So, What's going on? The price is dropping! I don't really understand if it's a big dump or other.
What do you think?
It's sad to see the price falling continuously. The week view isn't pretty. While on the other hand the difficulty continues to rise. This tells me two things. We have two groups, the onces who want to sell off now before they feel it's going to fall even more, cut their losses as such. And the other group who believe in Dark Coin, who are finding this coin and mining it hard to get as much as they can before the price (hopefully) sky rockets, along with the difficulty. You have to factor one thing: There are people who bought tens of thousands to hundreds of thousands when DRK was at 0.0000xx and 0.000x price ranges. These people are not "cutting any losses" selling at 0.00x. They are simply locking (major) profits. Regarding miners etc, as the difficulty rises (and it is already quite high) the equilibrium of mining DRK to sell for profit changes. This means that instead of mining/selling/locking daily profit, miners will shift and instead other coins will be mined/dumped. Those who believe in DRK will mine and hold and those who believe (but do not mine DRK) will buy DRK with the profits of mining something else. This will reduce the coins profitability but in turn, paradoxically, help the price. As for the "falling continuously", it's not an isolated incident that affects DRK per se. Check other alt coins and their graphs. But, at the same time, coinmarketcap position is relatively stable (we may pass worldcoin actually - it's getting closer). When was the price that low? I checked on cryptocoincharts.info but I don't see anything close to those price levels (0.0000xx most especially). I mean if I had known it was that low it would have influenced the point I bought in. Damn.... First days of trading on exchanges.

..... Tell me, WHY on earth would i care about anonymous transactions if i wanted to buy Amazon Gift Cards? .....
I don't know why, I never do anything illegal, but I am anal about privacy. family members are tagging photos of me on facebook, and I cringe, I freak out! I can't explain it, but yes, I want my checkbook closed to outside eyes. I'm already exposed, I've lost my privacy. Anyone can find me if they wanted to. My Sister and Mother use their real names on facebook, I can't imagine doing that, LOL, but I am being worn down. However, I truly think that it's not a good thing. Why would i care about anonymous transactions? I don't know, I just do! It's not the one transaction, but the habits being recorded. Believe me, if there is a way for marketing people to do it, they'll figure out where you shop, what you buy, what boggles my mind is that so many people don't care! These services claim to be free, but they are anything but. You pay for free services by giving them your private data which they sell on. How much value do you place on your privacy is the question? Just like banking is not actually free. Someone pays, usually those that don't have money - penalty charges, interest on loans, low interest on savings, and other products that are not very competitive. If the real cost of banking was past on to everyone with a bank account, Bitcoin, Litecoin and Darkcoin would go mainstream in a heartbeat.

I pressed the Demominate button. Entered my pass, it said "creating inputs"..... and a new 0.00DRK transfer was created. But I didn't see any amounts that I could send. Am I missing something?

Can I expect similar hashrates to scrypt coins? edit: I see that they are not the same. Anyone got a calculation, based on the current difficulty, for how many coins 2Mhs will generate?

Just check the official pool, its calculations are pretty accurate: http://drkpool.com/index.php?page=statistics&action=pool

It makes inputs that are compatible with DarkSend and puts them in your wallet. Maybe I could mark the transaction somehow. You should be able to DarkSend now

Just check the official pool, its calculations are pretty accurate: http://drkpool.com/index.php?page=statistics&action=poolSo if I were to move over, I'd be around 7900 khs, which according to that earns me a little over 4 DRK. According to the pool calcs and my quick math, that translates into about $3 right now. Is that correct or have I done something wrong?

Sweet! - Posted to https://twitter.com/darkcoinnews (Would love some follows from the community BTW) - This is my part of contribution to the marketing initiative. Hey Evan, is there any way you'd be able to present at http://www.coinsumm.it/ , privacy and anonimity in face of regulation seem to be two subjects that will be discussed.

I'd like to thank eduffield and the other developers for this critically important evolution in virtual currency. DarkCoin is what bitcoin should have been. Some might call it "Bitcoin 2.0" but would do better by saying: "DarkCoin is digital cash." - Child Harold - February 28, 2014 https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=421615.msg5424980#msg5424980

What would it take to get an Android wallet app like the one Andreas Schildbach put together for Bitcoin up and running? Oh, how easy it would be to introduce Darkcoin to acquaintances when all they have to do is download an app that allows me to scan a QR code on their screen, send some coins then have it pop up on their wallet's DRK balance) I've noticed allot of coins don't have a smartphone wallet (I'm disregarding the web-based wallets on purpose, lol) to speak of which doesn't make much sense considering the massive amount of people whom use the things as their primary communication device. Would anyone here happen to have the programming skills/time to do such a thing? I cannot offer much for payment myself (100DRK/BTC equvalent) but perhaps the rest of the community would be grateful enough to donate to the author once it's out in the wild?
This imo is a worthy suggestion for the bounty list being put together by LimsLims. You can donate to the fund (see quote below): Official fundraiser for Darkcoin marketing & branding
Since Darkcoin was 0% premined, we will be doing this the old fashioned way, with a fundraiser. Many people in the community have expressed an interest in pushing our marketing effort along. We wanted to make sure the time was right, while Evan sorted out the kinks in the Darksend code. But we are nearly ready to show Darkcoin and Darksend to the world, so let's get this moving.
I will release a list of bounties for marketing & branding in the next day or so when I have a bit of spare time. For now, you may donate to the official fundraising wallet (anonymously if you like!). You can also PM me with your donation details and I'll keep some accounting, if only for the sake of making sure your donation is accounted for and spent appropriately.
As always, you are a fantastic community and we appreciate your support!

Also, while I was typing, a pleasant surprise: Beta 3.2! Downloading now.
I would certainly donate to that.
