If BTC makes an extended bull run I'm sure ETH will follow. But it's going to take a decent period of investor confidence to drive it.

BTC did not extend its bull run, so we are now again back to its normal scenario for the last 2 years?

good thing now that btc is already stable at $8K, if it will have another run, probably we will stop at $10,000.

From now till the mid of March, I believe BTC will never make its exponential bull run if there are nothing serious happen with global political conditions. There is exception that I don't think will happen but if it happens, it will give very huge momentum to BTC bull run. The official war between Iran and the USA that I think both sides really want to avoid.

It is unoffcial supports for altcoins and Ethereum for the next few months. Ethereum will get chance to stabilize its price and wait for the utmost important upgrade.

Last time I heard Vitalik propose for a full transition to PoS because of the complexity in doing parallel consensus and the delay of the beacon chain. But I have not heard anything since then, what is the latest news about the upgrade?

Some people have already tried to be validators on the beacon chain that already developed by prylabs and you can even check it on etherscan. Isn't it the beacon chain already alive?

But this rally got finished too early it was another bull trap. This showing how much volatile this market is no doubt it could few more years to get mature and establish itself on a decent level with less volatility.
I don't think the last crypto rally was a bull trap, may we look at the same chart from different viewpoints. I doubt the price will remain here, almost a small journey is required for reaching the $200 first and the end of the journey will be at $400, IMHO.

If you look at the whole chart, it looks like it will be easy to get to $ 200 in fast time until February, but if there are other factors, maybe that will hinder it and difficult to move. Because I also have some ETH, I will be ready to wait for the next pump.

There is no need to worry about confidence due to the fact it is building up gradually

From what I recall almost all crypto jump on the bull run bandwagon and see their value go up. I have no reason to doubt ETH, XRP and others will not follow - on the contrary I think they will follow suit. It has been some time since the last bull run so maybe BTC will break its all time high, I hope so  Grin

With all the hype of the ETH upgrade it will be interesting to see how it would affect its price over the next few months. I am not seeing anything major going on with it right now but investors are not rushing in to buy it even with the hype. Maybe it needs time to settle before investors start buying but the disparity between its all time high price to current price seem excessive therefore in my opinion ETH is undervalued.

Thank you, I have checked it. It looks like it is not live yet because it is on testnet.
https://beacon.etherscan.io/
Beacon chain mainnet should not be far from it if nothing wrong happens and I think we can expect it to go live in late Q1 or early Q2.

As an alternative, there is a Selectum miner, the source code is open, there is no commission initially.
Recently, the second version was released, they improved ETH performance, fixed bugs and other pluses.

What happened with DASH recent hours forces me to think of what will happen with Ethereum when the upgrade comes out in this year. 80% of growth within 24 hours, wow, such a growth blows my mind.

Are you Ethereum holders, this is time to hold your ETH as tightly as possible. The price range of 0.035 to 0.04 BTC for each Ethereum coin will be reached very soon. Sometime before the mid of March this year.

Yes, a year ago I could not wait to see a moment like this, not only ETH but all altcoins also went up simultaneously just different percentages. 2020 is indeed the year of all altcoins and it is great if you want to buy now before it's too late.

Exactly, this is the first time after very long because previously when the price of Bitcoin, ETH price starts decreasing in the market. We have to see whether this trend will continue or not because very soon there is a Bitcoin halving whether it will survive at the current value or not.

Decreasing? I think I saw a different movement..based on https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/ethereum/, ETH has increase 10% today and that's a good sign that soon it would rise again, we are very close to $200 again, well, at least that's the next stop I think ETH would achieve.

last year our high was just around $300 IIRC, but this time for sure it will be higher because we saw how BSV made ATH today and for sure ETH can do that with the hype of ETH 2.0 happening.

Quote
Bitcoin (BTC) and Ether (ETH) are commodities, while the status of XRP is still unclear, the chairman of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) said.

CFTC Chairman Heath Tarbert has reiterated the regulator’s stance on both Bitcoin and Ether in an interview with online news outlet Cheddar on Jan. 13. Tarbert said:
“So right now, Bitcoin and Ether are the two that we think fall under our jurisdiction.”

lets give the floor to BSV right now. but for sure, they cant maintain that price rise. i do believe that eth is just a sleeping giant, its time will come and it will be soon. if you ask yourself, why will eth compete with BSV? actually theres nothing to compete with this fake btc. at least with eth network, we know that they are valuable in the community and many are depending on them because of the created projects under eth platform. so is there any project depending on BSV?
