There are lot of investors who are investing in alternative cryptocurrencies like ETH, NEO and other than Bitcoin these days maybe because they see some potential in those currencies and organizations and teams who introduce them working day and night to accommodate every option possible to customers who are willing to invest in there tokens so we cannot say one of these currencies will never beet Bitcoin in the long run and the time will decide that

When the world speaks about cryptocurrencies they mean Bitcoin knowingly or unknowingly due to its popularity among anyone in the world as a digital currency and as a investing asset it is much popular even among top countries in the world so if there is a currency to replace Bitcoin it might take several years to take that place

It now seems that the topic of Bitcoin being replaced no longer needs further discussion. All coins are based on Bitcoin during the development of the encryption industry, although an ecology as powerful as ETH is unlikely to replace Bitcoin.

"Soon" would be in the next 1-3 years or so.

One of the biggest dangers for BTC is something more useful coming along and investors switching - a process which could happen extremely fast, once started.

So to all the tech savy people in here - what advantages could other cryptocurrencies bring that will give them a crucial edge over BTC, and how fast could something like that come along?

I think it could be anytime.it's just up to the project that will take its place.

all possibilities are possible, including all bitcoin investors, but those who are firm in their beliefs will not switch from bitcoin.
something new that usually promises something very tempting but the question will be forever like that? and the answer is no one knows.
people who have a long mind will not switch because they will think something that promises will not be forever, obviously they will remain on bitcoin which they have started from the beginning and they already know the weaknesses and advantages.

Possibility is much high because unlike those days competition is too much for one currency like Bitcoin and even when today introducing currencies are much advanced than Bitcoin and if Bitcoin fails lot of investors may loose there investments and profits due to lack of demand and low prices

when XRP users and the public understand the advantages, speed, convenience and many benefits that we will get by owning it then bitcoin will be under XRP. at this time the XRP community has grown very fast. Carefully study how XRP and blockchain are running, it's amazing

Yes, I agree that bitcoin can be replaced with a better crypto. Which one? We’ll just have to wait and see! But this is how the market works. Better products can, and will be created all the time. Aren’t you excited that we could have the perfect digital currency in the future?

There will be a lot of chances in the future for sure but in this point of time I am hundred percent sure that the bitcoins will be unbeatable for the next two consecutive years because the distance between the bitcoins and the other competitors on this league is very far the bitcoins is always to he top but no one can even commpete with the same behavior
I agree, The chances of Bitcoin to be replaced by other alternative crypto currencies in terms of market capitalization is merely impossible and will surely not happen. Bitcoins is been here for more than nine years and has proven a lot of things and make the impossible be possible, one of the best features of this crypto currency is its security that is never been hacked or jeopardize for a very long period of time or to be exact it is nearly a decade and its Blockchain technology is still running smoothly without the fear that this system will be hacked by those hackers. Bitcoin's top rank security that is proven for over nine years will always make Bitcoin on the top ranking of the most used and capitalized crypto currency.  Cool

I think that bitcoin has won its place in the world! it will be very difficult to replace the alternative with a crypto coin. Capitalization bitcoin is constantly growing, especially bitcoin today remains the most stable and confident crypto coin!

In the long term, bitcoin has very good chances to become a means of saving property, but not a means of payment. Logically, if we have a developing digital world, then the basic assets in this world must be digital, so it is possible that bitcoin can really become a new digital gold and replace the present gold. But in any case, do not store all the eggs in one basket. Bitcoin can be stored for the future, but today it's better to focus on making profits in classic currencies, and time will tell what we'll get as a result with you

I do not think that we can expect the replacement of bitcoin for any other cryptocurrency. I don't know a coin that can fully replace it.

I know that we can not closed the possibility that might be come if bitcoin is being replaced by something better. But, right now i think it will be hard to another coin beat the domination of bitcoin.

Litecoin will solve your question.
Litecoin has a faster transaction confirmation time and improved archiving efficiency than top math-based currency. With significant industry support, volume trading and liquidity, Litecoin is a proven commercial vehicle for Bitcoin.

What coin can change bitcoin? Nothing comes to mind. Bitcoin is unique about its technology despite the fact that a lot of cryptocurrencies have been created.

No cryptocurrency will take the place of bitcoin. I'm sure. He has already gained good trust from people and continues to develop so no one will be able to surpass him.

I don't think so that there is something better that will replace bitcoin because as far as I know bitcoin is on top in crypto, but who knows? May be someday there is something better that will bitcoin, we didn't know but hopefully none.
