Just my 2 cents :

- miners have RoHS, FCC and CE Logos -> AFAIK no mining product ever went through all (any?) of these certification processes, as they are expensive and consume way too much time in this fast-moving industry
( we all know time-to-market is literally everything )

- miners have one important specification missing -> onboard RAM (Scrypt requires large amounts of RAM as a core design feature, which is the reason they're still limited to CPU/GPU)

I give it a >98% chance of being a fraud.
(after all, there's a ton of eager customers who would like a power-efficient Scrypt ASIC as soon as possible -> lots of potential profit -> lots of potential fraud targets and fraud profit potential)

PS.
What are the odds of a supposedly completely new device with significantly updated components/features having apparently exactly the same shape & dimensions of a Block Erupter ?
Am I the only one looking at what 100% seems like "repainted Block Erupters" in the images ?

You see Erupters, whereas I see Drills.

just give some comments:

1. The scrypt hash function used by litecoin is just 1024 length, it can be done with on chip SRAM. Just have a look of the scrypt_1024_1_1_256 function in cpuminer and get some idea. GC3355 has on chip sram for scrypt.
2. It's true that this usb miner looks similar with "Block Erupter". But the size is different. Also the heaksink design is slightly different. The logo looks better. :-)
3. Please just wait reviewer's report for more information of Dualminer

ASICMINERS cubes and sticks have these logo's as well but i highly doubt they went through approval so this means nothing. Merely stops it from getting rejected at customs, IIRC BFL did similar as things were being stopped for wrong power cords etc.

Can these (and other, similar, dual-use devices) mine both BTC and LTC simultaneously? Or is the user (or perhaps mining software) supposed to pick one at a time to mine?

Thanks, I missed that on their Web site.  But on the first page of this thread, there's no performance info from the OP.  I reviewed all posts by the OP, in fact, and he doesn't mention the specs in any of them.

Another poster posted the theoretical stats of the chip they're using:

Quote
 BTC mode up to 2.25G/s BTC Hash Rate, with 2.4W/GHash
 LTC mode up to 60K/s LTC Hash Rate
 Due-Coin mode up to 1.75G/s BTC Hash Rate + 60K/s LTC Hash Rate, or up to 2.25G/s BTC Hash
Rate + 38K LTC Hash Rate

So two things jump out at me:

First, why is there such a difference between the theoretical stats and the quoted performance, particularly on BTC? And why is the BTC-only mode eliminated?

Second, what software would be able to use this gizmo to dual-mine simultaneously? On their site, they say "Customized Windows software with GUI" but they also mention Linux; and their screenshots are of a command-line miner. Depending on how the software is implemented, it may not be able to run on unusual hardware like a Raspberry Pi or Beaglebone.  Custom-developed miners are sometimes less efficient than dedicated software like cgminer or bfgminer, so we could be giving up precious hashes. Definitely need more info on this front.

Not at all related to this but I'm assuming the lower spec is because of lower power (needs to run off 2.5w total power)

Using chrome /google it is the controller   it appears you need this and a usb hub and the dual mining usb sticks.  the translation reads this allows you to not use a pc.  but the chip does not hash much in terms of ltc 40kh along with 50mh btc or 70kh alone   so lets say it is 55kh  not 70kh that means a hub of 10 sticks is 550kh almost  a hd7950  . so the controller handles 20-30 sticks 1100 to 1650 kh .  yeah you save some power but what does 3x 10 port hubs 30 sticks and a controller cost?

Wait, can't you just buy an R9 270X at 425kH/s and an U1 at 1.6GH/s for $300 instead of 3 of these at 120kH/s and 1.5GH/s for $300?  I don't understand the advantage of these devices.  Maybe at half the price?  Looks like Ebay candy to me.
