Sry for noob question, but if I set worksize to 512 I get only a 256 .bin created (using 7950 GPU). Is there any way to get that sorted? Cheers

Again, rejects are the pool's fault, I think. Just play with the settings - you'll get it faster.
not obvious... on certain setting you'll gets lots of stale (which are miner fault)

7950s don't support 512, as far as I know. Same thing happened to me, so I looked into it.

I've tried MANY different combinations of settings - something's up with the pool, I'm sure of it.

If you have any doubts about pool settings you can try also VTC.HASHLINK.EU

https://ltcgear.com/vertcoin-alg-change/

If they're saying they already have ASICs for it, I call bullshit.

he probably means fpga and lyra2 code has been out for a while, assuming he works full time on ltcgear, it isn't impossible (gpu farm might also be a solution)...
I guess will see at launch...

Yeah, he might have FPGA code. A big might. But an ASIC? No.

What would be some ways to avoid even FPGAs (assuming he isn't just selling a ponzi scheme and that it actually matters)? Use AES-NI like cryptonight? Use a giant scratchpad like wild keccak?

hard fork to Lyra2RE which will land approximately December 16th at block 208301

Now is block 204990  Wink

Contest

You may be wondering, why block 208301? We thought it would be fun to announce the fork with a bit of a contest. Here are the premise and rules:

The first person to solve the following cipher will receive 2,000 VTC
The first clue is that 208301 = VTCFTW
Every 30 retweets of the announcement tweet will unlock a new clue
The solution must be submitted via twitter using #VTCFTW as a hashtag
Periods are literal and not part of the cipher
    The cipher is: 43 596 79n2g 0j47 596 tg8g42g 0gj 2087. 208 47 0gj o970 7g86tg 4pp92c042g 8t5r0986ttgp85 4p 0gj 19tnf.

Good luck and may the best cryptographer win!

I don't think anybody want vertcoin to become cpu only... (because that's pretty much what would happen...)

Boolberry (wild keccak) is definitely not cpu only. Afaik it's much less cpu friendly than cryptonight.

which card ?
(try to increase the worksize... which is a nice placebo actually...  I don't see any difference between 64 and 256)

I ran the new 64 bit linux wallet but it shows the older version not the 0.9.0 version.

Where does it say it is not 0.9.0.0?

"About Vertcoin"

Vertcoin version v0.8.7.3-beta

So this is qt? I'll check it out.

Yes. The qt version posted a few pages back.

It seems that this is the correct version, the version number is simply labeled wrongly.
