You should change its type in admin panel Wink so there will be no confusion around it Smiley

Thanks, did that!

My other rigs are currently rented, but I'll reconfigure them to Vertcoin after the rent will be finished (after 6-9 hours). Will leave a message here when I'll do the reconfiguration.

The whole point of this service is to offer your rig if you dont want or dont have time to scout for coins, but still want to make a bit more than on multipools, being paid in advance. Else you shouldnt offer your rig.

But at the rate that middlecoin is going today, it does look like they may hit .016-.017 BTC/Mh/day today...  Cry with my rigs rented for another 60hours at .0158 BTC/Mh/day

Oh no!  You might lose out on a potential $2-3 USD Sad

Actually if it reaches .017 thats a 5.80 loss per day for me, what to speak if it keeps going up, and for another 2 and a half days, that a potential $15+ dollar loss, or .02BTC

Can you please link one miner address on middlecoin that has been mining steadily who was paid more than 0.12/MH/24hours for any of the last 3 days?
All the ones I look at are getting around 0.007-0.010 while lease-rig has been paying 0.014-0.016 steadily.

They haven't been paying 0.014-0.016 steadily, Yes previous days have been low around .01 BTC/Mh/day, but today the earnings are doing very well, a lot better

According to the stats at http://stratehm.net/# Middlecoin has been mining for 13 hours and 40 minutes since last payout, from the hours of 9:30 - 23:10 they have earned 203BTC, which is the difference between (Immature + Unexchanged + Balance) from the beginning of this payout round till now. Average hash rate today is approximately 20,500 Mh/s.

The math is as follows to project the days rate:

( 203BTC / 13.67hrs ) * 24hrs = 356.4BTC is todays projected earnings

356.4BTC / 20,500Mh/s = 0.01738 BTC/Mh/day

So those mining on Middlecoin are earning slightly more today. And who is to say those earnings won't increase...

Catcoin just went through a low-diff cycle that allowed middle coin to make a quick buck.  It is over now.  If you are planning the next 72 hours based on a quick bump in 1 coin... well you will be frustrated a lot in the future with low returns.

I've setup a rig for nFactor, I'm testing stability now before enabling it Smiley

Ok everything seems to work fine so I enabled my rig but just to be sure it's only for small leases.

Remember that since hashrate is halved with nFactor, price is rated 2x higher.

Edit: Crashed... Working on a better config for cgminer.

I tried to put one of my rigs to VTC and had same issue - cgminer simply crashed. And that wasn't enough - it crashed my whole rig lol. I am not putting my rigs to VTC, because I simply have no time to prepare everything, but others, I really suggest you to - you can earn some extra there for sure.

Yeah it crashed my whole rig too. I got it working smoothly by reducing the difficulty, you may want to try that Smiley

Now rig is enabled on the site, running fine for the last 90 minutes.

When rig is disabled there is no [main] link, could use that.

Is the issue already resolved where when cgminer is restarted that the correct pool (the one of the customer) is connected to again? And also his/her backup pools?

Enable save command and will work.
FYI, for those using BAMT, the save call in the api will create a new cgminer.conf under /.cgminer/cgminer.conf  .
This is of course useless since BAMT starts cgminer pointed to /etc/bamt/cgminer.conf

A workaround is to schedule a job to check for updates to /.cgminer/cgminer.conf and overwrite /etc/bamt/cgminer.conf . This will restore your customers pools in the event that you need to reboot/power outage/etc. Unfortunately the cgminer.conf created is a bit over-complicated, and duplicates values for each of your GPUs, even if the values are the same for all of them... regardless it does work, and is the best for the customer.

Login to your BAMT box using ssh and perform the following:
sudo crontab -e
Add the following to the bottom of the crontab (This will check for updates every 5 minutes and only overwrite when changes are made)
Code:
*/5 * * * * cp -u /.cgminer/cgminer.conf /etc/bamt/cgminer.conf >/dev/null 2>&1
Exit (and save)

Also, please keep in mind that SMOS linux has a script that will periodically mine for the developers, thus robbing your customers of time. Use BAMT or SMOS bee edition, or manually remove the offending code.

Hey, thanks a lot for this.  it's a great help.  i have 3 concerns, but bear in mind, i'm a linux idiot, so please, speak to me like i'm a child...

1.  when i save the file - command-o, it says "File Name to Write: /tmp/crontab.xbPyzp/crontab".  Why the odd tmp path?  am i really accomplishing anything, or just editing a tmp file that won't survive a reboot?

2.  before i made this change, my cgminer .cgconfig file contained my pools and the rest of my cgconfig info.  of course, it also granted lease rig's server access to my api.  after this change, it now has duplicate entries for each gnu, just like you said it would.  but it still has my pools and not my renter's pools.  if i remove my pool info from my cgconfig i can't start cgminer without it error'ing out.  shouldn't i see my renter's pool info in my cgconfig file now?

3.  if my rig is not rented, it mines under my pool.  when someone rents it, it always goes straight to their pool.  that part is very reliable.  so why have to make this workaround in the first place - why not just schedule the server to force it to the renter's pool every x minutes, whether it needs it or not?  wouldn't that be more elegant?
1. Yes, it does the same for me. It does in fact survive a reboot.
2. I noticed the customers pools were listed last sometimes. You may also need to change the permissions on both the /.cgminer/cgminer.conf and /etc/bamt/cgminer.conf files, although I'm not positive. I did this step previously, and am not sure what's needed from a default install... I hope to work out a BAMT guide from scratch, unfortunately things are insane at work right now, so my free time is a bit low...
3. I agree, it would be nice if LeaseRigs would simply re-issue the pool changes every 5 minutes or so, but I have no idea what kind of strain this would place on their servers. Regardless, the workaround I posted should accomplish much of the same thing.

Yea, I haven't put so much work into "not so important" things on admin side. Customers side is the top priority still; we don't want any angry customer Wink

But will def. be fixed once in future.

The front site has new better look - now it displays most important data (available rigs) only and additional click is needed to reveal other rigs (not so important). I did this because tomorrow (hopefully) another great feature is coming that many have proposed already - it will not be exactly the same, but very close to and should bring in some more traffic and perhaps even lower prices.

It is interesting to read how many issues betarigs have. I even don't have to establish support system, because the few daily issues (0 from customers) can be resolved in 30 min time. Having no onsite wallets is simply no-go, too many issues (we know it - when leaserig was using blockchain.info API).

The stability also comes from using direct cgminer api connection (and not pool proxy) ... I hope you will keep that even if it is a little harder to configure for the rig providers...

Absolutely. The first goal of leaserig is to offer "direct" mining experience as if you were running cgminer on your own.

Yeah, that's the branding that you should work on - advertise leaserig.net as "LEASERIG.NET - the direct mining experience as if you were running cgminer on your own" Wink ... seriously, this is something that the people who are renting rigs should be very well aware of.

btw: another good thing that I like with LEASERIG.NET is the direct payment processing ... BTC flows very fast from renter to leaser and thus there are not lot's of funds "in the system" ... making the system unattractive for the attackers and hackers

There were number of hack attempts, so far all failed. I am not using some joomly-web-shit-exploitable plugins just to make website look nice. Everything is manually coded and double-checked. Like I already wrote on first page; if java and glassfish are remotely unexploitable, website and wallets are secure.

One minor, but annoying buggy: when my rig is rented, and I remove all my renting plans, the rig disappears from the list of rented rigs. I thing you should do it like this:

if (rig rented) then
show best price
else
show the price at witch rig is currently rented (and show in the list of currently rented rigs even if there are no currently defined renting plans)
end

I chose my minimum price based on my january average of 0.016 BTC/Mh/day on middlecoin. There will have bad days (like the previous days) but good days compensate. I think we shouldn't go for much less than 0.018 BTC/Mh/s for the moment.

I haven't reached even 0.01BTC/MH in the last 4 days on middlecoin, including today. Nor do I have a large build up of unexchanged like the main pool has, so I wont have a good day in the future making up for it either, I don't know why it is this much lower than the rest of the mc miners, my accepted shares are right where they have to be. Overall Middlecoin did average me over 0.015 except for last week. But I like the idea of having a stable income and being payed up front. I probably wont go below 0.015btc/MH for renting though, there wouldn't be a difference with mining for myself.
