There are lots of alternative wallets, mostly wallets that are connected to blockchain as well, some wallets offer their own currency of their country, with this said, alt wallets will be able to convert btc onto their own corresponding currency, and some alt wallets offer you more security, I don't think that all alt wallets have the ability to do this, but for the sake of your bitcoins choose the wallet that will offer you security and legitimacy, this is important, especially if you are holding a huge amount of btc, take care.
Choosing a wallet that will offer security and legitimacy, this is very necessary. Nowadays with a blockchain system as a technology of the future but this is still a risk of burglary, as with the theft of the wallet, but the PC then at risk this will be the minimum
The trust scores you see are subjective; they will change depending on who you have in your trust list.

For the most part, in the event that you have a lot of bitcoins on a given PC, being additional mindful about outsider programming (be it an Alt-coin customer or an especially favor easygoing amusement) is fitting

I haven't seen anybody post about what would be my biggest worry if I were trying out alternative block chains. I realize this may be perceived as "Gavin is FUD'ding anything that isn't bitcoin!"  (FUD == Fear, Uncertainty and Doubt)  But I think some of you might be forgetting some basic computer security fundamentals in the excitement to be early adopters.

When I first heard about bitcoin, my questions were:

1) Can it possibly work (do the ideas for how it works make sense)?
2) Is it a scam?
3) If it is not a scam, could it open my computer up to viruses/trojans if I run it?

I answered those questions by:

1) Reading and understanding Satoshi's whitepaper.  Then thinking about it for a day or two and reading it again.
2) Finding out everything I could about the project.  I read every forum thread here (there were probably under a hundred threads back then) and read Satoshi's initial postings on the crypto mailing list.
3) Downloaded and skimmed the source code to see if it looked vulnerable to buffer overflow or other remotely exploitable attacks.

If I were going to experiment with an alternative block-chain, I'd go through the same process again. But I'm an old conservative fuddy-duddy.

If you want to take a risk on a brand-new alternative block-chain, I'd strongly suggest that you:

1) Run the software in a virtual machine or on a machine that doesn't contain anything valuable.
2) Don't invest more money or time than you can afford to lose.
3) Use a different passphrase at every exchange site.

Excellent thoughts and advice from an absolute professional and an exceptional specialist.

In 2018 they remain relevant and acceptable.

The Lightning network advances Bitcoin Cash by the number of active knots

The Lightning network, perhaps, still is at an initial stage of development, but already has more active knots, than Bitcoin Cash network (BCH) in network.

Yea, there are a lot optional wallets, normally wallets who are attached to blockchain additionally, a lot of wallets feature ones own cash from the countryside, this particular talked about, alt wallets have the opportunity to replace btc over to ones own corresponding cash, and certain alt wallets deliver a great deal more security and safety, Document don't believe every one alt wallets be able to execute this, still in the interest of any bitcoins decide the credit card which usually offer security and safety and additionally legitimacy, this is exactly valuable, most definitely if you happen to presenting a lot of btc, be sure.

Its a natural progression of any industry, however if you look at the mobile OS market its been dominated by a couple, in essene the alt-coins will undoubtedly be dominated by a handful, we anticipate significant consolidation in the virtual currency space in 2018 leading into 2019, particularly with the G20 in the latter months of '18 causing friction

Great advice. Security is above all.
If you don't want your computer to be hacked by scammers, have a reliable antivirus, be careful with third-party software.

Notwithstanding their Revolutionary Potential, Existing Blockchain Protocols and Monetary Eco-Systems lack the Qualities Required to Create Ubiquitous, High-Value Mass-Market Utility in the Socio-Political Space or, Domestic and International Commerce.
