At some future point of time ETH will make the transition from POW to POS. (By the way, does anybody roughly know when this transition will take place?) After this transition, ETH will yield some kind of "interest". Will the ether coins that are bound in DAO tokens also yield interest?
If the Dao decides to stake then they could earn some interest. However it's been rumored there will be a cap to the amount you can stake, I think it was 60k eth, so it wouldn't yield that much Eth as there will be pools and many individuals that will also be staking with the maximum 60k.

The DAO and ETH are close to each other. So why not?

Anyone else having trouble syncing? I'm running geth --rpc as usual which starts fine loading 256 blocks at a time fast (every second or so) and I'm watching the \chaindata folder adding files with current timestamps so all seems fine. Then after a few minutes the geth process stops printing new lines in the console and shows "Synchronisation failed: no peers to keep download active", but I can see \chaindata is still adding new files, but after a few minutes more it also stops. So I close geth and restart and the whole process repeats.
This used to work just fine -- even if I had a lot of catch-up to do -- I'd just let it run for a few hours and it would catch up and then increment by 1 block every few minutes to keep in sync. The same pattern has been happening for the past several days. I have 50/5 internet and a good wifi connection.
Anyone know what might be causing this?

https://blog.ethereum.org/2016/03/05/serenity-poc2/ more details here technical Serenity PoC2 Posted by Vitalik Buterin on March 5th, 2016. More precise validator induction rules – maximum 250 validators, minimum ether amount starts off at 1250 ETH and goes up hyperbolically with the formula min = 1250 * 250 / (250 - v) where v is the current active number of validators (ie. if there are 125 validators active, the minimum becomes 2500 ETH, if there are 225 validators active it becomes 12500 ETH, if there are 248 validators active it becomes 156250 ETH). When you are inducted, you can make bets and earn profits for up to 30 million seconds (~1 year), and after that point a special penalty of 100 parts per billion per block starts getting tacked on, making further validation unprofitable; this forces validator churn 156k ETH from us will give us a nice steady side income while other bigger projects are working away. i think we should make a DAO proposal for the ulitmate ETH pool,Maybe we could switch ETH annually to avoid validator churn too. Any thoughts guys?

https://poloniex.com/dao/To acquire DAO tokens, you can use this page to transfer Ethereum from your Poloniex account to the DAO smart contract. This will appear as an ETH withdrawal in your transaction history. Poloniex will not be charging a network fee for these transactions.

Hey guys,
I just started my miner on the ethpool.org.
I use claymore and I get 61,5 MH/s. Have submitted 120 shares now.
The pool does show me this 61,5 MH/s but it still shows 0 shares..
Am I doing something wrong or does it take time until the shares are shown?
It's running for about 3 hours now.
