[ANN] Ethereum: Welcome to the Beginning

We can't guess the future. I don't know if anything else is going to surpass ethereum marketcap but I believe that ethereum is going to be always in the top 10 if they continue to improve the network. The technology in this space is always evolving and ethereum needs to keep up the pace to not be left behind. I trust that the team can find the solutions needed to improve the network but it's going to be a big challenge.

If someday Ethereum drops to below the second position and just stay in top 10 on coinmarketcap, such as at the 5th, 8th or 10th position, it means the Ethereum project has been surpassed and somehow outdated network. If it happens, dropping further in lower position in top ten, Ethereum will definitely fall further behind other projects. Nevertheless, I don't see anything supports such terrible position lose like this from Ethereum project. Their team are very productive, energetic, and creative, they always keep developing, upgrading their network and their ecosystem. Together, I see solid reasons that Ethereum will still be a second largest in crypto for coming years.

The competition will be fierce in the future. Even if ethereum drops to the 5th place in the crypto marketcap does not mean it will be outdated or anything similar. It just means that other projects also are in more demand. Let's just make an example on something like samsung or facebook coin if they come to be developed. If the demand is higher for those coins/tokens then it's possible to see ethereum drop on it's position but does not mean that people still not want to develop on the ethereum network.

Regarding the advantages of PoS, two points are often mentioned:
1. Energy saving and environmental protection. The out-of-block node does not use the mining machine for the power competition to mine, but by holding the currency "mining", it is absolutely energy-saving and environmentally friendly.
2. Higher TPS. In general, the latency of PoS can be done very low and the confirmation is very fast. In the PoS system, a transaction can be published and confirmed.

PoS security issues
From the perspective of system security, there are at least two major security risks in PoS.
1. Nothing at Stake: In a nutshell, if the attacker forks the current chain, there is no need to judge which chain will win for the “miner” holding the coin. The strategy is to "mining" on both branches at the same time. Because no matter which branch wins, it will benefit for Stake's holders, and the process is not like PoW. The spelling power of "real knife and gun" needs to burn money. PoS has no consumption all the time, so for the money holding For block nodes, it is entirely feasible to mine on both branches at the same time. This leads to the fact that in some cases, maliciously forking a PoS chain is unlikely to succeed. Once the attack is successful, a chain may split into multiple chains, which will cause a series of serious problems such as transaction rollback and double flower.
2. Long Range Attack, which is a more difficult problem than a non-invasive attack. Instead of splitting the existing chain, the attacker starts with the initial stage and creates a new, longer chain that makes the network mistakenly think it is the main chain. If you want to build a longer chain on Bitcoin, you need to have more than 50% of the computing power of the entire system. This requires buying a mining machine, requiring energy consumption, and requiring huge capital investment to win. In contrast, PoS can "cheat" the algorithm to create a new chain, and this process does not need to invest in the mining machine, no energy consumption, the attack cost is much lower than PoW, once the attack is successful, the consequences are very serious, reconstructed The chain may completely replace the original chain, and many attributes such as tampering will be destroyed.

Vitalik has been more actively with his Twitter account and in Ethereum own-built forum. This situation is very popular in crypto, with old and well known altcoins, another one is Monero. So, investors, whom have interests to catch official news from Vitalik should follow his Twitter account. In the other side, Ethereum has been in its final phase before really finish its bottom-out process, like what happened with bitcoin. i downloaded many blockchain their interface their structure base their responsive nodes etc ... everyone is considered when picking a store of value .. eth completes the needs for store of value as well as to build contracts on top of it..cardano or tron or tezos etc by no mean could ever be regarded as store of value since they dont have any reputation.. Ethereum will be the king in future may be #1 someday

Come on, you still haven't realised that the price of any cryptocurrency is not dictated from the advances in the space but it's being played by the few crypto-whales and outside manipulators through derivatives? ... and sometimes FOMO or FUD might get common people into the play so that most of them can lose their money while pushing the price higher or lower.
We're not widely adopted yet to have a natural growth from userbase nor is there any consistent regulation and safety for big investors to chip in.

I do not think that they will be able to do it - if hackers are not dilettantes, then it will be impossible to track them down. The funds are most  likely would be washed and taken to offshore.

Eth has been hovering between $160 -$175 for quite some time now. I hope it can touch $200 before this month ends. Well, that will only happen when BTC moves upward which are happening. When the market is positive and things will be positive in the same way, once the price of Bitcoin is increasing automatically the price of ETH will surely increase in the market. As you can see on coinmarketcap, Bitcoin's price is bullish and it is affecting most of the altcoins which very soon - altcoin prices will also start increasing (PS. why XRP isn't?). Some people are saying that BTC will go up to $5800 before reversing back to $3800 - $4000 then start the up trend again. I think that the best thing to do is to watch the market very close to see what will happen next.
