Is it easier to just mine ETH with a standalone miner to a pool and then cash out to an exchange instead of setting up the Core wallet ?

for everyone that needs a blockchain bootstrap:

http://cryptochainer.com/dir/

That bootstap file is clever. It anyway will take time, but once there is no need to have internet connection during synchronization it is better. I have used it with some other cryptos.

So, once I have downloaded the Ethereum bootstrap file, what I has to do?

One more question.

What is the difference between current blockchain and bootstrap?

It depends on the pool. Some pool allow you to mine directly to an exchange wallet. Some do not.

......(( as long as u trust the site ))no difference but the boostrap ,the most of the times, is smaller so after u download the bootstrap, syncronize yr internet clock then open the wallet and let syncronize....

Much - most pools have a minimum payout of 1 ETH, which is the same as the min deposit at Poloniex.
Not only is it easier to set up, but the difficulty is so high now that all but the biggest farms need to pool mine.

Besides to not downloading new blocks, it puzzles me why the hell is trashing my hard drive constantly, is so bad the trashing of the drive that i almost cannot do anything else with this machine while geth is working, and... working on WHAT if it is not downloading s#it Huh can anyone explain this?

not to mention the wallet itself (0.7.4 x64 windows) that takes about 40 seconds to load and trashes so bad the hard drive, that if i load the wallet while i am downloading the updates with geth (when it is working) it stops working, due to hdd lag.

btw hard drive is a defragmented WD Black 1TB, 4 Gb of ram on this machine, i had to practically dedicate this machine exclusively to this thing.

It depends on the pool. Some pool allow you to mine directly to an exchange wallet. Some do not.

I tried it that, but btc-e says it does not accept transfers from the pool directly
dunno about poloniex

if I could do that, i wouldn't mind dealing with this crap, i do it because i have no choice, i need to transfer from the pool to my wallet and then send it to the exchange, if there is another way pretty please!!! tell me  Grin

I am using a pool with auto exchange but i don't think it's being fair, i am pushing 220 MH, with that amount of power i should be doing like 2 ETH per day and i am being credited with 1.7 ETH, but this is the only pool i found with auto exchange to BTC or LTC.

there are other probably far better pools out-there but none of them auto-exchange, so i need to figure how to transfer funds to the exchange, that's why i deal with this.

[EDIT] solo mining is out of the question, with my pityful 220MH a single orphan would kill me, with current difficulty i will need over 400MH to even think about doing solo.

same here, restarting geth every then minutes for the past 2 weeks.
when i get up at night to go to the head, i touch the machine and automatically restart geth, i even do it in my sleep, like a sleep walker haha  Grin

I went through this too when I first got involved with ETH.  I didn't didn't get a response with a working solution either.  I switched back and forth between the wallet and geth for a week and a half before getting the block chain caught up.  Like you, it was stopping every 15 minutes.  I have no idea why.  However, I moved my wallet to a different system and on the new system it ran almost non-stop until it caught up in less than 48 hours!  Again, I have no idea why.  Both systems were Windows 7 SP1 on the same LAN using the same broadband connection.  There must be something about the first system that ETH didn't like.

If you are looking for technical solutions or answers to questions like yours, I don't think you will find them in this forum.

bittrex allows you to mine from the pool (nanopool) straight to a bittrex account. then exchange to btc and transfer out.

no idea if fees etc are good/bad compared to other places, its just what i used till mist got synced up.

now i mine to mist but mist is not ready for prime time.

btw a ssd help hugely for wallets.

I wasn't expecting "official" help, i am more get used to hands-on users like you, usually, like in this case, they been there, and know better, again, like you Smiley

Good advice i will move it to another machine and try again, i am close to completion anyway, block 1300000

will try that pool/xchg thanks!.
yes i thought about the SSD but i don't have any free ssd, they are all working on different things, and i don't like the idea of use the same one i use for the BTC primary wallet Sad, but i could toss a WD velociraptor i got laying around collecting dust, that probably would help   Smiley

The dollar price dropped 20% from the peak. In the digital coin world, 20% price drop is almost nothing.

Ether is steadily growing even with BTC halving pump and without major news these days, can't wait for some dapp action or some Vitalik press conference.

After BTC halving bubble explodes i expect most of the funds to go into Ether and Lisk which will get us to the moon.

After this halving there is another BTC halving in 4 years. When will be the ETH halving?

never in the proof of work phase.

the reward structure will likely be modified upon proof of stake implementation though.

Yeah this is correct, Ether roadmap is not determined, but from Vitalik interview, Ethereum should move to POS by the beginning of 2017. which would suppose to rise the price of Ether since there will no longer be 18 millions coins produced yearly but only 0-2 millions.
