Yes, right. Bitcoin is less suitable for long-term trading. I want to illustrate, that only when the market goes down can you get a chance.
For the long term, you can buy altcoins and hold it to reach your target. Ethereum, neo or Eos is perfect for long-term investments.

Bitcoin can be kept for a long time, but I agree that you always need to diversify the risks, and do not keep all the savings in one coin, even if it is bitcoin.

It's true what you say that we should not hold bitcoin for the long term because it is very risky. Bitcoin is still a potential for the short term but for the long term I can't guarantee. I say like this because I am based on bitcoin that does not make improvements and displays its innovation. Even though the day bitcoin has lost the trust of the community. Of course this is a big risk when we decide to hold bitcoin for the long term because we cannot predict for sure whether for the long term bitcoin can survive or not. Tight competition in crypto currencies requires that every crypto currency always innovate to show a good difference so that it is not excluded from the market.

It depends on how you plan it. My suggestion is that you divide the money into two places and invest into both bitcoin and ethereum. There are times you might not be too sure of the coin you are holding. When you you one part to invest into bitcoin and the other part into the coins you feel are good.

i think that it's not totally true. If you bought 100 BTC when it was like 2$, then you still have like a lot profit, that's not bad either

that's right because Bitcoin prices may change high or low in the near future, always monitoring market prices if you want to get good profits to invest in Bitcoin. you are right if hold Bitcoin for too long and suddenly the price drops drastically, then the loss will be obtained.

i dont think so, if you want long term period and really profitable investment i will tend to select bitcoin or ethereum to hold. because holding altcoin except ethereum for long term period are way too risky, since any altcoin can be dumped until invaluable. and i dont want to lost all of my portofolio by risking to invest on altcoin for long term holding. unless, you found very promising and potential ICO with the huge and loyal of community support

At the moment, all we will stay is to play a long game, if now try to re-buy, you can lose more than make money. The reason is in the expectations that now reign on the securities market. I think it's too late to leave the game.

Bitcoin already has strong potential that can obviously develop its value. With me holding it for a long time, I will also get decent results. want to add bitcoin in my wallet.

There are benefits in holding bitcoin or altcoin rather, but the way on how process you want to do. I don't think why you said that never hold bitcoin for along time. In long time of holding have more advantage in gaining more profits that is my experience and more community said.

Last year all altcoins dieded during BTC big move and revived only after btc dropped to 16-14k.
Imo best practice to buy and hold altcoins on sideway moves or light bearish btc. And HODL and never sell BTC during btc bull market.
Also after the bull market hodling usd is probably the best practice :)duh

For altcoins mosty they move all together with a "cycle" ,so on bearish market you really need to DYOR before investing.

Your opinion was good enough but not everyone will think same as you. New investor will probably choose the good reputation coin which is bitcoin. they choose bitcoin because it already giving us a proof that bitcoin can survive for almost 9 years. I think they will feeling more safe if they put they money into bitcoin than altcoins.

yes, but there is another flip of the coin: u can't get multiple price increases as it is observed for altcoins.

Bitcoin is not a coin that you deserve to hold for a long time, bitcoin prices can be as high as the sky at this time and can drop dramatically in a matter of hours. You can take advantage of its volatility, and benefit from it. If you are experienced, I think you already know this.

I think it's a good idea to keep the bitcoin for a long time if you do not have market knowledge. I still think the bitcoin future is still well priced and growing more and more with the blockchain technology

For my Bitcoin is worth investing in for a long time. The value of Bitcoin is high, and its price will not rise in the short term. Bitcoin I invest in will hold it for a long time.

I have been holding my Bitcoin all the way.  I have a fund I will not touch.  Trading and messing with ICO's and alts is highly risky and you may get wiped out.  There are lots of posts with people losing it all on a bad trade.  Play it safe.

I think it is important to hold bitcoin right now because the market is low and I bet you will regret it if you stop holding now
I always prefer to hold bitcoin because the price of bitcoin is more stable among the rest of altcoins and i believe that holding bitcoin for long time is still more advisable because many expert said that it will pump it's value up to $30k.

investing in Altcoin is easier and quite profitable, we just need to find coins that are new in the market but have the potential to grow in the future as time goes by.
