We have just officially launched the Vert Community Alliance.

The official thread is at: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=764652

For ease of reading, the contents is below:

September 1st 2014

Today, Labor day in the US, 1-9-14 in the UK.

We launch:
Publically the "VCA" or Vert Community Alliance.

        The website www.thisisvtc.com.

The renaming of Vertcoin to Vert.

        The new logo.

And the start of something special.

We know that the community believes in Vert. We know that Vert can be something great. That is why, a month or so ago, we started an initiative to turn the tide and breathe fresh life into Vert.

In the run up to the new algorithm we felt that as a community we can't sit idly by and hold. We believe in Vert, so we must advance the project during the interim.

Today we start this process.

If you want to be a member, you only need to contact us (project@verters.com for now) - let us know what you can contribute, and why you believe in Vert.

Other than that, we ask you to work with us - to make something special.

If any service providers want a copy of the PSD versions of the logo (or other higher resolutions of either the Logo or the VCA logo - drop an email to the above address.

Any questions for us to answer. Let us know.

what is happening with this project?

It was on hold as i was out of the country and had no time.

Also there was only one or two people behind it (but with some great ideas).

Ultimately, the basecamp on which the projects were on was cancelled, and despite me sending them support requests they never reopened it.

So we can go with it or not, its really up to the community *not me*

Hello all,

Pleace help me!

I have 2 x Asus R9 290x video card. Driver is 14.9.
My OS is Win 7 Ultimate, 64bit. My PC use 16 GB RAM.

I mining in wafflepool.com (Multipool) and using Scrypt-N algorithm
Use vertminer 0.5.4pre3 .. but i have a problem.

Code:
setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100
setx GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS 1

vertminer.exe -o stratum+tcp://eu.wafflepool.com:3332 -u <BTC address> -p <password> --auto-fan -w 512 -v 1 -I 20 -g 1 --lookup-gap 2 --thread-concurrency 24550 --gpu-engine 940 --gpu-memclock 1450 --gpu-powertune 25

Written my unknown commands.

I decided to use old miner vertminer-0.5.2.
There everything is ok with this line:

Code:
setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100
setx GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS 1

vertminer.exe --scrypt-vert -o stratum+tcp://eu.wafflepool.com:3332 -u <BTC address> -p <password> --auto-fan -w 512 -v 1 -I 20 -g 1 --lookup-gap 2 --thread-concurrency 24550 --gpu-engine 940 --gpu-memclock 1450 --gpu-powertune 25

Why the old version and everything works with no new? And what parameters should be changed? How are the norm indicators for both versions - kh/s?

It seems to be the calm before the storm. Mining rigs are kicking in and we're all ready for what's next to come.

It seems to be the calm before the storm. Mining rigs are kicking in and we're all ready for what's next to come.

Speaking of mining rigs, I was chatting with someone in #vertcoin on Freenode a few days ago, and they were upset about the algo change because they've been mining vert with their KnC Titan, and saying how it's much more profitable mining vtc with it compared to ltc Shocked

I don't think there's too many Titans out there, but the Antminer L1 is supposed to start shipping in December, so the algo switch couldn't come a moment too soon, as I don't expect Bitmain to have the same delays and excuses that KnC's been using, and the L1 is also supposed to be able to hash scrypt-n as well.

KnC has not implemented Scrypt N in the Titan's firmware yet, at least not officially. They are still struggling to get the Titan mine anything but Litecoin in a decent manner. This information can be easily found on KnC's forum. If anybody claims they are mining Vertcoin with a Titan they must be better software engineers than KnC's. I strongly doubt it.

However, I think that there are scypt - n ASIC devices. I am paying electricity  only $ 0.06 (spring - autumn - summer) and $ 0.07 (winter). So I do not mining for some months. Are possible that there are GPU miners?Yes if steal electricity or do not know what they are doing.

I dunno, just going off what this guy said. I don't doubt that Bitmain will be shipping working miners next month tho...

You can mine X11 at a profit just fine, at least often.

If you undervolt your cards, then it is profitable to mine X11 with your electricity price.

You are seriously asking me to do the math for you? I don't know how much power your cards draw, and what hash they will get - you obviously need to test and get those numbers, then plug them into a mining calculator.
For me, no one needs to do the math. I've long ago did the math for X 11. At that time, for me it was a ridiculous profit (about $ 50 - I do not remember exactly). I am thought to You had some news for better profit. Also, 7950 and 7970 are fairly common graphics cards so I thought to them perhaps you possess. Still, thanks.

We need some traction for VTC!
