Regarding Lyra2, it is something that won't take so long for implementing according to my estimation because we already have code from Lyra2 creator. According to my plan, I will implement it after DEMO conference. I will try to complete it before the end of November, but it will focus only on Vertcoin core wallet. To GPU miners, I need someone who can implement it and I can provide the code. You can PM me for discussing.

Regarding Open Source Stealth Address, I don't think it is a major issue now, whether open it now or later, it won't impact on Vertcoin. May be it will open after releasing Lyra2. But one thing for sure is SX will open source but it's matter of time.

Regards

great news! now spread the word!

FYI: DEMO will take place from November 18 - 20 in San Jose

They will go from Scrypt-N to Scrypt-N + Lyra2 to Lyra2 only. It seems like a good way to prevent instamine of those with early access to Lyra2 miner.

If you read the whitepaper, the Lyra2 creator has taken GPU into account.

great! so we see good progress on that. thanks poramin! If you need help or if you think a promotion could be helpful just let us know when it is
helpful Wink

I think we should start a twitter / FB / reddit / etc promotion with info. graphics.

Can somebody create a info graphic about VTC and Lyra 2 and the ASIC resistance? Would pay some VTC for it Smiley

If new algo coming and it's purpose is ASIC resistance, the major problem is the lack of open source GPU miner. Otherwise the whole idea of ASIC resistance is broken, because if ability to mine coins only in fewer peoples’ hands there is no much difference from ASIC.

Mine darkcoin and get vertcoin. How does this work?
Go to the site http://p2pool.pl

multipool options (beta) -> enter your vertcoin address and push send.
If the address is correct - you get darkcoin address.
Start mine darkcoin Wink

Quote
miners -> p2pool -> p2pool_drk_adress -> send drk to cryptsy -> sell drk -> buy vtc -> send vtc to p2pool_vtc_address -> send vtc to miners

If you have nothing to say, just STFU. You can always launch your own coin with closed algo and closed miner so you will be the one and only miner there.

I've just bought 500 Vertcoin at https://www.litebit.eu and payed with https://www.sofort.com/.

I also know how to buy on bittrex and other altcoin exchanges, but this is one simple way to buy Vertcoin. All worked as it should and after half an hour i got my coins. You also get some Litebits (not Litecoins!) which you can use as a coupon for the next purchase.

Maybe some people could like it, therefore i tested it Smiley.

Edit: I had 2 purchases and the second one only took 10 minutes for payout.

With kind regards,
randywald

He has a point, everyone wants something for nothing. But it looks like one has been started: https://github.com/metalicjames/Lyra2-OpenCL

LOL. Did you read my post? I said that closed miners are the same as ASICs, not about freebies.
