Investing in Eth brought me very big losses this year. I hoped that the price of Eth would rise to $ 2,000 per coin by the end of 2018. But I was stupid.

sell your coins, and we will be happy to buy them cheap

every time bitcoin falls after the peak of 5 times, below will not go

250 - 50
1000 - 200
20000 - 4000

Nice copypasta from the bitcoin wall thread.
But this is ETH and has dropped already 85% from its ATH.

"Sharding by 2020"... Seriously, sharding is taking way too much time. Ethereum will be left behind in the dust if other smart-contract platforms like Cardano successfully develop a 100% complete infrastructure for smart-contracts along with the side-chains before Ethereum's sharding is developed completely.

Serenity Is Moving Really Fast, Sharding By 2020

https://ethereumworldnews.com/ethereum-developer-serenity-is-moving-really-fast-sharding-by-2020/

Agreed with you now ETH have so many competitors who are moving really fast as compare with the development process of this platform. There is big competition who will provide the best platform for smart contract this is interesting to watch what is happening right now.
eth having competitors but still eth is best is all of them
most ICOs now are based on eth coin. for now eth is down but i think its temporary
eth price is going down with BTC but one thing is not good that eth is now on number 3 on coinmarketcap
i hope when price starting to recover then eth will take the lead on XRP

If you have sold all your coins or their part, then of course you have lost money, but if you still keep them or buy them at a fall in prices, then you don’t lose anything.

Yes, it is not a wise decision to sell the current situation of the market. So we should focus on more holding by buying them at the current situation. ETH is very huge potential while other coins prices are increasing we should not bother about ETH.

Actually you can sell and buy back at a lower price if the bitcoin downward continues, you can also invest on some strong project don`t be afraid to buy and sell that`s what traders do even if the market is into slump.

Whenever next uptrend will be that should be historic because big companies have values in trillions those are going to jump on this in first quarter of next year. Cryptomarkets didn't touch even 900 billions and it was looking like dreams come true. When couple of trillions will be injected in this market where every tokens will be reaching. In bearish markets all this looks like speculation and dreamy but it matter of time when that money will join cryptomarkets.

Bitcoin has almost X5.86 more bigger market cap than you can calculate by yourself how bigger it need to reach there and where should it will go. From my point of view after 4 years Bitcoin will be around 250k because it has potential.

It's interesting with ETC indeed.
The Ethereum Foundation keeps praising ETC and donating money to them, like last time $150,000
https://medium.com/@virgilgr/special-projects-announces-donation-to-ethereum-classic-cooperative-e3bc28c95d0
Vitalik Buterin always talk rubbish about ETH and its price, and instead always praises ETC.

have you an idea of the real reason?

As I said before, they could be playing the "compassionate / philantropist / charitable" persona just to attract more prestige.

Other than that, a theory is that Buterin could have been really bitter that he misses the bullrun of his own creation (apparently he sold almost all his ETH when the price was single digit) that now all he feels is resentment for those who instead could profit on it.

Either way, with ETC you have everything good about ETH without the bad parts.
Its market cap sitting at 4% of that of ETH makes it a good buy IMO.
Also don't forget it's one of the big 5 on coinbase's home page.

Just like Bitcoin, Ethereum had it fair share of booms and busts in the past, even though its much newer.

It had a very succesful launch back in Summer of 2015 but at the end of the year, it broke $1/per ETH.

Then in the Summer of 2016, it reached a high of $15 or so and then due to the DAO hack it kept crashing down to like $7 or so.

Same thing in Summer of 2017, it peaked at $400 and went almost to $100 right before hitting the $1400 ATH in 2018.

If you believe in the technology then just hold your coins, don't buy more or overinvest if you don't think you can deal with the financial losses however.

I don't mind their technology level, I admit after bitcoin they have the most talented and productive team behind any cryptocurrency.
What concerns me is the fundamental wrong direction things have went in terms of the actual service the coin intends to deliver.

Yes definite optimism is needed. This is the era of Decentralization and AI. We still have miles to go. Ether will survive, we just need to see the possibilities.

we are at the same difficulty that was on February 2018.  Cool

and the hashrate & diff has a downtrend
those who are still mining ETH are getting good rewards (speaking in coins, not in fiat)

If you don't believe it or don't get it, I don't have the time to try to convince you, sorry.

It is just $4B gap but in long term it will become hard for XRP to keep maintain this level. I also have very good hope about the future of ETH sooner or later it will make comeback to its original place so we have to stay positive in this duration.
