So instead of explaining away our doubts you give us a passive aggressive goodbye? Considering you already basically stated that you'd only do checkpoint updates (serious business) if the min block reward would be risen, aka a hardfork, I think that's quite the fortunate decision. For us. Not that many people would have accepted your crippled version of the coin anyways... btw: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Emphasis_%28typography%29

Also accepts the current state of the coin, not the end of its price: D but I am able to venture capital and the time that it spent much
nymusr hallo!
elmad, do you think that so little reward maintain the flow of coins on the web? Maybe you realize it looked like a case similar to q2c coins, low reward at the ending on mining

The main issues with the code now are a) no hardened checkpoints are added b) the private keys for alerts and synchronous checkpoints are held by the dev that dissappeared.

Tbh I don't understand b) (I think it means no update alerts can be issued, not sure what synchronous checkpoints are), but adding hardcoded checkpoints should be a trivial task, right? IMO we still should wait for krecu to reappear instead of looking for a new permanent dev, he's from Crimea, Ukraine/Russia, you know the situation there. He's 29, not too unlikely that he had to join the army for example or was forced to leave the region. It's unfortunate that he didn't leave contact info, but the coin is robust. Perhaps we should ask bitcointalk admins to send him an email in the Q2C community's name? I'm not against the idea of a trusted interim dev adding some checkpoints, infact I'd donate for that.

block reward should be increased , or increased gradually back to 2048. And yes I am early adopter, but I don't mine it anymore because I don't see future in this coin.

A few days after QRK block reward fell to 32, it's price multiplied by 500. Just saying. Could have 150k€ now, but sold it all for peanuts. Not expecting a price jump this big for Q2C, but if block reward would rise again, why should anyone buy coins if he knows there will be way more in the future? 220 blocks until block reward halving to 128.

Adding hard coded checkpoints are trivial yes. The private alert key allows the dev to send a message to all wallets/daemons, e.g. "Upgrade now..." The private checkpoint key allows the dev to setup a node to broadcast checkpoints on the network. In the wrong hands, this key can cause much damage to the blockchain, especially if there are no hard-coded checkpoints.

^ Thanks, much appreciated! I think we should do a bounty for someone making a client with hardcoded checkpoints, willing to throw in 30k or so for the beginning. You seem to know what you're talking about.

Increased? Why? Anyway, only few milions of qubits left, increasing of reward now is pretty bad idea. There's different problem with this coin. Difficulty. It's constantly very low. I'm mining this almost all time from release and highest difficulty i ever saw was slightly over 3000. GPU mining was and still is very easy with most of time difficulty around 1000.

I also never saw diff over 3500 in the time it was mined hard back in January while it was cpu only, after that gpu, but diff actually was lower. So if this is true, and intentional, someone could have easily raped q2c with gpu, while it was cpu only and diff stayed low as you said. That means qubit was hardly dumped, and we were just fools mining it.grrr

First, make a backup of your wallet. Then make a shortcut to the client, add -rescan to the target of it. Run it. If that did not work, try -salvagewallet. @ people calling for specs change: Why mine a coin with specs you don't agree with?

No dev, no promo, no investors, no community, no interest, no chance. There is so many other coins, it successfully outcompete Q2C. Unfortunately, coin is going to die with the next and next reward halving...

This looks seemingly illogical. Such as qubit theory resembles seemingly absurd. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Qubit_field_theory

Could have 150k€ now, but sold it all for peanuts. QRK is not Q2C, and Q2C is not QRK. There are different circumstances. Due to many negative reasons Q2C has not chance to repeat success of QRK. But you can continue to believe in Q2C, who knows... Be realistic
