If you followed my recommendation to get out of the market a couple days ago you would be a happy camper with $80 cheaper eth and $1000 dollar cheaper btc. Only at the Cryptol0gy Discord lol (ready for downvotes).

Even if it goes down to 2800 like I think it still might, I'll be sitting on a lot more eth and btc.

I bought some Ether today and stored them on myetherwallet. I want to transfer them to a local desktop wallet. What is the best lightweight Ethereum wallet what does not need to download entire blockchain and where I can manage tokens? Last feature is essential for me because I own some ERC20 tokens and I want to manage them via the client.

Ethereum’s evolution into Metropolis is a case study into the multidisciplinary, dynamic inner workings of how the decentralized application platform functions. The Ethereum Foundation has been planning for this moment. Top level developers have been redoubling their efforts to develop the technologies and game theory schemes necessary to implement a highly tailored approach to reaching consensus that will shepherd the ecosystem into a new age. This is Ethereum’s next big step forward and the developers behind it have designed the transition to be as smooth as possible.

It is very interesting to reread the first pages of this thread after that we know how the project has then evolved. It is like rewinding history and see all both silly and visionary things which has been said in early stages.

Ethereum Price Analysis: ETH/USD Defies Gravity

Ether found support after a sharp decline towards the $200.00 handle against the US Dollar.
There is a reversal pattern forming on the 6-hour chart of ETH/USD, but needs a close above $272.00 for confirmation.
Gains in ETH/BTC were limited since bitcoin price trimmed most of its losses, keeping ETH/BTC below 0.070BTC.

I think there is no need to worry about the price. If there is good development, the price will rise eventually.

How will ethereum be affected by future securities regulations if exchanges are not allowed to trade tokens classed as a security?

I have some questions, I have not been follow in the Chinese news. Some exchanges are closing down, not all though?
I see Bobby Lee says his exchange is unaffected...?
I am very confused.
This seems like a mess. Can someone please give me a summary.
Are all exchanges closing or just some?
Will some exchanges still allow fiat to crypto in China?

The general sentiment across all subs is that people are waiting to buy another dip.
Seemingly a lot of people missed the first one.
This likely means all the sell pressure being caused by China is now met by buy pressure of FOMO...
Sideways for the weekend without major news?

If you had money on a Chinese exchange, and saw that they were going to halt fiat trading, wouldn't you be desperate to withdrawal your money asap just in case the exchange doesn't have a full reserve?
Or I guess it's even possible the Gov would step in and help rectify that, but I'd still be very anxious.
I know BTC and Eth are down today, but they are holding better than I would have thought.

Any new developments in last 6 hours while I was AFK?
Last time I checked FUD of the day was:
1) OKCoin and Huobi will not trade crypto->crypto after 31st of Oct ... (This was spread by cainix?) Is this verified?
2) China will block western exchanges by GFW? -> Rumor started on Twitter spread by Tronix guy... Any news? Any other stories
Is there anything else?

There are many people who missed out buying the bottom of this dip (as with all dips). Now they are sitting on the sidelines waiting, praying for another dip to $200. They are hoping for more "bad news" from China to answer their prayers. "This time I will go all in".
Even if there is more "bad news" from China the odds of the price reaching the low again are highly unlikely. The bottom of the dip has been established therefore inexperienced traders will set that as their buy target. It won't reach that target because experienced traders will buy well before that leaving you in the dust again to FOMO back in and pull the price up. You also have to take into account we just had a huge drop and people won't be shaken as easy again.
Moral of the story don't wait for the expected bottom you have to get in well before it.

If the market is just easily manipulated and there are controlled pumps and dumps, is there really a point of calling this an investment based on fundamentals anymore? Seems like now it is more of a guessing game, even holding there is no telling whether the fact that how great this technology is for our future is going to even matter when you can just throw paper money at it to make it go up or down when you please. Maybe a bit dramatic but I don't see how we can say fundamentals play any role in crypto at this point, other than the fact that the mania surrounding it will continue to have people looking to invest in something volatile means it will keep growing the more that fiat is printed. Please feel free to argue against this sentiment, just trying to figure out whether this is based on technological fundamentals anymore or if it ever will be (yes I know POS, POS, POS, RAIDEN, METROPOLIS but we all know we just follow BTC no matter ETHs developments).

Unfortunately I have not received an answer to my below question yet. Can anyone answer it?

I bought some Ether today and stored them on myetherwallet. I want to transfer them to a local desktop wallet. What is the best lightweight Ethereum wallet what does not need to download entire blockchain and where I can manage tokens? Last feature is essential for me because I own some ERC20 tokens and I want to manage them via the client.

I have another question. How does the gas price works for Ethereum? I mean if I transfer Ether or ERC20 tokens I have to pay Gas. Where do I get Gas and how is it releated to my Ether coins? Do I need to exchange some Ether for Gas in order to send tokens?

And is the coin Gas related to this in any way or is it just a coin with the same name?

Hey ETH Community.
Created this ETH related .999 Silver round and am ACCEPTING ETH in trade.

There's a FULL ANN THREAD in Bitcoin Forum > Economy > Marketplace > Goods > Collectibles
@The Liberty CryptoDollar ALTCOIN SPECIE (1oz .999 Silver/AltCoins Accepted)

The 2018 'Liberty CryptoDollar' is the first in a series of next generation 'AltCoin Specie' intended to expand awareness of alternative currency economics by providing a bridge for non-bitcoin users with an innovative and attractive numismatic offering.

Simply scan the QR code to swiftly present the user with the current and accurate SPOT value for 'One Ounce Fine Silver' against a handful of virtual and fiat currencies.  Currently: BTC, ETH, DASH, XMR, LTC & DOGE

This coin is uniquely suited for gift-givers, alternative currency collectors and investment enthusiasts alike.

Right now I'm in the Collectors piece phase of production.
Will have much cheaper SATIN FINISH rounds available January 1st 2018.

  DESIGN STATS:
  • COMPOSITION:  .999 Fine Silver
  • WEIGHT: 1 TROY OUNCE
  • Obverse: Liberty Dollar 20th Anniversary
  • Reverse: ETH QR Code 'Price Tag'

CONVERT ETH to 1oz. .999 SILVER SPOT PRICE
Instantly show you what 1oz Silver is worth in ETH

Note: While some may call them 'Physical Bitcoins', Liberty Crypto-Dollars (ALTCOIN SPECIE) are fundamentally different from Casascius coins. Liberty Crypto-Dollars merely provide a means to return an accurate/current SPOT value of the bullion. They are not useful as wallets, or as containers for bitcoin in any way.

You could say the same thing about stock markets. But no there is a lot more to investing in crypto than a "guessing game"
