Hey guys, because nobody else has done this yet I have decided to write a wikipedia article for DigiByte over the next couple of days. I'm fairly new to DGB (thought not to crypto as a whole), I only found and invested in DGB this year, so there is likely a lot I don't know about it's history and it's tech. It would be very helpful if you any of the guys who have been here longer could give me a quick run down on DigiByte's history or even better offer to help with it by writing parts of the page.
The reason I want to do this is because I see a lot of forum comments on reddit, /biz/ and the like asking if DGB is a scam if it's real if it's a shit coin etc. I believe a well written Wikipedia article will help the face of DGB immensely as the devs switch (in their words) to 'marketing mode'. A wiki article will allow people to get a good, concise summary of DGB and make it seem more above board and legitimate. Not to mention the fact that searching for DigiByte currently sends you to 'AuroraCoin' with the comments 'Originally based on Litecoin with a scrypt proof-of-work algorithm, on March 8, 2016 a new codebase was released using a multi-algo architecture based on Digibyte and pioneered by Myriadcoin.'. Which to me just makes DGB seem old/outdated/less promising.
If there is anything you feel is definitely worth mentioning or any good sources of information to quote for the wiki page I'd be grateful if you could post them here!
Good thing. Because I am new to this and was thinking of joining in this alt but now am apprehensive with all the problems with payouts arising. not sure if this is the right place to ask this but is digibytegaming.com still having some problems on payout from playing games?
You see?! if you new guy to know about digibyte please learn how to click previous page, you will find the answers, dont talk bla bla bla when you dont know nothing

Hello Is https://digibytegaming.com down? I can not do anything with this platform anymore. I play csgo and it does not count my kill Payouts are currently stopped. For everyone asking about the digibytegaming project problems (payout paused) Jared- Digibyte Dev: "We plan to start to work on Digibytegaming on the near future, currently we paused them (payouts) because there were a couple issues with CS:GO and with World of Warcraft, the reality is actually there is no way we can securely interact with those two API's, the only one we can run in the future is League of Legends because people can exploit the game itself" I hope you stay with us and wait for news about this! LOL is fucking cancer and I never like this game. I expect that there will be some interesting games like cs:go, starcraft or dota 2 . They are better than LOL.

Aw my gawd! More problems with an alt coin payout? When will these fricking coins ever get their shit together and act like a professional company working with together in sync with each other cause with the holding company presenting themselves to all these big companies like Microsoft, blah, blah, blah it doesn't make them look to good in the eyes of the more important people to be presenting too... the INVESTORS! That being .... US! Lol!, take it easy mate, you should do your research and get reviews before investing in an coin for the future purposes.

A note on DigiByte Gaming: As announced several months ago payouts were and still paused. We received notice yesterday from Microsoft security center the site was being DDOS'd and we had to shut it down until we can repair it and do our planned upgrades or we risked losing our entire hosting package and all our other services. For those complaining about the site please note we paid out millions of DigiBytes in 2016 and early 2017 to gamers. This was all out of our own pocket to help spread the word about DigiByte. This is obviously not a sustainable model for anyone, especially at current prices. The site was completely free. We initially planned on having advertisers foot the bill for the DGB paid out but we were not able to bring any advertisers on board in time. Given the nature of cryptocurrency, this was very confusing to most groups we talked to. However, now we are entering a different era and more potential business partners are paying attention. We will be actively pursuing this strategy. Once we get regrouped and get the site restructured it will be a service geared for gamers with many of the features it had before and some new ones. Gaming is for sure still on the roadmap. In the mean time we are having some great success with DiguSign. Stay tuned for more upcoming news! Edit: It is important to note that we had several security issues with the games themselves that we could not protect ourselves from. People were able to alter the game code on their computers directly and cheat the payout system.

Help For those brand new to blockchain this is how a blockchain works. It used to take Bitcoin weeks and still, it takes days for BTC core wallet to initially sync on a fresh install. On a newer PC and average connection, we have timed a full fresh sync for DigiByte on average of about 3 hours. We are working to speed this up as much as possible but understand the more shortcuts we take, the less secure things become. And we don't take shortcuts when it comes to blockchain security. Once your wallet is synced it can be reopened and connected very quickly. If you keep the wallet running it is faster than any other banking service or system out there.

Will be back up for sure. don't worry It's just short term profit taking. Look at what happened to the btc price over the last 24hrs. DGB will recover shortly I think.

Not just $DGB, all coins are having difficulty to rise as the Bitcoin price is so bullish. Lets wait for the bitcoin to dump, and while coins are accelerating. Afterwards, huge pump is going to happened.

you have to tell what wallet you want to import, but generally all you have to do is use your private key on a wallet import function.
