Current difficulty is 7042400.964355485.
 Shocked

Really?  Didn't check, but it must be multipools.

Well, it's not affected by multipool.

Maxcoin is not finding any blocks for a day.
So, I calculated current block's difficulty to see what the matter is.

"difficulty" from console's getinfo command is not current difficulty but previous block's difficulty.
This 7042400 is current block's diff.

Someone with big hash attacked KGW's difficulty change logic and maxcoin is stuck again.

We need some more time to breakthrough this difficulty. As hashes go away, maybe this difficulty could be unsolvable forever if immediate hardfork is not implemented.

Yes, it is affected by multipools:
http://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=282772.0
http://www.kryptkoinpool.com/

Well tompool looks dead, only forum is running.
kryptkoin multipool has 0 Mh/s for Keccak.

Even with multipool is running, this kind of weird difficulty is not normal.

Is this on time wrap attack?

Screnn shot: http://prntscr.com/4pgp6z

At this time, the difficulty was over 60K.  Shocked

So weird.

http://www.coinssource.com/kimoto-gravity-well-exploit-exposed/

Time Warp Exploit, basically takes advantage of KGW’s method for difficulty retargeting, allowing an attacker with sufficient hashing power to mine at a much lower difficulty level. If such an attack occurred, the attacker would be able to mine all of the blocks at an artificially low difficulty while the blockchain would appear frozen or stuck to the rest of the miners. Then once the attacker released the block chain it would take a long time for the miners to re-synchronize with the blockchain and to validate the attacker’s blocks.

Please change re-target algorithm. KGW is not enough.

The networkhashps is around 1T, why difficulty can be several million? Obviously the retarget algorithm have bug, it must be more smooth.

The mining profits are ridiculous at this moment. It's a pity, really. Also MCXNow wallet is down, you can't send in MAX, I've sent some and it's been in limbo for about a week now. I truly think I will switch my rigs off or turn them elsewhere.  Undecided Sad

Yeah, Cryptsy too, that's not the problem. The problem is that somehow with the same gear I'm mining about 1/10 of what I previously did, and there's not a feasible way to entertain my frustration, since I believed that MAX was something that really had *that* something when it got out. It turned out to be nothing more than a great hype that Max Keiser introduced and materialized.

MCXnow was a great exchange to work with and it really had that "pro" feeling since the very start. Now the op is away in EU and he's coming back "in two weeks" (that's about after the end of the week if I remember correctly). After all these, today their https certificate is out of date (attack?...) I'm really seeking into mining something else and I'll do this with great sadness.

MAX REALLY could do miracles if it was treated correctly. Sad

i think i am mining about 50% less coins roughly on my one old nvidia GPU (550Ti Fermi)
and that is a faaaar cry from 10x less as the other guy just said lol
I was averaging about 2 coins per day on it and now about 1 coin i think so..

and uhhhh yeah... that is what happens when the block reward is cut guys
and so far the price has not changed since before the block reward cut but it has held steady.
but it's worth pointing out how the previous price was pumped up and it was skidding along for ages at half of what it was now before the reward cut.

there was problems a while back and they are fixed it seems ..my wallet works fine.
but it seems the block reward got cut and the price did not go up in response.
that is a market issue i think and not so much a broken coin problem needing the developer to fix something.
