What type of disappointment you are talking about? you can't put the blame of Ethereum for failing to surge in value when bitcoin dominance keeps climbing up and aiming higher, Eth is doing fine for those who knows what's in stock for Eth blockchain, altcoin season is not here yet and ETH is showing good sign already, Eth is a must buy and hold for all altcoin lovers

In whitepapers it looking fantastic that other projects could have chance to replace Ethereum in future but in real life it will be a different story. There are so many restrictions in these days and it is big challenge they could resolve the regulatory issue to make their platform ready for mass adoption.

Regulatory issues are one of the major drawbacks to acquiring the mass adoption otherwise we might see the prices of altcoins will skyrocket. Even I have not gone through Whitepaper completely, but it is a really good idea to replace them into Ethereum, but for that, we need to have restrictions.

The only reason at ETH is alive even in this moment is because there is no real competition to it. Waves was popular in its early days but they didnt grow with time. With POS update, we may see some movement with ETH and teams may start using ETH again.

I believe more miners from another altcoin over to the ethereum as there was an explanation of POS will not come very soon and it may take years from now

The only reason at ETH is alive even in this moment is because there is no real competition to it. Waves was popular in its early days but they didnt grow with time. With POS update, we may see some movement with ETH and teams may start using ETH again.

But behind that reason is another large and more interesting story. Yes, there is no real competitor of Ethereum right now. But how about before today? How about the time when there were a lot of Ethereum competitors? Are we not going to consider the feat of Ethereum by being the lone survivor after all other projects tried to compete and replace it but failed? Waves was a strong contender before but it was not the choice of most projects. ETC became another platform, so was NEM, NEO, Stratis, Komodo, etc but all of them did not make it to the top. Only Ethereum did.

Anyone know why they didn't delay the ice age in the last hard-fork? Looking at,

It seems that the block times didn't go back down to the average ~13.5 sec times and instead they are growing every 3 weeks and currently the block times are almost at 17 seconds. Most likely the next hard-fork can be delayed again and it will eventually reach the ~30 second block times like it did back in late 2017.

Currently anyone with power at 0.10 kwh is basically mining at break-even, I predict that the hashrate will keep dropping even further.
