Wow. Just had a meeting with a design mate of mine, who after I explained about what I have been doing for the past month is very interested in Nxt. He works for a company that at the moment is growing very fast in the smartphone industry. He is willing to invest his time and also in bringing in his collegue to design material for us and also has the contacts to create promo material for the conferences for us. I will send him all the material that has been made tomorrow and ask him to come up with a quick draft of his work. I'm going to work out a deal with them where they will offer to volunteer their services to give us promo and design support. I'll try to get his designs on here as soon as possible so you guys can see if it's the way we want to go.

I'm gonna try to concentrate on the energy-saving/green angle of NXT over the next few weeks, more on that later, I hope. On the RaspPiSolars.....I'm a big fan of ebereon and davethetrousers work here. Its fooking brilliant, lads. We definitely need some RPSes at any show/conference we attend. Have you guys got in touch with each other? And have u got some funding/promises of funding ? If I was even slightly NXT-rich, i'd throw lots in your direction. BUT: I don't like the swarming idea very much. As originally proposed, it was 30-50 guys swarming a BTC conference in the name of NXT. It could work at an event for the general public, but I think that it will only succeed in annoying people at a more techie/professional conference. We need quality people at the BTC conferences (as Miami showed, I think) who can actually engage with serious crypto-business types, not just a lot of people with no/little in-depth knowledge shouting that NXT is da best.

@Damelon: Hello, scary clown.
Good news on the designing mate. Hope it works out. I've got a few good contacts on the printing side. I'd like to see some NXT clothing for conference reps, and general sale. Are u aware of any one who has made some good quaity NXT t-shirt/clothing prints so far?

No, not yet, that's why I am trying to get it done ASAP. Would be great if we can work together and get a kit together for the people going to the conferences. Then at least we know we will be recognisable at all conferences and the people going won't have to worry about it anymore. I asked my friend to work on some proposals and he knows time is of the essence at this stage.

- yes, right now we should be open to all ideas - (I could for example help with the graphics/videos, after I get the true data) - working on Rasp. Pi for Berlin is in progress, nobody stepped up for getting rasp. to his hands for now. Our main speaker in Berlin McJavar should be prepared, but he didn't visit us in last... 8 days? There is a little problem - we don't have a table there, but maybe if we can somehow walk with it, it should be fine too. I still don't know how it works, if you can connect it to the notebook or even a tablet... - with the green energy we should have opened doors to all kinds of science events - expos, where are smart people, but still untouched by cryptos... that might be huge

I should have been clearer on the swarming thing: online swarming good, real world swarming at a conference not so good, IMHO Think the the real world swarm idea came from jl777, a few pages back. I posted a central thread for Berlin yesterday, but so far it's as empty as a politicians promise: https://nextcoin.org/index.php/topic,3739.0.htmlEbereon is in Southern Germany, so he should be able to get the RPS to the conference, somehow He also mentioned that he could post a system to the rest of Europe, but without batteries. Last thought for a while: are there any de-centralised/cloud on-line t-shirt/clothing printers ? I'm thinking of something like: www.threadless.comwhere someone could upload a logo from, say, the US and then anyone could order clothing with that print for delivery to any other part of the world. Problem with threadless is that they seem to only accept designs they like, they aren't in the business of just printing promo material.

I want to leave here a big thank you to joefox and all the donors for the reward received by us wiki translators. Another special thank you to salsacz and Damelon specially for the brilliant job they're doing - whether it pays directly or indirectly to us supporters and small investors. Man, I really wish I had assets for development or cryptography, or enough deep technical understanding to take on articles and start writing. Maybe some day I will... In the meantime, I'll start feeding quality translations, updates and contents for the spanish community ( nxtspain.org, twitter/NXTSpain) and perhaps use my real assets in video production soon.

Hello marketing peoples!
Great job as always. I have some small budget now for marketing and it seems like we finally have more funds coming in. I am trying to shake loose the 3 million NXT from unclaimed NXT the community kind of agreed to.
Nobody complained about it, so I am hoping that most of what the NXT marketing group feels is critical will get funded first from direct donors, second from the 3 million unclaimed NXT. As long as the amounts are not crazy big, the NXTcommunityfund can be a funding of last resort.
What is the expected monthly budget for the critical marketing items?

As far as I understood my guy is willing to work for cost (so that means initial break even for some investments). I don't know how much yet, but it will be low, as he has most of the contacts already. So costs would probably mean the clothing items themselves. They actually WANT to be paid in Nxt as they think it will be a great investment. (apparently my sales pitch was good ) I'm guessing total would be 20,000-30,000 Nxt at current exchange ratio (more is better of course, but that is the figure I kept in front of them this evening). That would be design, apparel and probably a few sites for promo thrown into the mix, because building promo sites is their core business and it would take almost no time to do for them.

I figure it is better to toss out all my ideas and see whichs ones stick. Kind of like baseball. If I bat .333 I am allstar James No worries, mate......sorry to piss on your parade. It's not actually a bad idea, though, just maybe the wrong context. See salsacz's flashmob/viral vid concept above. I can see a NXT flashmob/swarm being a really cool promo tool for the general public. @damelon: good news all round. Nice one. On carbon offset: I've done some very, very superficial research into it, but here are some (dodgy) numbers: Assuming a NXT network of 1000 RaspPi (non-solar) and 1000 small VPS, RaspPi consumption is 4 Watts (from ebereons numbers) = 35 kilowatthours/year x1000 = 35,000 kWh per year VPS consumption is around 10 -25 Watts (Amazon EC2+guess work) = 88 - 220 kWh/year x1000 = 88 - 220,000 kWh per year. This gives a total for my hypothetical 1000 RP/1000 VPS network of somewhere between 123,000 and 255,000 kWh per year. Taking these figures and plugging them into various carbon emission calculators gives us total CO 2 emissions, which vary between country, of between 88 and 176 tonnes per year (in the US) or as low as 20 - 40 tonnes in Switzerland. This gives us cost estimates (depending on project type) from 1000 CHF per year to around 2500 USD per year for carbon offset. Hmmm.....not very expensive, but I do know that the current NXT network is larger than my estimate. More brainstorming needed....

monthly?! Edit: isn't that rather high? I mean that as a neutral question, not as an implicit statement that it ís high. for nxt 2 months, then will obviously price of Nxt be double/triple from today, so it could be 50-100.000 in September..
