Why is DRK a scam and why do the Monero crew want to take it down?
~BCX~

It's not a scam and it's Monero's closest competitor functionality wise.

I'll never understand why people like to bring/take down other currencies. There's enough space for all of them.

My current deal with Monero ends on December 20th as we came to an agreement for 60 days of BCX free Monero.

Where we go from there, who knows?

They have however offered a proposition for DRK but I wanted to find out about it first.

I think they feel that DRK is why they are steadily falling week over week.

If a coin is good I have no interest in bothering it but if it is a scam, shit is on.

Let's hear the good, bad and ugly!

~BCX~
Yes, do us all a favor and find some flows and bugs in Darkcoin Roll Eyes so we at the end of it can have a perfect eCash

I think DRK deserves support from the community as Evan is really innovating and adding value to the crypto world. Darkcoin team is an example of innovation and transparency. Evan introduced the x11 the algorithm that became a popular alternative in 2014 and gave GPU miners an ASIC free alternative, at least for the time being, giving the coin an opportunity to grow before ASICS can be developed. DRK also improved on the KGW idea and created the difficulty readjusting algorithm DGW3 (Dark Gravity Wave) including corrections for some important attack vectors, I believe Evan solved the time warp issue that was present on KGW and other coins have adopted his alternative since.

Darkcoin is also the first and only to bring a working, open source, privacy technology to production under the Bitcoin code base. Darkcoin voluntarily requested an external review by Kristov Atlas and has received many contributions from different people that help make it better.

Next in the list is implementing instant transactions technology, here is the whitepaper on how it will be implemented:

https://www.darkcoin.io/wp-content/uploads/2014/09/InstantTX.pdf

And here is the video demonstration of the first instant transaction on private testing:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zBjUPj-TmFE

All of this development is done openly, we utilize external auditors, run release candidates on testnet for extended periods of time and fix any bug reports we get from the community until versions are stable for release.

Darkcoin is developing new features, publishing relevant technical papers, is fully open source and has a large community of supporters that work very hard for the coin. I think this is the kind of project that deserves your support, please consider making an investment or mining DRK.

Oh really? Can you show us any evidence of that BCX? Any contacts in the Monero community I can contact to confirm these claims: 20th Dec agreement, DRK-related proposition?

I've read quite some threats to Monero (and LTC previously) coming from BCX (whoever he is). Those threats never come true (maybe the ddos of poloniex??) and it should be the same again. It seems he want those cheep Moneroj. Does he have DRK? It'll add some sense posting it here - exit DRK and going XMR.

Are you kidding? Looks like a timebomb to me.

Would you be happy if 4 people controlled 86% of all Masternodes, or 86% of all the DRK in existence? And all those Masternodes and all that DRK were all on just 4 physical machines?

All four pools would need to collude against them self's to destroy their own income streams.

But yes these pool's servers could be "hacked" and used to do bad.

But isn't that the case with all POW coins?

Masternode's will solve this issue, its inevitable.

Why would you use normal transactions when you have instantx? Therefor more and more transactions will be completed via the masternode network, rendering mining useless, or just making it so a monopoly on mining has no security risk.

I'd like to officially state, for and on behalf to the Monero core team, that this is the biggest load of rubbish we've ever read.

We have no deal with BCX, nor have we ever had a deal with him. In fact, our many attempts at engaging him have come up empty.

We also have not ever, and will not ever, "offer a proposition for DRK" to BCX or any other trolls. What an absurd notion, we're not even in "competition" with Darkcoin, much less able to waste money on a petty spat.

Oh ffs how the fuck did we attract BCX in here. I mean he's not coming in attacking DRK at least but still every time he shows up it's to stir some shit usually.

For anyone else

Here's the main Darkcoin dev - Evan - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BMn1EB-eht8

He stands behind his product, the code is open source and continually being improved upon by what is by now one of the biggest cryptocurrency development teams and the network is incredibly robust and only getting better.

I'd like to thank eduffield and the other developers for this critically important evolution in virtual currency. DarkCoin is what bitcoin should have been. Some might call it "Bitcoin 2.0" but would do better by saying: "DarkCoin is digital cash." - Child Harold - February 28, 2014

Of course you're not in competition with us, that's like DRK being Usain Bolt and Monero being some kid at the special olympics. Smiley I kid, I kid.

Thanks for stating that Fluffy. Kudos to you.

And BCX it's open source so have a look see what you can find. It's a legitimate privacy project with an extremely dedicated dev and community. And achieving fairly stable growth. If you find something that needs work let us know.

Also this one as well is a great read.

In summary, the Intel Management Engine and its applications are a backdoor with total access to and control over the rest of the PC. The ME is a threat to freedom, security, and privacy, and the libreboot project strongly recommends avoiding it entirely. Since recent versions of it can’t be removed, this means avoiding all recent generations of Intel hardware. details https://libreboot.org/faq.html#intelme --- https://tehnoetic.com/laptops --- https://store.vikings.net/x200-ryf-certfied
