Good news. the 9.3.1 work fine, no -reindex or other tweak needed, may take some time to found some node tho. Good job max'team.

I actually do like the new icon / branding better Smiley

especially the mostly black icon vs the mostly yellow one for the 16x16 pixels windows wallet tray icon !

MaxCoin 0.9.3.1 released

You can now download MaxCoin 0.9.3.1 from maxcoin.co.uk and the project GitHub repository. This release contains a fix for the wallet synchronisation issue and will change the target block time to 60s from block 635000. Updated branding and a new wallet security menu have also been added.

The release contains a Windows installer and source code. OSX is coming shortly.

A VirusTotal link has been provided here as, on occasion, Chrome will block downloads due to the IRC bootstrapping and mining code within MaxCoin. The problem is known and we're in contact with Google about possible solutions.

I have upgraded from 0.9.2 and successfuly synced from block 600,061 - old wallet was stuck there for 5 days - but now I see the following returned by getinfo command:

Code:
"errors" : "Warning: checkpoint on different blockchain fork, contact developers to resolve the issue"

I have not added any checkpoint reset (or ignore, whatever) to maxcoin.conf file but now I'm wondering if valid checkpoint was added after hard-fork point at all. Also, how many
valid checkpoints were added to Maxcoin by now? For reference, Bitcoin developers are adding checkpoints with every few wallet updates.

Also:

1. Coin control not implemented yet.
2. When minimized, wallet goes to tray instead of taskbar.

theres nothing here. message me if you want to put something here.

630899 block's difficulty was 12935
Current 630900 block's difficulty is about 5238533.539921672

I don't think we will find a block soon.

The currently difficulty is at 5 million due, we believe, to a failed timewarp attack. We will be re-enabling ACP once the blockchain begins moving again, which will be an estimated 5 hours, to mitigate from such an attack. If the attack persists as a DDoS we will switch the re-targeting algorithm for something more robust.

Algorithm: Keccak (SHA-3) / Generation: 100 million MAX | Block time: 1 minute / Block Rewards: 8 coins per block / Halving every ~4 years | Premine: Zero – not premined / Fees: Zero – no transaction fees ( close to zero ) | Difficulty: Retargets every block. | MAX Speed. MAX Security. MAX Protection. MAXcoin.

Any thoughts on whether the time is now right to turn Maxcoin into a purely POS coin?

I don't think pure POS is good idea. Maxcoin is most well known coin is Keccak algo.
However, the difficulty re-target algo. should be changed for smooth operation.

How about Digishield? KGW is too old and buggy.
