Sooooo, recap of this afternoon: I spent over four hours telling explaining Nxt and telling stories about the community to the designers/marketing guys and they love it! It was a very productive meeting and I will dump all marketing material to them today and tomorrow, so they can sort through it. They loved the logo, by the way. We will have some rough drafts for you guys to comment on middle of the week, to get the ball rolling. They immediately caught on to the fact it's an ecosystem and not a coin and how to focus on that. So, three new community members, who i hope to introduce together with their work soon.

Dear community, please discuss the following charity idea: http://nxtproject.orgWe could reach many early adopters of Nxt (we all are right now) with this project, since there is some economic thinking behind it. But maybe, there is an error in reasoning. Some overlooked problems. Or you really like the idea. Please express your opinions on this before we put this project to market or just delete and forget about it.

Here is an aggregation of collected news stories about Nxt. Keep publishing! And be sure to tag with #nxtcoin or #nxtcrypto to ensure your story gets "caught" and published. Sorry, can't rely on #nxt alone or our newspaper will be more about wrestling than NXT. We're working on that Nxt News Daily - http://bit.ly/1doEhWD

Hi Mario123, salsacz, and the rest of the NXT community, I have been in email contact with Pamir from Coinsumm.it last week on Wednesday and Friday. He indicated he would contact me early this week. I will send a friendly email reminder to confirm the details for the speaker position if I haven't heard back by noon PST Tuesday 2/25. I will post details as soon as I hear from Pamir. Sincerely, NxtMinnow

They immediately caught on to the fact it's an ecosystem and not a coin and how to focus on that. So, three new community members, who i hope to introduce together with their work soon. Nice work, D. Couple of conferencey points: I'm still ignoring the March BTC conference in A'dam, but the organiser is putting together some Bitcoin meetups in makerspaces and cafes here in NL. Just got a mail from him (Bas de Lange, btw) asking if I can give a talk at a meetup on Thursday: http://bitcoinobserver.com/news/2014-02-12-Ethereum-Bitcoin-Amsterdam-Meetup-ZB45-Makerspace.htmlIgnoring my lousy presentation skills and lack of in-depth crypto knowledge, I simply can't be there. Made a commitment to another project that I can't get out of..... Any one else feel like stepping up and heading on over ? I think it would also be a good idea for the A'dam/NL NXT posse to actually hook up sometime soon in the real world, before the May conference is upon us. Ideas? I'm still pimping the stickers, btw: https://nextcoin.org/index.php/topic,4181.msg39152.html#msg39152Edit: last point: I'm still not getting any replies to my mails to the A'dam Bitcoin Foundation conference organiser. Maybe she doesn't like the cut of my jib, or she's snowed under with work.....don't know. Any one else want to contact them, please give it a go: https://bitcoinfoundation.org/forum/index.php?/topic/652-bitcoin2014-l-may-15-17-l-amsterdam/https://nextcoin.org/index.php/topic,2277.0.html

I think it is smart and very logical to attend a lot of local crypto meetings, you can get more Nxters, you can sell your Nxt, find new partners, journalists... so I will for example be attending such meetings in Prague and Brno in Czech republic..

Nxt articles- still looking for green, solar, gaming topics Write Articles for Nxt, get 3.000 Nxt bounty for a long article or 500 for shortChoose from topics or suggest your own: - NEW: Nxt as a national currency. Coin or asset built on top of the network as a currency for African countries, casinos, local communities, travel agencies, hotels - Why is pure Proof of Stake in Nxt best solution for cryptocurrencies?-- frmelin: How is Nextcoin (Symbol NXT) Proof of Stake and Transparent Forging better than Proof of Work systems? (= prepared for publishing)- How can you mine Nxt only with solar energy?- How could decentralized exchanges change the world? (no Government, no censorship, USA, China...) - + decentralized messaging, DNS - - Decentralized internet and Nxt solutions: Salsacz [ submitted to 8 serious sites] - The 51% Attack - technical details, history of 51% attacks, how it ended, Nxt solution (is Nxt safer than other PoS currencies?) (Ghash's pool is risking Bitcoin's security again with 40% of the network's hashpower and no one is talking about it. Pools of PoW machines with enormous hashpower is Bitcoin's most pressing concern and biggest flaw right now. Nextcoin is the best answer to this. Why is it not being talked about more?) - Zahlen- Nxt: gaming friendly currency (vs. Litecoin, a graphic cards killer) - Due to Litecoin's difficulty skyrocketing there is a global shortage of Graphic Cards, which piss off gamers tremendously and drive up the price for grahics cards. NXT solves this. (Uniqueorn's idea, maybe reserved for him..?) - Nxt + Raspberry (+other similar platforms (Cubietruck)) (can be different articles, also short articles) (0 energy forging package) - Transparent Forging (very very technical, history of mining, comparisons) Shorter articles/essays:
- Why should you invest in Nxt? (/Why should you invest in Nxt long term?) - bithic- Damelon- many free spots - Why is Nxt so friendly currency?: (i) It *doesn't* have VC capital backing. ii) It *doesn't* have "slick sales guys*. iii) It *does* have smart devs and an increasing following. iv) It *is* delivering its promises (more or less) on time.) - more about the community, people form all over the world, community funding, decentralized company - a world of free individuals who all believe in Nxt. 1500 pages in Bitcointalk - bithic- How Nxt changed my life - Nxt clients: Damelon = https://docs.google.com/file/d/0BwAGADgnQcrtOThpREFkeHN3bXM/editFuture (short) articles: (now it's to soon):- Who accepts Nxt as a payment? (+ fee in Nxt vs. Bitcoin vs. fiat (VISA)) - Nxt invites altcoins to host on it's blockchain - Can be a new internet stored on Nxt's blockchain / DNS system? Have you got any idea about some other article? Share it. We would love to have more scientific articles, financial, economical, IT...

Most of the rewards for Nxters who are helping Nxt are based on this table: You can see it here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AgAGADgnQcrtdHRrV3V3Z1lzOXVEMWtqdElUaEtqV1E#gid=15Rewards aren't automatic, but they are based on a group consensus.. Even the table can be alsways commented by anyone. It should be a useful material that could be published at magazines, reddit, twitter, youtube, posterous... Or for conferences. Or for ads, like banners. It is always wise to consult your idea here, but not strictly necessary.

Conference call: Just got tipped by SalsaCz that the site is up for Amsterdam Bitcoin Conference: http://bitcoin2014.com/We have until March 15 to register for early bird tickets. I would like to have some real heavy hitters from NXT at the conference, because there will be some serious players at the conference and NXT needs to put on a good show. Any volunteers ? Before anyone points at me: I'm enthusiastic about NXT (and crypto in general) but I don't yet have the depth of NXT knowledge and understanding needed to impress serious industry players. I'm learning fast, though. We need a headliner, I can play support for the event. Any ideas, get posting. Salsa/marketing committee candidates/anyone else with cash:start thinking about budgets, and whether we would be better buying tickets early (with NXT/crypto low right now) or wait until closer to the event with maybe then a better NXT/BTC/fiat relationship.

http://e27.co/bummed-bitcoin-check-cryptocurrency-alternatives/NXT What happens when you do away with proof-of-work and use solely proof-of-stake verification as the backbone of your cryptocurrency network? NXT, which claims to be the second generation cryptocurrency, is what you get.
NXT was launched in September 2013 with an initial amount, or block, of 1 billion coins distributed among 73 stakeholders. Since then, these stakeholders have been distributing the coins among other users, growing the network until its current market capitalisation stands at US$60 million, fifth largest according to CryptoCoin Charts. Like Bitcoin, this 1 billion coins represents all NXT that exists, and proof-of-stake forging for coins only nets transaction fees.
Being only five months old, very few online merchants accept payments in NXT. One of the first is nxtBay, which sells NXT-related merchandise like shirts and keychains. Things get better if you’re looking to trade, though. DGEX is the main exchange for NXT, with a transaction volume of up to a hundred Bitcoins a day, amounting to almost US$100,000 at current Bitcoin exchange rates. There are plans for decentralised, peer-to-peer trading of NXT in the future.
