nice article by Leon Pick:
http://www.dcmagnates.com/the-next-crypto-to-rally-nextcoin-showing-bullish-signs/
The grue lurks in the darkest places of the earth. Its favorite diet is adventurers, but its insatiable appetite is tempered by its fear of light. No grue has ever been seen by the light of day, and few have survived its fearsome jaws to tell the tale.

Unless I missed it, we could really use a forum thread somewhere for discussion of wiki translation work and reports for wiki debugging. It would save time, particularly for Joefox.

Hi everyone.

How about these for a couple of proofs of concept?  Two one-minute spots I recorded this evening:

General Nxt intro: https://soundcloud.com/whatsupnxt/nxtminute-0001
Nxt minute: https://soundcloud.com/whatsupnxt/nxtminute_0002

I welcome feedback.

Here's my take on the one minute spot, using joefox's example as inspiration, and trying to take into consideration all the feedback that was given on the big thread:

Nxt LTB Spot, Episode 1: https://soundcloud.com/bithic/nxtltbspot-ep1

Please give feedback on the content as well as my reading. Criticisms welcome, my ego is not wrapped up in this. I'm not trying to compete to be the voice, just putting forward an idea.

Ok so I'm not getting enough support from the community for it to be worth my time to continue working on this. So ill just post it here and you guys can do w/e you like with it. or nothing with it. w/e i wash my hands.

*insert intro* Written from the ground up with brand new source code, nxt is the first truely second generation crypto. By melding short term predictibility with longer term uncertanty, nxt's 100% proof of stake security model opens the flood gates for a torrent of breakthrough innovations. The ability to predict future transaction processors allows those processors to build trust within the community. This trust can be leveraged by merchants to acheve instantly secure transactions or by customers to acheve visa level transaction volumes. Nxt's 100% proof of stake security model eliminates many of the costs associated with bitcoin blockchain security. Costs presently born by the savers in the form of inflation. Finally, unlike bitcoin with its limited time block subsidy, there is no arbitrarily selected date far off in the future where nxt's security model will be put to a final test, if nxt works now, it will work always. *insert conclusion*

I am not good at this, but:

What you probably don't know about Nxt? There is no corporation or public leader. This is a currency developed and marketed by people like you and me. All changes in the code need democratic voting.
Did you miss on 61 days long IPO for Nxt? You can still earn Nxt by writing articles about Nxt, making infographics or videos! Come to the mynxt.com and join our boards!

Anon, I respect what you write about Nxt so much. I hope you'll continue to write material that can be used to educate and recruit new Nxters. Here's a proposal that I hope you'll seriously consider: how about writing an article for the bitcoinmagazine website about Nxt, in the spirit of this Ethereum article:

http://bitcoinmagazine.com/9671/ethereum-next-generation-cryptocurrency-decentralized-application-platform/

I think Nxt needs a presence on this website to compete with the publicity Etherium is getting from them, and few could pull it off as well as you. I suggest that this effort be funded by the community marketing funds.

Salsacz, what do you think?

If you are available, I'd like to interview you on skype or phone on some of the features of nxt and use it in my future videos as well as transcribe it into articles that other folks can translate to chinese, dutch, etc.

My friend Leon Fu and I already did the "What is Nextcoin?" video which is the #1 video that shows up when people search for "What is nextcoin?" on google.

I know I can replicate this process again if I understood more of the technical details of nxt.

I'm not a coder but if u take a minute to explain each feature to me (even if u don't want to be in the video), i can re-explain it back in non-technical terms for other non technical people to understand.

The only way to get more exposure to nxt is thru video and education. the more people get educated about nxt, the more they would be willing to put their btc into nxt.

Hello all,

Based on the discussions today in the main thread, and here, I've got two updated "Nxt Minute" bits.  I've based the text on the "most-optimized" one thus far, and have taken a stab at a more conversational tone.

My friend Leon Fu will be at the Texas Bitcoin Conference on March 5-6, 2014.  I will try to make it also if my work does not get in the way.

We are the guys in this "what is nextcoin?" video.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GG_E47oQpT0

If you guys have any suggestions for what we can do to promote nxt let us know.

Leon is a iOS programmer and has no experience in sales/marketing like I do so he is limited to what he can do.

If I make it there, I'm pretty much open to do whatever.... the downside, is that I'm not technically savvy nor a coder like Leon so I'm limited to what I can say technically.

If I had more technical knowledge of nxt like i do with btc, I'd sign up to be a speaker myself.

Any suggestions are welcome.  If we can do it, we will....

is 1000 transactions per second actually the max limit once the complete transparent forging system is in place?

I don't think it is, and I already regret recording it that way.  CfB has referred to "1000+", so I don't think we should say it's a max.

All the other suggestions people are tossing out are great, too.  We still have a day or so to tweak, assuming I don't get a total complex about the sound of my own voice before then!

it could go MUCH higher than that with transaction clearing. or without transaction clearing if we wanted to require forgers to avail themselves of greater bandwidth.

Hi Guys,

yesterday I received the German Magazine "Smart Investor" which is somehow a Investment Magazine for Austrian Economics.
What is at the front page: "Bitcoin vs. Gold" and big title stories in the magazine:
http://www.smartinvestor.de/uploads/pics/Cover_2_2014_200x283.jpg

So I would have a marketing idea: Making advertising with a banner at the Smart Investors Web Page for 1 Month regarding Nxt
Because there is now a huge likelihood, that people want to inform about bitcoin. The prices are as follows:
Fullsize Banner 468 x 60
1 week: 500 EUR
4 weeks: 1.600 EUR

More information here: http://www.goingpublic.de/wp-content/uploads/sites/2/2013/11/SmartInvestor.de-Mediadaten-2014.pdf

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Still interesting in my view:

would it make sense to spend some money to get a banner in big german libertarian online magazine? It’s called “eigentümlich frei” and they are in line with Austrian Economics. They are also Fiat-Money-Haters.
They have around 320.000 views a month. Online Marketing would be possible as start with a banner of 200x80 Pixel.
Here is the link to the conditions page: http://www.ef-magazin.de/adverts/info/

If needed, I could contact the guys there and ask for the conditions. But of course it’s youre call, if you think it is worth to spend some money there or not.

Those are really great. Getting close to perfect. I'd make two suggestions. Drop the "it'll only take a minute". Its sounds apologetic and I expect the next 60 seconds to be a bother. Nxt is a killer platform. You're doing listeners a favour. Talented people are going to hit nxtcrypto.org after, be happy they heard about it and want to get involved. Secondly, if "Nxt" closely precedes or follows the word "next", I would pronounce it N.X.T. The language can be a bit confusing.

Hope that helps!

Also, is 1000 transactions per second actually the max limit once the complete transparent forging system is in place?

I agree with buybitcoinscanada comments with one to add.  Compare the 1000 T.P.S. to Bitcoin's 7.  Highlight the improvement, otherwise it's just a number.

Great work!

+1 wrap it up Smiley

What's "instantly-secure"? This sounds like a meaningless made up term. "Instant transactions" is more than enough, it would already be a huge selling point.

With "instantly-secure" the listener doesn't know whether it's transactions that are secure and instant or it's security that is instant, or something entirely else.

Also, the first one is just too relaxed. You sound tired. Like "Ok, let's do this one more take and go home, it's 2 AM already"...
