added it to my github and am asking anyone with a node to please upgrade.
THIS BUG IN NO WAY MAKES THE NETWORK INSECURE!

I apologize for this problem as it was a huge oversight on my part before the final release of the code.
But as I said it is not a big issue right now HOWEVER, it is one So my sincerest apologies. I feel it is best to be open about things.

Once again I am going to throw out a bounty of 10K cco for anyone who can build a keylogger/virus/worm/death free vm image that can do gitian builds. You mus release it to the community to claim the bounty.

(my github is always available here https://github.com/joeswhite/ccoin )

again thank you for understanding. this is really not an security issue but i do not want to let it go.
Looking forward to more great time together

Eagerly waiting for the ccoin to get onto the exchanges Cheesy
same here.

also, beyond going to btc miami, I am going to the virtual currency meeting with wells fargo (60 total seats) and im going to be cutting it a bit short on funds. I really don't want to beg but I already am running on E both in my gas tank and my wallet (i have no bank account).

If anyone is interested in donating even a few CCO or mBTC i would appreciate it greatly. Gas Buddy says it will be slightly over $50 usd to drive there and back and I would also need probably about $20 for gas.

I am willing to take a list of questions and try to ask any that I can.

Any of you who know me also know I run a FreiCoin pool and afaik im the only pool op in the crypto scene who is going.

thanks for all the support. I am glad to see this coin coming along.

what are the plans on getting this coin into the spotlight?

Let's start with a 100k CCO bounty for the first exchange listing it.

Beastly, can you add this to the initial post and to your website?

As I previously said, I have mined some and I will share a part of it. This is a community driven coin, it needs it's community.
That's why I'm helping.

why am I getting so many orphans?

First thing might be the low difficulty.
And maybe you don't have enough hashrate if you are solo mining.
Try a pool.
It might also be caused by high latency on your connection.

Been mining at the squiggie pool for over 12 hours on 210 khz and havnt seen a coin!

Is that normal?

I use ./cudaminer -H 2 -C 2 -i 1 -l auto -o stratum+tcp://ftc.squiggie.com:19329 -u MELAyfZf2ib1dBpRedDAq5Bb3o8FwAu3AM -p x

I see cudaminer getting tons of blocks accepted but nothing shows up in the wallet.
This is my first time pool mining this coin so im not sure how it works but I was
getting much more solo.  So my guess is my coins are there somewhere and havnt
been sent.

EDIT --- crap I just realized Ive been mining on the feathercoin port!!!  so no wonder im not getting anything.
well that was a waste of 13 hours mining.   Starting with port 19333 this time and see how that goes.

I officially nominate ccoin as having the worst launch ever.

Why?  Everything is working smoothly and has been since at least I found out about it.  Got a working wallet right of the bat (for me at lest and im a noob).  Still comfortable mining with mining pools working without a hitch which is more then I can say for many new coins.  It just needs more momentum and spread now..... and of course to get on an exchange, maybe faucets ets.   Its only like 10 days old.

btw we need more miners on the p2p pool (squiggie).

Firstly, Beastly's opinion is not represented in any of my personal opinions. Nor should anyone assume his opinion is.

Now on to my opinions.

We did not launch with a windows wallet and i think that caused people to feel there was an issue with it.

We also launched with limited number of pools as I expected most people to solo mine at the beginning.
One of the pools had some issues with their mining services at the beginning, which i believe some people blamed us for.

We also did not launch with an exchange. i think people were upset they can't dump it on an exchange.

The old windows wallet needs you to restart after install as well (as you should with any install). If not their qt instance would crash.

I don't think it would be fair to "relaunch" a coin as one user wants us to do.

I also felt it was unfair to delay launch once we established it and had miners up at all hours waiting to try to mine it at least a bit to support us, so we launched.

I feel it is better to build a coins network to last instead of a quick pop to the top.
Our network's chain age is approximately at the appropriate age too which I believe further upsets people as they are making as much as they should in an day and not screwing up the system to mine it all to death in a week.

CCoin is here to stay and there is active development. Our development is based around community effort and community input. I'm still waiting for users to give a final "ye" or "nay" regarding transaction messaging, and to reply with other features they want us to implement. We *WILL* work our code around the community's final say.

Plus there was no pre-mine. In fact, the first block (not the genesis block, but block 1) was not mined until *AFTER* the official launch time. I have almost no ccoin as well so users do not feel i am putting out a scamcoin. Maybe my lack of mining the coin early is why people are having issues with it... No matter, in a few days ill start mining it as i feel confident that people will not be upset saying us devs were mining the crap out of it.

As the phrase goes,

BTW, there is now a total of 50k CCO available to someone who can create & publicly release a VMWare image for the community to perform gitian builds of the qt & command-line wallets for coins such as BTC, CCO, LTC, etc...

I say yes to the transactions messaging,  I think its a cool feature as long as it doesnt make the wallet less secure or buggy.

cool.

and good to hear. it shouldn't but im going to work a bit first with the pool ops so we can get everything updated and a hardfork going in collaboration.

it shouldn't have any effect on our coin's wallet seucrity as long as you encrypt any private message

I don't think it was a fail launch. It is true we didn't have wallet available right at launch. But they where made available very soon. The aim of ccoin isn't to create massive hype then dump the coin the aim is to get a community driven coin that becomes something that people value for its use not just for financial gain. Also we could have delayed the launch but we didn't. Also it is 100% proven that ccoin was not pre mined.

Thanks

any1 open thread on an exchange?

130k CCO bounty still pending for the first exchange.

but if anyone is open to trade CCO, not necessarily for crypto, it can be done.

Who wants a 10k CCO Pizza?  Wink

What pizza place is taking CCO?  Do they deliver to europe?  Smiley

Delivery to France easily available from me. If someone is really interested, I can check if it's possible to deliver somewhere else.

development is still ongoing. I am of the mindset that a slow and steady build up is what a coin needs to achieve something new. Transaction messaging tests have gone well so far but I do not wish to add the feature until we add a few other unique features and re-base to the newest upstream code which will be a few weeks. I am still looking for suggestions of features to add.

I am working to add getauxpow etc so it can be a parent chain in a merged mine scrypt chain. Anyone willing to assist me with that please post here for me

thanks for the support guys. its great to see

Nice and easy does it, but I think this coin needs a boost.  I agree that a slow buildup is positive if you want the coin to last, but it would be a shame if it would die.
Hashrate is  going down, which is good for miners, but I hope its not caused by loss of interest.  I am a small miner, been on this for about a week now and have a little over 200k,
but Ive seen miners taking in millions per day.  Not sure if that discourages smaller miners or not.  Maybe it would be good to try to push for an exchange? or does that smell like a pump and dump for such a new coin?  Im pretty new to this crypto stuff so Im not sure what is best, but you see a lot of fresh "crap" coins make it to these exchanges.

I personally do like slow build up soft start coins .. good small coins will get an exchange just like propsercoin did hang in there very similar coin just prosper is 21 million and ccoin is larger volume but i am sure this coin will get an exchange soon. This is so much better than reddcoin and its so called ipco hmmm

I don't think its a lack of interest, i actually think it's more of the coming btc diff rise that's causing a bit of a decrease in hashrate. I think people are trying to hash a few more mbtc before the diff rise and give up on GPU mining BTC completely.

I think that it might seem a bit discouraging for a small miner not to get millions, but you have as much if not more ccoin than I do. As i said before I want people to not think i'm premining, or doing it to get rich. I'm doing it to spur some unique developments that I want to do. Hopefully next week I can get more things done on the code. I'm going back and forth about doing a hardfork to add tx messaging right now or if i want to wait for when i have a few more things finished in the code.

I do feel like it should eventually reach an exchange, and sooner rather than later. I am not overly worried though as not having a coin on an exchange form the start (imo at least) gives it a bit more legitimacy as not a p&d scheme

I've been talking to one of my other fellow miners about using this coin for education and showing people step by step how a coin is created, why you should investigate code, how to and not to do things, and my experiences with diff filters. Also, AFAIK CCoin was the first "Alt" scrypt coin to have a scrypt asic mining on it. So that should make history.

Thank you for your support. I am looking long term as are the other miners of the coin. We're a small bunch of people but we like to see it as a way to enjoy mining and it's fun to help new users get set up and see them get a few hundred cc with their cpu Cheesy .

Beastly and I decided on this number for a few reasons, partially for the fun factor of being a billion zillion coin and partially because it would give users the chance to get an entire coin. I also decided against decreasing block rewards because heck its going to take a long time to mine all of these anyway.

As I said I appreciate your guys support and hope that it continues.

I want to note to people that I also made a conscious choice not to run a pool for CCoin because i did not want a conflict of interest both with my current alt-coin pool nor any chance of a conflict of interest if there would be a majority of miners on my pool. But there is also no need because mineabit and squiggie do a good job.

mineabit's pool op and I were talking this morning and i believe he is moving out of his previous datacentre and moving over to a new centre that should do a lot better for his pool. That is exciting news for me to hear!

Please keep in touch and keep this thread active. My apologies for the delayed response. I am pretty busy between finishing up the WPC pool with the Wasp group and getting ready for a consulting gig and family visit this weekend and early next week. (No worries, I've got gogoflight wifi both ways so I will be around and SSH tunneling is always great on those services).

Another note: I can write a faucet if someone is willing to fund it and host it, i've got a fork of greedi's old faucet that has some added security to keep people from hitting it hard over and over (email verification etc).

Anyway, time for me to get going for now. It's a pleasure as always to get to talk to my fellow cryptocoin enthusiasts. I *MIGHT* be going to the canadian BTC conference depending on dates and if i can get a passport. If i do go, I will give you guys a heads up.

I agree, there are so many coins coming out every day and too much p&d hype.  We want this to last even if it is "worthless" for a while.

Thats great!  I think a well organized faucet is a great way to get the coin some attention and get people to try it.  Before we have to make sure the wallets are all working without any problems.  I could donate some coins and Im sure others are willing to, esp the fat wallets Smiley

I'm trying to find a case study or whitepaper on it but haven't found anything im really interested in...

I do know it requires modified pool code and miners. i believe they are already out there but i am just wondering if ti will be an increased barrier to entry. I do want to add it at some point though so it will happen but might just need to contact those coins devs and see what's up

Agreed, it's sad to say but at least it shows people we are not in it for a get rich quick scheme

We all knew they were coming. To think that scrypt is asic resistant is like saying that drinking a coca-cola will not re-hydrate you. It's just a misconception many have had for a while. But currently asic chips are uber expensive for scrypt mining though.

I just think GPU mining is really bad for the environment. I really would like to see curecoin actually get finished, or better yet, find some devs who are willing to work on this with me (I'm a Registered Nurse so I'm all for development of ways to make mining a scientific procedure)

Yeah, the bounty still stands for someone to put up an OS non virus ridden/keylogger/death free VM for gitian builds. The bounty is currently a total of 50K cc. I'm even willing to throw some of my other coins on it too as i want the community to be able to easily crosscompile their own windows clients. There should not be a hard entry to gitian builds.

I want to see the ccoin community work on sponsoring bounties to get these kind of things out there. Make it easier for people to get in to cryptos even if its bitcoin/litecoin/etc over ccoin. It just makes sense for us to work as a group of developers across chains to get things going. and make it possible for some mid-level experienced developers at least cross compile the qt clients.

thinks again for the great discussion. Hope to keep talking to you

So it might take me some time, and I don't really need the bounty, so feel free to stash it and use it for another giveaway. I'll report back if I can get it working.

There is a stark contrast between the rushed scam coin, copy code devs that are just trying to make a quick buck and real devs with experience. This coin is sticking around for the long term.

How are any of these altcoins supposed to survive?  Its all p&d now.  You see on the same day:launch, pool, exchange and crash.  This game is only for people that are in IT or tech savy and obviously dont have a "normal" job.  No one else is getting in on this, and that spells eventual death too me.  Im new to this stuff and just realizing how insane this game is.  And it seems nobody is supporting any or really few of the altcoins long  term, cos its much "better" to just launch a new one every time and p&d it.  Now btc is under siege.  It seems like this is an almost guaranteed self destruct buisness.

Im still small time mining ccoin on pure faith, cos it seems to have skipped the radar of the locust players.  But why has it not been devoured by the crazy mob?  It seems to have been a totally fair launch and still very mineable for someone low profile and the biggest complaints you see on newly launched altcoins is "scam, unfair launch, premine" etc.

Dont misunderstand me, I love that ccoin is not being raped by the altcoin "monsters".

just a thought.

There are devs, plus people like me supporting it.
I mined "too much" of it so I temporarily removed my hashing for now to let others get some too.

I'm also offering CCO for the actual bounties.

I can even arrange a pizza delivery if you pay with cco.
Sushi could be possible on request.

This slow start is nice because everyone can grab some.

Thanks, some people will say that we did not have a "fair" launch because we did not have the QT binary for windows at the launch, but I also want to point out that we are still at a low enough diff that even cpu miners could get some coins at this point. I'm hoping we can spur the altcoin community to actually assist bitcoiners with development tools such as a VM with gitian builds ready to go.

So you have no team behind this? How much time do you, the dev, have to invest and promote this coin?
Nope, I'm a dev. So is beastlymac. My repo is always up to date and i try to add checkpoints regularly... In fact i should do that now.

I have been working on transaction messaging as well as looking at the possibility of adding the getauxwork getauxpow calls ect so we can be a parent chain for any merged mined scrypt coins. So i hope that gives you some insight in to what we are doing here. We are community driven which means it's people like you and I that keep this coin coing. Sure I'm a dev, but I'm a community member first. I feel that differentiating between a developer and a community member just puts unneeded space between us. It also causes devs to get their heads too big and i would like to avoid that (I'm a down to earth kind of guy, or at least try to be).

Cool, I'm in. Do you deliver Pizza's in Europe Smiley

France will obviously be easier for me, but if you have a place where I can pay online by creditcard, it can be done worldwide.
Awesome to see that jabber is able to help out while I'm not available. This is a perfect example of being "community driven".

Thanks everyone for the support.

I want to give a small update, it appears that an exchange (I have never heard of them so use extreme caution till I get the chance to gain a rapport with the admin) will be adding CCoin for trading (https://swisscex.uservoice.com/forums/238010-general/suggestions/5492167-ccoin-). I'm glad that we are able to finally get an exchange going. It is nice to know that we are not a pump and dump and that we actually had to work towards this. So thanks to the community members that found out about this and made it happen.

Swisscex: could an admin contact me so we can talk, i want to make sure that everything goes smoothly and I want to make certain you are using my sourcecode as it is the most up to date.

Call me Joe Wink the WASP is just there as a nick for the WPC so people can pick me out more rapidly. But thanks! I got sick as soon as I got back and then this snow has been killer (living in Pennsylvania has been a bit rough this winter for snow). More snow on the way tonight (half a foot, gross).

I think we're under the radar still as I'm trying to push it as a community driven project than just a dev led project. I feel that community ran tasks and projects tend to go more smoothly and last a longer period of time.

Thanks! I'm going to go register for it now. I'll send you a PM from reddit and maybe you can add me as a subreddit mod?

Any news?
No news is good news i guess huh? Anyway, as I said earlier sorry for the delay. Sickness has been my thing this winter it appears. Welcome btw. Hope to talk to you soon.

Quick rundown for you though, I currently am working to bring the code to the main litecoin core code and then plan to directly work us off of the bitcoin branch. I am actually thinking of writing an entire client in (don't laugh as I think its going to be a fun project over the next  few months)... PHP. Since there are no decent OS PHP clients for any of these coins, I figure someone might as well start.

I'm also working to create an AIO installer for a CCoin MPOS instance, but some of this got pushed a bit to the back burner while I was working on another project out west. (more on that in the upcoming months Smiley )

The pools are currently having a problem, at http://cco.pool.mineabit.com
"Unable to connect to wallet RPC service: Unable to connect: "

looks like squiggie is working.
mineabit is ubaldo's pool. I know he was moving to a better datacenter after some of his issues so maybe it was not finished updating yet. I  think that ubaldo fixed his pool rapidly.

Reminder that anyone can use p2pool for CCoin, i believe the standard litecoin p2pool works but I can get the code from squiggie and get his help rebranding it/os it.

MAW45qEi4FKmFExA5RT7UY6CsoA2vxsSSM

Good picture, I'm not even going to complain about the wallet address underneath it.

Anyone wanting to create a seednode for CCoin to be added to the main repo please let me know. Simply send me a static ip/dns for the source and I'll add it as we seem to be running low on peers that connect with upnp.

Also make sure you set the max outbound peers to something more appropriate for the coin such as 16 or 32 or more. PM me for the line of code to change (or i can send you to a repo with that file updated)

as always, thanks for the support. Feel free to PM me or message me elsewhere. I tend to hang around my pool more often than here

I have a faucet ready to test if a couple people want to PM me I'll give out the address.

Also, if whoever owns the domain name for ccoin.info wants to PM me, I'll give you the url so a subdomain can be created like faucet.ccoin.info or something like that.

I believe that swisscex will be adding ccoin, but im not sure when. A few of the community members are pushing for exchanges to add it, and hopefully someone will soon. There is a bounty for the first exchange to add CCO.

I would offer to exchange, but I don't want there to be a conflict of interest so I will not be able to.

I have a faucet ready to test if a couple people want to PM me I'll give out the address.

Also, if whoever owns the domain name for ccoin.info wants to PM me, I'll give you the url so a subdomain can be created like faucet.ccoin.info or something like that.
Awesome, sorry i never got you the code in time. I am going to finish up the code i forked from Greedy which adds email verification of a user. My current version is on github, but i want to warn people that my FreiCoin faucet has been drained at times when i did not have email verification in place. The majority of the ips that were doing this came from Deutsche Telekom. I have a list of offending IP addresses here http://frc.now.im/wallofshame.php .
This version will use a MySQL database and ccoind, but i plan on attempting to make a version that only uses PHP for the entire process including database and broadcasting of transactions

squiggie, I will cc you in a PM to beastly as he owns ccoin.info.

If you guys could not deduce, I am working to code a PHP ccoin module that runs on the network using HD type 2 keys and does not require ccoind. It will only require the broadcast of transactions to the seed nodes and also to a list of peers as approved over time.

Currently I only run a Ukrainian seed node, but i plan to add a multi-gigabit us seed node soon.

squiggie and i are working to create a VM image that will build all cryptos through gitian build so the entire crypto community can build their own coin daemons with ease. I feel this is one of the best ways to give back to those who have created great code.

I'm still working to bring us up parallel with the current LiteCoin code, some time after that I will attempt to fork us directly from the BitCoin code so we can push any updates directly to the BitCoin project and so we can be in line with their code as well.

I am looking at gravity wells, and have some ideas for how to create a better well that is more of a "black hole" to bring the diff down more rapidly and will even out the block times better than the current wells have.  Some of the simulations The "black hole" (advanced and enhanced gravity well) is a bit of a long term goal, but hopefully should have some good simulations by the summer time. The super long term may include a new diff filter algo that completely replaces the current basic diff algo.

Thanks for the support as always. I'm doing what i can to get a better windows wallet built this week

Thanks for all the work Joe. It is appreciated.

I would like to have a faucet with email verification, as of right now, it just verifies IP addresses which can easily be spoofed. However, it's the best I could make happen with the options out there. There is a MPOS style faucet that is in the works, but unfortunately, there are just too many bugs right now. Perhaps when you get yours done, we'll implement it. For now, this will work. When I can get the subdomain going, I'll post it and Beastly can update the main post.

I've also been thinking a little bit about how we can make this coin stick out. There have been a few coins come on lately that have implemented code that allows them to be merge mined. I think if we're able to adapt that code into ccoin, with the additional of a gravity well and perhaps transaction messaging, that will give us a distinct advantage. Not only could people mine, for example, LTC but also merge mine CCO. Give it some thoughts and feedback, but I think that would be great.

Again, I would like to see this coin hit an exchange, but not before it's ready. I want to build a solid community around it before it does because the minute it does, it opens up the possibility for huge miners to come in and take advantage. I don't want this coin to die like the rest with high difffs and stalled miners. I know we could fork it and move on, but I'd like to see us stable before that happens. So lets get some more pools online, and let's try and generate more interest in the coin.

Good job to all!

Yeah, mining works fine but unlocking not atm, after entering the pin it says this:
"A confirmation was sent to your e-mail, follow that link to continue"

Then when you go to link in the email the "Edit Account" is still locked, that because there is no token in the link.

"You have a pending request to manually withdraw funds.
If you initiated this request, please follow the link below to confirm your changes. If you did NOT, please notify an administrator.
http://cco.pool.mineabit.com/index.php?page=account&action=edit&wf_token="

Hope it gets fixed soon, guess it's just a minor bug.

Good job to all!
merged mining cco as a child chain is something i've been toying around with for a while and if the community's general consensus is such then we will do it. Personally I'm all for it because it allows both CCO and *enter coin name here* to have a stronger network. I figure the #1 coin that would be the parent chain would be LTC but it's possible to use any coin so we might want to look in to marketing doge as a parent chain as well. I'd prefer us to not have to fork until we have final code updates (vs due to jerks profitability mining). It just becomes a mess when you fork a huge network. Making a coin wtih tx messaging to is a child chain will take a lot of work, but it would open up a really cool world of options. I'd like to make the merged mining update so easy that even a monkey could implement it. That would give so many coins limping along the ability to keep their block chains running.

I agree its best for the project to be completely mature before it gets slammed. I have a really early write up of what I'm calling an "Everest climb" which will inflate the diff super rapidly if the hashrate jumps too much (let's say 300% in 5 minutes). To the extent where it's over inflated to a too high diff on purpose to thwart off profitability miners crippling the network completely. Integrating that with the advanced gravity well ("Blackhole") should even out block times better. My #1 goal is to make a diff algo/filter that is immune to hopping and keeps the network within 1% of the protocol specification no matter what. (A hopping resistant coin).

It's sad that a developer has to spend more of their time figuring out how do defend their network against miners than it does against actual threats.

Is this coin new? when was the launch day?

Thanks to those adding pools. As i have said time and time again, I will not run a ccoin pool so no one cries wolf and says I'm scamming people.

I absolutely love the idea of merge mining with DOGE. I love the DOGE community. I think it's the most active community (aside from BTC) about development, giving, community and more out of all the crypto's. I love the idea of securing ccoin's network with the DOGE network and if we're the first coin to do that, it will not only secure our network if people adopt it, but bolster coin support and popularity. I think we should implement that over tx messaging.

Good job to all!
merged mining cco as a child chain is something i've been toying around with for a while and if the community's general consensus is such then we will do it.

January 11th, 2014.

Then I think i'll drop the tx messaging applications for now and try to get merged mining going. I'll give updates as I can.

Beastly has taken down ccoin.info to finish updates. I have not discussed this with him, but i think if the community here as a whole agrees, general consensus will win.

thanks for the patience, and I'm sorry for anyone thinking that this project is not being updated fast enough. I want to once again remind people: a good project takes time to investigate, develop, and implement new features versus just shoving them out as fast as possible.

I've been getting that on my main machine as well. I moved the client to another Windows XP laptop and it doesn't have the issue. I'm trying to work on getting the updated src from Joe with the checkpoints compiled and see if it makes a difference.

This problem should be fixed soon. I deleted the roaming folder and extracted the client again and it still gives the very same error. But on another Win 7 x64 it doesn't make problems.

The problem occurs when one tries to SOLO MINE! Which is very lame. It happened because of this yesterday. For some reason today I didn't had problems but I had to download all the block histrory synched fine and the moment I tried solo mining on port 44222 a crash occured!

Yes, I can replicate this as well. I'm still trying to work through rebuilding the windows wallet from source to see if it helps.

I see it's still down, do you need hosting for ccoin.info ? I can host it for you temporarily. If its a bandwidth problem, I've got multiple gbit links available for hosting the binaries. I pay for the bandwidth and never use more than 10-25% of the monthly allocation anyway.

@WASPJoe @Beastlymac

Is there anything else I can do to help this coin? I feel like I should be doing something else to help. I too can help with web hosting or some other needs. Unfortunately I don't have any experience programming C++ so I cannot help with any of the actual coin development. I've also been spinning my wheels getting a gitian build going and unfortunately have given up on that.

I would like to see this coin make some more traction or make a unique contribution to the coin community, but I feel like we might be loosing ground to the hundreds of other clones out there that have a huge pump. I know you all are in it for the long haul, and I see what kind of community you've built up around FRC. I just want to be able to contribute like that, so please let me know if there is anything else I can be doing.

Sorry i am just now getting back to you, I've been recoding my entire pool along with having to take a break as I'm doing a bit of other coding.

One thing that I've done to get a good community going is to simply add a chatbox to your pool page. It sounds silly, but if you can man it and keep it from being all shills you can create a nice community. I know i redirect anyone gpu mining to go over to ccoin. A simple irc applet could work for what is needed too.

Can you please pend him an email or a PM, or use his thread. This thread is for discussion of the coin. Moving off the topic of the coin can derail a thread and make it difficult for people to find information about the current updates to this coin.

Some pretty exciting things are happening behind the scenes with ccoin. I can't go in to all the details now, but we're close to having ccoin up to snuff with the litecoin code. Hopefully by the end of this summer we are able to get directly in line with the bitcoin client code.

What i can also disclose is that I'm working to make ccoin a parent chain for merged mineable scrypt coins. To make a good cace study, I am also working on a merge mineable coin that is able to accept AUXPoW from any scrypt based coin. Eventually I'm hoping to get the merge minable coin to accept AUXPoW from any sha-256, scrypt, XPM, or SHA3 coin that supports merged mining. What this means is that I am using CCoin as the proof of concept that we can make a singular coin that is merge mineable across any coin. In other words, an all encompassing coin that can be used as a unit of account cross chain.

Another thing I can say is once FreiMarkets for FreiCoin is done, I will be working to implement it on CCoin, which means native support for user issued assets and sub-transactions.

I've got a ton of ongoing projects, so anyone who is interested in helping, please give a reply here that you are interested.

Hi, I'm back after some private and computer troubles.
This stupid old thing won't work except on safe mode now. Maybe time to swap the 13 years old PC-DL deluxe bi-xeon for something newer.

Back to original subject,
I've seen some info on a faucet for CCO, so when it'll be available, I'll offer 100k CCO to help it.
From now, I'll also double each bounty that isn't redeemed yet on the original post.

So, it'll be as follow:
-260k CCO for the first exchange. I'll give 230k
-80k for anyone who can build a keylogger/virus/worm/death free vm image that can do gitian builds. I'll give 40k.

Joe or Beastly, do you have a CCO address where I can send the CCO until they are redeemed?

Hashrate is going up again, time to get your cheap CCO while they are available. Don't be shy, even a gridseed miner that you let there for a few weeks will perform nice.

Someone hit the p2pool today with ~10MH of power. Something is wrong with their configuration and they're currently hitting about 40% rejects and driving up the reject rate of the whole pool.
Miner                                                         Hashrate     DOA          Reject %

MRNVhcx6ZqDL6GJDn11LB5xangwp14eCxR    10.61 MH/s   4.42 MH/s   41.66%

If this is you, please configure your miner for p2pool settings. You can see the FAQ for settings but in general, lower your intensity, set your scan interval and gpu threads to 1 and manually set your diff rate per miner. Please let me know if you have any questions.

The coin on that exchange is no CCO, the address isn't the same. I'm pretty sure this coin is dead unless someone wants to reorg and get another dev to pick it up and move on.

Hello everyone,
the coin is not dead but there have bene major setbacks in my personal life.

My mother has been extrememly ill this summer as has my father and I have been caring for them.

squiggie, would you like to be added as an admin, I would like to get some more community members involved now that I am finally able to so this does not happen.

we can always hardfork to x11 or another algo if needed.

I just contacted the "other" C-Coin (CCN) community and let them know I am willing to give reciprocity of value on this chain as their developer seemed to be gone.

So, anyone who wants to be a coin dev, I'd be glad for the help.

again, sorry for the issues I want to get others to help here on the development side so in case my parents end up dead soon I can have someone else around to help.

I'm getting the ccoin.info page back up soon, just gotta get the info from beastlymac.

Thanks everyone.

BTW, I'm adding a few seednodes again here. My last block on file was on 5/15/14. Squiggie, can you confirm if there is a higher level chain?
Does anyone have an active node for me to peer with to get up to date?

thank you so much to everyone who has allowed me to take this time to care for my parents. Now, let's get this going.

I have been in contact with ubaldo who has a recent copy of the blockchain, we are getting peering set up over the next day or so as well as getting some pools going, if our old block explorer is not operational, I will attempt to throw a new one online as well.

I have a dedicated scrypt asic I'm going to be throwing on to the coin once it arrives, and I encourage others to as well.

as I stated in the "C-Coin" thread, I am will to work on reciprocity from that chain.

Sorry to hear about your family Joe. Obviously, that comes first so do what you need to do to take care of them.

The alt scene has significantly changed since cco was launched. People no longer really care too much about scrypt clones anymore. To be frank, no one really cares about them unless they bring some significant changes to the scene with development features. People would have to see something special in cco to adopt it and there just isn't.

I would be interested in helping you out in any way possible, but there would need to be a clear roadmap of development for it to do any good. I don't necessarily have a problem with leaving it as a scrypt coin, because with the asics out, they would promote a secure and healthy network. I'm still not opposed to enabling auxpow to merge mine with other scrypt clones. Honestly, I think that's probably the best way to secure a coin now is to make it a long term partner with ltc or something.

Let me know how I can help and I will. Oh, and welcome back.

Thanks for the condolences It's appreciated.

Agreed 100% on every last little bit. The reason I was thinking of keeping it scrypt is because scrypt asics are coming out and I kinda want one too. I'm not in it to make money, I want to try to get people involved in the coin world. After all the C does stand for (at least unofficially) community. I figure if we can just have fun with it, why not? Who knows, maybe someday there will be an EMP and we will need CCO for a unit of account.

One other suggestion was to eventually consider an x11 with demurrage without a foundation, but putting the demurrage at a lower rate.

and yeah, the idea of merged mining is definitely a good one. Right now, AmiSapphire has generously helped me get the code up to 0.8.3.1 and I'm going to try to test it out here over the next few days.

I've still been over in my little portion of the alt scene (FreiCoin) but haven't paid attention to scrypt.

Once thing that would be cool to do is to create branded clients based on the town you are in. (So since I live in Selinsgrove, PA USA, the client would have a background image of something around the area and would be "The Grove" CCO client).

Do you have the ability to have a seed node going for the coin that I can add in to the core code?

Also, since we are going to be upgrading to 0.8.3.1 it will be considered a hardfork so i figure we should get it right and have everything ready to go before the hardfork. I will also be changing the developers alert key. I am thinking that in a year or so after we gain a bit better rapport (I already know some of the same people you do so it makes it easier for me), I'd be glad to give you an alert key in case it is needed. (beastly obviously will have one)

If you can get that p2pool instance going again that would be awesome.

Our roadmap to development needs to be discussed here for sure.

My thoughts are this:

this week:
0) create ccoin github account so it is no longer forked from beastlymac or myself
1) get pools going on the current version of ccoin again
2) test 0.8.3.1 source
3) create new developers key

next week:
1) discuss when the hardfork will occur
2) discuss merged mining as a final solution or not (as we both said, its cool with us)
3) discuss if the community would like to offer reciprocity of value to the CCN (C-Coin) community on our chain (our innovative feature)
4) discuss other features we would like to add (tx messaging, supersend, other blind sends of coins)
5) discuss possible on chain scripting (AKA assist FreiCoin developers in development of FreiMarkets and implement on CCO)

more long term:
1) Update parent chain merged mining code to allow full auxpow headers in to the blockchain and push upstream to namecoin so FreiCoin and any other SHA256 coin can merge mine with namecoin (currently there is no way to merge mine FRC and NMC only due to this bug).
2) Discuss and plan cross-algo merged mining (aka merged mining CCO and BTC)
3) create system of multiple developer alert keys so each developer can be identified when sending a message
4) update alert key system to allow different levels of clearences (aka, a level one alert key can stop the network from transaction, a level three can just send a non-urgent notice to the clients)

I hope this seems like a good start. I still want to do transaction messaging eventually, but as I'm just getting back in to the game fully, i don't think it's viable quite yet

Good roadmap so far?

I can get a seed node up and put the p2pool back up, but honestly, it will have to be on a free amazon ec2 instance which doesn't have much horsepower. All my other servers are consumed with other projects.

If you want to pm me and we can work out bootstrapping the blockchain to make sure i'm on the right one, that would be nice.

yeah that's cool with me, every little bit helps

I have a little $10 VPS I have set up on a linode and I've got a server in cz that I'm going to be adding a seednode to.
Ubaldo is going to get back to me this evening with his blockchain as well, I'll pm you somewhere you can send me your latest chain, and we can compare and if there are issues we can reconcile and go from there.

I also have someone else setting up a third pool as well so we can have a p2pool, an mpos and a custom pool ready to go again.

I think we are probably going to stick with scrypt for a few reasons which I can talk to you about then.

Thanks again!

I've got a little 1.3 mh/s gaw miner on the way.

Hopefully I can get 2 more soon and have one on each pool

Joe, I got 3 Furys I could dedicate to ccoin, just let me know!

awesome, squiggie has his pool running again as does ubaldo, some time this week clark and I are going to get a pool going for him.

http://github.com/joeswhite/ccoin is up to date with the most current blockchain checkpoint and I've added a few nodes.

I have a few more nodes to set up again.

If there is anyone who can help me set up the gitian build VM's I can give 1 million CCO, 10k FRC and 0.02 btc as a bounty (I'm not quite following gavin andresen's tutorial on it).

I have a 1.3 gh/s fury GAW miner coming in I'm going to throw down, and i wanna get two more eventually to spread between the pools.

Also, who was it that had the blockexplorer going? are they able to get it going again, or can they send me the database/files so I don't need to keep going and redo it?

or, if someone wants to set up an explorer I'll send 100k cco

**EDIT** still working on the 0.8.3.1 update that AmiSapphire so generously helped me with. I have a few things I need to do with it yet. I figure lets do the first things first, get the pools going and we can discuss when the update will occur

I'm almost done with 0.8 update testing, once that occurs I'm going to start working on electrum for CCoin

Hopefully that gets everyone a bit excited.

my little Gaw miner came today and im about to test it out in a few hours

Additional 5k if you add a one step install script

additional bounty funds: 500k CCO for any cool projects

just confirming this post

ANNOUNCEMENT

It's looking likely that C-Coin (CCN) will be taken over by the original CCoin (CCO) developers in a merger, now that they are actively developing the project again. Check out their thread here.
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=404084.0
thanks egghead123,

I can confirm this is the case, mammix and I are working on a plan to merge the blockchains on one time reciprocity, the next block after this post will be the block that is confirmed as the last block for reciprocity. We will work on ways to have multi level alert keys so mammix can still have a hand in the community he has developed.

The first person to post that block hash+height+fullinfo on the CCO thread will get a 10k CCO bounty. If they back up the blockchain, i will give them 50k CCO bounty.

Please help by continuing the discussion in the CCO thread https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=404084.0

there's a ton of bounties for things to get going, but please be aware there will be a planned fork in the future once we have the blockchains ready to merge.

thank you egghead123 for your help bringing the community together, I'm going to have you be one of the community liaisons if you are willing to help during this time.

I'm asking for 2 more community liaisons to be voted on by group consensus.

I will send out 100K CCO to each of these liaisons for their time and help, 10k up front, the rest upon merger. If they choose to stay on as liaisons, we (the community) will vote on who will stay, who will go, and there will be an at large spot available.

Remember everyone has a say in development.  Please give me your thoughts on things such as KGW (which I'm not sure is the proper answer), I would prefer us to go with a 144-tap Parks and McClellan filter like FreiCoin has since it has proven to work well both in mathematic simulations and in real life scenarios.

What will the algo become i nist or x15 someting like that?
I think 7 billion coins is a huge ammount.
Can u update the Ann on this with the specs of the new merged coin?
A Rich list after the merger would be nice to have aswell.

I hope this goes well GL I still hold a relitively small bag of ccoin let me know if i can help out.

Hello,
First off thanks for getting in touch with me. I've had a number of people ask this question via pm, so for now I'm going to try to answer everyone here so the discussion can remain open.

I don't think a hashing algo change will actually give real value in a coin as this coin (cco) has not come close to the end of it's distribution time.

my idea was:

have everyone compile their coins to a single address they own and have them sign a message with a CCO wallet from your CCN wallet address.

Take a group consensus as to if people want 1:1 reciprocity or to have a proportional reciprocity based on the coins on each chain.

Those CCO coins will be sent out via a core code change that will distribute the coins to those addresses.

from here we can do one of the following (or something else, if a good suggestion is given)
1)A one time distribution can be made which will dump all coins at once to the new addresses

2) a short term (one day or so) distribution over a set of blocks with each person getting the same percentage of their total coins per block until conclusion
3)a medium term distribution schedule of a month or so as described above
4)a long term distribution of 6 months to 1 year. as described above

5) one of the options above but with the number of coins coming in at once to be even above all wallets (with smaller wallets having their distribution finished first)

Remember (and i mean this not in the rude way but in sincerity) if there is absolute rejection of reciprocity, the CCN blockchain does still exist in it's current form because I won't be asking people to turn their coins in to get reciprocity.

please let me know what you guys think (in this thread please, not via PM)

Hi

Some of us who just buy interesting coins do not have a clue how to follow these instructions even if we were to exchange coins for CCO because tech talk makes us dizzy.Would you not condsider taking over C-Coin/C-Pay and integrating your coin into it as it is a very good concept in principle.

The coin works faster than any other coin I have used so far and the wallet functions perfectly.

If not then can you do a VERY SIMPLE instruction on how to change our coins for your coin as I am not technical minded. Also due to CCO having more coins than CCN will would we be getting a ratio based swap of more CCO per unit of CCN as there are less CCN coins in total.

Thank you

Thank you

Any reciprocity on the CCO will be able to be done with a script I will write so all that will be required is for you to turn on your CCN client and run the script I'll make and then paste the output. (I will make sure it is open source so anyone can verify it is not a trojan).

As far as continuing development of the CCN chain, I will not be continuing development on the CCN chain nor client.
I will be adding in features in the CCN chain as they are MIT licensed and the community wishes to have these features (the idea of c-pay etc).

I believe proportional reciprocity will be used, but again as I said there needs to be general consensus in the community. Also please note that the block for reciprocity has already been marked. That means that whoever had the coin at the time of the blockmark will have to run the script to get the cco coins.

What needs to be discussed thoroughly is do we raise the coincap to include those coins from CCN in to CCO and refactor from there, or do we adjust the distribution period and/or blockreward per block. Remember that CCoin (CCO) is not on an exchange *quite yet* because i would rather have all the kinks worked out in a final solution

confirmation timeS:

this chain has coin time of 1 minute which should keep the confirmation time fast. The addition of a 144-tap Parks and McClellan filter should give the ability to have the difficulty adjust upwords/downwards every 9 blocks (approx 9 minutes) and adjust over the last 144 (or 1/10th of a day) so at max the chain difficulty should return to normal within 1 days period and as such the blocktime should be averaging 1440 blocks per day (or 1 block per minute). Going at a rate much lower than one minute causes too many orphaned blocks and causes delays in transaction time and frustration towards miners.

If all else fails (and the CCN community rejects any possible outcome), the CCN blockchain has not been destroyed and no coins are required to be converted/handed in to ANYONE. But we're going to need to actually distinguish chains as the CCO chain (CCoin) did come first. (aka c-coin should rebrand by putting something in like naming it CoolCoin or something).

I appreciate people contacting me, and I'm glad we're getting some discussion going on. Please let me know if i answered your questions thoroughly or not.

I appreciate people contacting me, and I'm glad we're getting some discussion going on. Please let me know if i answered your questions thoroughly or not.

Well this sounds interesting, i will keep an eye on it for sure. Thank you for your work!

Where CCO will traded?
right now (the next few weeks) I would like to focus on getting every update in place before getting on an exchange so we do not get messed over by multipools. Although, any exchange can pick it up now.

Getting a coin on an exchange i think is partially the developers job but also a big part the community at large.

(aka c-coin should rebrand by putting something in like naming it CoolCoin or something).

thanks, you are more than welcome to contribute to any discussion/coding.

Early failure does not close the chapter of success, i will be watching this coin but mind you your beginning is not that good.
Waiting. Huh Huh
I think failure depends on your definition. I believe we had a pretty fair launch by giving a different type of user an advantage. Those users being ones that may have more skills with computers but no mining power (college age kids, people in countries where power is expensive but they can build the client easily)

Admittedly we did have some issues getting binaries built, BUT as stated, we wanted to have a community assist us.

I'd be glad if you are able to help us out by getting a gitian build vm going, or getting someone who can. it must be open sourced and proven to be virux/spyware/etc free (there's a 1 million CCO, 10k FRC and 0.02 btc bounty for that).

Gitian build vm would allow many more people to build not only the cco wallet, but any coin's wallet, including bitcoin.

anyway, I do appreciate the note of confidence (I think?).

Please feel free to continue the discussion

Here's some addnodes, also we have not yet begun swapping coins. I want to make sure that there is solid code before we fork because the coin swap will be done within the core protocol itself ad we are going to need everyone to sign their wallets before the hardfork.

If you are still having issues please respond, there are are large number of new nodes coming on to the network and only a few seednodes so it may take time. I'll also throw a copy of the blockchain online soon.

CCO,
I am unsure about anything CCN related, but I cna try to find them

if you are on windows:
go to windows explorer type in "%APPDATA%"

there should be a folder called "ccoin"
in it there should be a file named "ccoin.conf" if not, make it

then add the lines quoted aboce (one per line) and save.

should be the same process for CCN (but as I said, not quite sure but can try to get some seeds)

Just announcing that tomorrow I will not be around the forums as it is an important remembrance day for me

Any more details on how the merger will work ?

So what's the status of CCoin? I still have a lot of coins left.

My CCoin wallet V1.0.0.0 isn't syncing but it's been some months since last time I used it.

development update
It is going to be possibly up to a month until we have a majority consensus on what way to go with merging the chains.
I am going to give a time frame up to that long (a month) to get all the updates done and done right. (I'm redoing the core code to be up to date with the litecoin code. and fork our changes in (diff adjustment filter, auxpow (so we can merged mine dogecoin and CCO), the ability to go merged mining as a child chain (get mined like dogecoin, but not enabled in the case we would need to rapidly fork))

multi level alert keys are being tested now for completion in the updated release (so far so good, and hopefully we can push this code upstream to litecoin and bitcoin). The reason to do this is so each active developer has their own key, this allows the end user to know who sent out the key and what level their key is. It limits the chances of a hacker getting alert keys because it is harder to get multiple keys. This means hacking a low level dev's key does not do much more than cause a bit of a headache as a high level alert key can cancel alerts that are not life or death.

The update-release-candidate will be a hardfork and it's after that we will start pushing exchanges/merchant adoption hardcore. Hopefully by then we have come to a positive solution on chain merger ideas.

I believe that we will be doing our reprocity through slow distribution so as to not flood the market with about 20% of all coins at once.

If an exchange wants to adopt cco now, they can, but please give me weeks notice so I can at least do a rapid deployment of the alert key function and 144-tap Parks and McClellan diff filter.

That's good to hear, I'll check this thread once in a while. You're gonna need a good marketing team and some great features to compete with today's coins.

Maybe change the specs to a smaller max coins, like 75 million or something. I still would like to use my old aged coins I mined in February '14.

From my end of things: I'm still chugging away at code and testing it for stability.

I haven't heard from mammix in a long while though so IDK what's going on there...

As far as relaunch, i don't think a full relaunch is really fair to those who've been on the chain and mining over the last months and a respec would only be artificially changing the value of the coin from beyond the strict rules of the original chain and could be mis-conveyed as nefarious actions on my part.

As far as what makes the coin "unique" it's most likely the fact that I'm trying to steer the boat in the direction of development before mass adoption as I feel mass adoption before the allotted time is not a good thing.

But to give another insight: I plan to have a "make your own client" service that allows a person to register and request one free client build where they can select some parameters like the background image etc (so if a community wants to use the coin, they can brand it to their community).

I'm also making it so it can merge mine dogecoin where cco is the parent chain and doge is merged combined with the eventual multi-algo auxpow (merged ming as a chind chain) patches that will be added eventually and pushed to other merged coins so as to allow anyone that accepts it to mutually merge mine eachothers chains.

I have yet to hear back from mammix about assisting with further development/merging of the two chains, so unless I hear from him very very soon I'm stuck moving forward with the code update without cross chain reciprocity, and may be stuck not being able to offer it.

In simulations, the diff filter that is to be used is doing pretty well adjusting the diff up and down so that's a big thumbs up for everyone.

If another developer wants to assist me, please do respond and maybe you can help out with reciprocity or we're going to have to forgo it for now as development should not be halted solely based on one missing component.

I just rechecked in on the status of C-Coin after it's delisting from C-Cex and from what I can tell C-Coin may get relaunched if this goes well. Can whoever is in charge add an abridged version to the front so we latecomers can catch up? Digging through posts is not very efficient. Thank you.

After my last contact with mammix, there has been no reply.

I'm working on some extensions and such before I release the rebase.

I have an electrum client and a mobile wallet that should be finished within a weeks time.

these two additions (electrum based on 2.0.0 especially) should help people out a lot. Electurm (i'm basing on 2.0.0) has some nice built in merchant tools which will be a big plus.

Electrum also allows deterministic wallets, watch only wallets, 2-of-3 and a large number of things such as rapid deployment because electrum uses headers only.

I have handed over the ccoin code I have to the ccoin 2015 team, repository is here https://github.com/thecoinproject/ccoin/tree/ccoin2015team

the code was brought up to latest litecoin and added freicoin diffadjustment hardfork.

The ccoin 2015 team is going to be continuing this project and as I am able I will help.

the ccoin 2015 team will require additional coders to give of their time, they have a new alert key and have given me a copy of the key if needed.

Electrum wallet codes are being updated by the ccoin 2015 team for release in coming days.

their release is beta, and no windows wallet is yet created but they are working on it

many issues beyond my control right now are requiring i hand this project over to this team who i trust will do their best to make ccoin better

At which block number will the hardfork occur?
If we're using the v1.0.0.0 wallet, are we mining the wrong chain presently?

the current block for the fork is past, it was block 309724.

From the team (since they are busy coding)
"The old chain we are not sure if anyone is mining. If others are mining on the old chain, have them stop. Have them post block hash they found and wallet address associated with those blocks, we will try to see what to do. Please do not mine on the old chain"

Another said,
"We are near a new windows wallet so say stop mining the old chain now, use the new chain branch. We have a copy of the chain we can check if they are truthful. have them use ccoin2015team branch github"

tl;dr
use this branch/tree if you are making from source (https://github.com/thecoinproject/ccoin/tree/ccoin2015team), windows wallet is being built now. if you are on the old chain, they have the blockchain and can verify you mined it if you give them hashes they requested and Stop mining the old chain.

The block for the fork needs to be announced in advanced.

There are miners on the main chain and this is a community coin.

The main chain is at height 311152 and has been moving all day.

Kindly don't ninja hard fork.

Okay, thanks for the message WASPJoe.

It looks like block #311152 is a good block to fork because after getting the message to stop mining -- the chain is now frozen there at a difficulty of 2.57959286 and miners have ceased progress.
I am happy to test the new diff adjust fork and would be happy to join the new community of developers too. Where do they idle on Freenode?

If a date is not driven by consensus - - or other replies in this thread -- it would seem to be having the fork at block #311152 is better because that block was solved and the chain remained there following your announcement here on the forum to stop mining on the main chain.

I've actually been calling them on the phone getting updates. If you create a channel, I can come around for a little to check. I will try to get them to as well.

I'll propose that to them.

Hello CCoin Community,

Freenode IRC channels have been registered for us to use beginning in 2015.

You may join #CCoin and #CCoin-dev for support and ongoing development respectively.

If you do not already have a full-blown IRC client, I recommend HexChat.
Otherwise, you may simply use the Freenode Web IRC interface.
    http://webchat.freenode.net/

Feel free to run a tipbot, or other service in the channel and if you want additional access just ask.

Kind Regards,
-Chicago

I'm not in control of the code anymore but i passed it on, here's what i was told (I'm just a messenger in this)

"We need people testing that diff adjust fork. We want to fork ASAP tell them they need to give us a fork date, if not we will chose it."

Kind Regards,
-Chicago

I've actually been calling them on the phone getting updates. If you create a channel, I can come around for a little to check. I will try to get them to as well.

I'll propose that to them.

if you can build on linux build from this github to test the fork:

Think this is dead in the water now.
Joe aint even doing his FRC pool.

I can put a node online which has the blockchain from the point of the "fork" and share an addnode with you.
The forkers were mining their chain to collect coin at low difficulty and there has been no wallet released here showing any work since the hand-off.

May as well vote with your blockchain by consensus.

Come find me in #CCoin on Freenode if you'd like the addnode entry.

Hi MarketMagic,

You're on the wrong thread. This is for CCoin which has/had the blockchain at block 311152 since the announcements earlier in this thread.

My apologies, i have taken leave from the crypto currency community. It seems Joe has also left. If anyone is interested in taking over the project please post here. In regards to the merging of coins that is something Joe knew how to do and it is not something i know how to do.

hey Beastly,

sad to hear about you and Joe leaving crypto behind. I wish you success in your new endeavours. If you still have contact with Joe, let him know the pool is sorely missed, and whatever reason he had to go "Poof" in the night, well, I hope it was good enough.

I have not had any communication with him since about a month before the pool was closed. I am unsure as to what happened with him.
