I am surprised that this coin does not move much after the segwit news was announced. Instead, the price dropped from above 100 satoshi back to less than 90 satoshi.
Will there be any news released for this coin in May? It seems someone has placed huge sell walls to prevent this coin from moving upwards.

You should not forget that Digibyte grew to this 100 from a low 30, so the bottom at 90 is nice. Segwit will soon really activate, so I would expect a price rise by the end of this week.

Question..

I use coinomi Android wallet right now for Digibyte do I need to upgrade my wallet to Digibyte wallet for using Segwit..?  What happend with my coins if I don't?

Coinomi supports SegWit for all activated coins automatically: https://twitter.com/CoinomiWallet/status/852130791362637825 so you don't need to do anything in particular

Thank you for answering my question... 👍

Most altcoins drop when bitcoin rises, and bitcoin's rising. The speculators dump their altcoins to buy bitcoins, but they can only dump once. Digibyte's price should recover when they are finished dumping.

The pullback looks like accumulation to me, but I could be wrong. Time will tell.

More than any specific sell walls, I see a very even stack on the sell side with millions (plural) offered at just about every price, but without that even getting out of hand. Remember, there are over 8 billion (with a "b") in circulation, and the total amount offered up to 135 SAT on Poloniex is only around 500 million, which is only 6.25% of the total in circulation. 500 million is a lot, but relatively speaking it's not.

This is another aspect of DigiByte that will make it great - the greater the float, the greater the liquidity, the more difficult it is to manipulate, and thusly is a safer investment because, this time with respect to pricing, once again, it depends on a much wider "distributed" consensus than the majority of the competition does with their "price discovery".

Go for it! If I can do it, you can too!

It's easier than Windows . . . well almost . . . but what you can say without hesitation is that the control and safety you get are well worth the half dozen more clicks you have to make.

I still use Windows, out of habit, and for compatibility issues, but I doubt I'll ever have to pay for another OS. That's how good I think Linux has become and how much better it will always be. The future is Open Source. In everything. It's an example of a very long "learning curve" that's beginning to turn exponential.

In any event, read up on it. You can install inside Windows, alongside Windows, as a standalone, make startup CD's and USB's (which are the safest way, by the way, to manage long term "cold storage" wallets, but probably not worth it since it's quite difficult and the alongside Windows is practically just as safe, and much easier to use), etc. It's easy, fun and rewarding - even when you have to use the command line!

You'll end up asking yourself why it took you so long.  Wink

There's still nodes and peers using versions 4.0.3 and even 4.0.0 .
Each digibyte core wallet owners should be warned when an update is available.
Is that so difficult to implement such a thing in the core wallet ?
I don't know very much about how digusign works, but could it be used in this purpose ?
I mean each update could be signed to the blockchain with its proof of existence.
So the core wallet get the message from the block-chain and inform the user.

I'd like to remind everyone using an NON HD wallet (like i do) to backup the wallet.dat as soon as a new DGB address is created in it. Otherwise if your wallet.dat get corrupted, a fresh install & re-sync with an old wallet.dat will completely ignore the newest addresses and you won't recover the funds received with these addresses.
New HD wallet doesn't have to be saved as often: one backup is enough, even the addresses created post backup will be recover by the old wallet.dat which contain the original seed.

Edit: I'm sorry, i was absolutely wrong when i wrote those words.  Embarrassed
My truly apologies for that. I've misunderstood what a HD wallet is, and also how a classic wallet works.
I've made the test on an unencrypted core wallet updated to 6.14.2 containing an old wallet.dat (HD key generation disabled),
and everything is ok : after re-sync, an old saved wallet.dat has received the funds sent to a new dgb-address created post backup.
Anyway it's still recommended to backup your wallet.dat time to time Wink

Well, since most light wallets that use a .dat file generate the keys from a mnemonic phrase, the generated keys should be the same with a restored wallet, and your funds should appear when the current address is genereted again.
