For now all coin prices are dependent on BTC only. If BTC price drops, all coins go down.

At least majority of about 95% of the altcoins has their price change being controlled by bitcoin. When the price of bitcoin rise up, the price of the altcoins too rise; when the price of bitcoin drops, the price of the altcoins too drop. So bitcoin has exact its dominance on all the rest crypto coins due to being the father of crypto currencies. Bitcoin price is under red now in the market , likewise all other coins. Once bitcoin price comes out of red and starts increasing again; the altcoins too will start increasing thus giving us the insight of bitcoin influence over all the altcoins.

Yes. The crypto market in General is special because it reacts to the same external factors, so in General, cryptocurrencies can move synchronously.

I think you may be right, altcoins nowadays are too much depends on the the price of ETH and BTC, i think it is because investors only care ETH and BTC as their main sources of long term income. They invest in altcoins only for profit and only when they have enough, surely they will dump other altcoins and get back to ETH and BTC.
I am not sure that the prices of altcoins really depend on Ethereum. However, Bitcoin does affect them. When BTC is growing, all the alts (most of them, at least) follow it. When it falls, the market is falling as well. |

I'm not sure. But i guess the price of every alt coin is connected to the price of Bitcoin. Because some ICO become successful if the price of Bitcoin is high. That is only my analization. |

Simple math, ALT/BTC ratio would decrease if:
- ALT coin’s value drops (i.e. people are selling the ALT coin or trading it for BTC or other ALT coins).
and/or
- BTC value increases (i.e., more demand for BTC from various accounts including USD and ALT coin conversion)
Similarly, ALT/BTC ratio would increase if:
- ALT coin’s value increases (i.e. people are buying an ALT coin by trading BTC or other ALT coins).
and/or
- BTC value decreases (i.e., BTC is cashed out for USD or other currency or traded for ALT coins)

I agree that recently this is particularly noticeable, just noticed that the price of tokens depends more on ETH than on BTC. But BTC also has a huge impact on the market as a whole.

In my opinion, altcoin prices are more ETH dependent than BTC, because ETH is the main coin to buy tokens during the ICO period, so most tokens are more about ETH than the BTC, when ETH increases, the tokens also increase and vice versa

If I guess maybe we cannot set as the benchmark. because it is simply the ethereum and bitcoin coin is indeed first appears. So indeed it might impress more famous than others. However, not being a price reference for other coins.

Honestly, as a bounty hunters it feels like disappointing about the market price making big whales can do manipulating the value of bitcoin having the highest coins of all cryptos. And now sometimes can cause panic selling which affected by your mode attitude.

I think the price of altcoin is quite dependent on BTC. Whenever the price of the BTC fluctuates, the whole market will have the same sign immediately. This shows that the price of BTC has a lot of influence on altcoin.

Bitcoin affects the whole market, as its price changes, ethereum and altcoin prices tend to change. That suggests Bitcoin is the king of the market, having a big influence on other coin |

As I noticed, it is. Because the market dominance is almost 50% favor of Bitcoin as of now, and most of people are Bitcoin is the medium for buying altcoins, and for selling altcoins ,it is either Bitcoin or USDT (not so much). For me, it is really depending on the BTC and ETH also.

The price of alternative coins depends very much on the price of bitcoin. If bitcoin falls sharply, then alternative coins become much cheaper. I think that everyone noticed this pattern.

Btc has long been the controller of the market such that as Btc falls, altcoins fall and vice versa. However, several other factors such the the amount in circulation also accounts to the rise and fall of the value of a particular altcoin.

i think prices of bitcoin and ethereum affects the entire movement of the crypto market. Adding up to that, publicities also have direct correlation to how the market will also behave. To me I think that it can be but not so much. I think that every coin has their own potential, in fact some time we can see that bitcoin price si regularly dumping but the price of some other altcoins are increasing regularly. |
