bch will temporarily replace btc.
then pour the bch in btc, but until that moment btc will hang out for a long time on the minimum values.
Unlike traditional banking where clients have only a few account numbers, with Bitcoin people can create an unlimited number of accounts (addresses). This can be used to easily track payments, and it improves anonymity.

Any good coin can come up with more benefits, high volume, high user base and market capital and replace Bitcoin but looking at the current scenario, I don't see any other coin having that potential to replace Bitcoin at least in next 5 to 10 years from now. It's not because Bitcoin is the first player in the crypto industry but it has gained momentum and now grown too big that it is the only thing that could destroy itself.

Already there are many cryptocurrencies that are more convenient and simpler and technically more perfect than Bitcoin. But behind all of them are people who are known to society. But Bitcoin is society. Nobody knows who created it and everyone uses it. So nothing can replace Bitcoin.

The only thing that's constant in this world is change

And bitcoins would surely be replaced by another crypto currency . I believe it would be ETH or NXT .
It maybe a tough battle to overcome BTC but they have the potential to do so.

In fact, there are lots of coins that are more beneficial than BTC, but many people do not know them because their staffs are not really enthusiastic. BTC is a long-standing coin, they have been imprinted in the heart. So no coin can replace BTC.

I absolutely agree. Bitcoin, the leading cryptocurrency up to date, has already made its name in the market as it introduced the revolutionary blockchain system of payments. People are rather skeptical whenever its price decreases as they believe that bitcoin might be replaced by another cryptocurrency soon but what they failed to realize is its volatile nature revolves around that common scenario in the market.

Going back to the question, we should always consider the possibility of another coin replacing bitcoin as nothing is constant in this world but the chances seem to be highly unlikely. By basing it on the records of its market supply and demand, bitcoin still remains as the reigning cryptocurrency despite prejudicial news and announcements made by famous investors or large trading organizations.

Already there are many cryptocurrencies that are more convenient and simpler and technically more perfect than Bitcoin. But behind all of them are people who are known to society. But Bitcoin is society. Nobody knows who created it and everyone uses it. So nothing can replace Bitcoin.

Interesting. I do agree that there are superior coins that exist in the market which surpasses bitcoin in most aspects but what makes it remain on the market is the name it already produced throughout the years. Not to mention, the price it already accumulated from the number of investors it influenced has remained unscathed.

yes I think in the future bitcoin may have a coin that can compete with bitcoin because I think bitcoin is too expensive and is getting exhausted.

Every time there is always change, and we must be ready to accept the change, whenever there is always a chance to replace bitcoin with better coins, and whatever happens most important is that we always get benefit.

Can definitely see this happening, BTC was the start, it's like thinking the Model T would be the only car to be used in the future because it was the first.

Until now there is still no better technology than bitcoin. If one day there is a better technology than bitcoin it is certain that people will prefer something better than before and automatic bitcoins will be replaced by something better. If anything is better than bitcoin, of course it will be more profitable and super duper transactions more secure, concise and practical. Somehow, but someday there will be better than bitcoin.

The chances that BTC will be replace by something better soon is very low. Yes it is very low because we all know that there are a lot of other coins or crypto currency release after the high steak or the boom of bitcoin. But look at them know they are still in the bottom of bitcoin, yes they were also been successful because they also been a profitable crypto currency but they haven’t replace bitcoin but instead they become an inspiration to bitcoin to be more strong and built more to survive.

yes it may happen but bitcoin and alt coin have a special attraction for traders and investors Grin

It may happen. For now, Bitcoin remains the most popular non-centralized virtual currency, but there is no guarantee that its position will remain that way. There's already another set of coins inspired by Bitcoin. It may be assumed that significant development will be required by the new currency to take over Bitcoin in terms of market-building ability; although this remains unpredictable. Bitcoin may also be able to adopt the development of rival currencies, as long as it does not change the underlying basis of the protocol.

"Something better" must be based on something better than blockchain, so, unless there won't be any updates to blockchain or a new system, maybe it won't be anything better, I'm afraid

The something better here will be entirely dependent on the investors. But i will not really be surprised if BTC position as the best and popular cryptocoin gets usurped in the near future.

But something first has a special place, and bitcoin as a pioneer in cryptocurrency has succeeded in shaping public confidence. Prices fall many times but can go back up. Although there are many new potential coins, I think it's hard enough to replace the bitcoin position as number one, both on the chart and in the hearts of investors.

"Soon" would be in the next 1-3 years or so.

One of the biggest dangers for BTC is something more useful coming along and investors switching - a process which could happen extremely fast, once started.

So to all the tech savy people in here - what advantages could other cryptocurrencies bring that will give them a crucial edge over BTC, and how fast could something like that come along?
They actually have more than that. If for example someone develops private cipher they would crack it by brute force in few seconds with supercomputers.

No one can say for sure, but I hope that bitcoin will still remain the leader among crypto-currencies. It never ceases to evolve and improve, and it gives me hope.

The price of Bitcoin is growing exponentially, and this will continue until 1BTC costs between $ 20,000 and $ 100,000. You can distinguish four stages of its development: fermentation, exponential growth, transition stage, plateau.
