I have been using my wallet for sometime now and I have tips for everyone using ethereum based tokens, the best way to protect your wallet from been hacked is to use my ether wallet and metamask together, the both providers a higher security on your wallet.

most importantly, do not tell others about important information from your wallet, especially about passwords, privatekey and key phrases, this is very important in wallet security.

First, to protect our wallet is to simply not to make obvious of our passwords, usernames, e-mail addresses so that we can not be traced by the hackers. And we should also not to forget where to share our important informations regarding to our accounts so that it will stay secured and safe.

I think the best way is to make sure that private key is safe and the password should never be known by anyone aside from the user. Steps like bookmarking the wallet website will also help since there are a lot of phishing site that can gather your info if you're unable to detect that its unsecured site. Majority of hacking were cause by those and it can be fixed by just bookmarking. Using multiple wallets will also help (this is what I am doing). The only challenge is securing the private key cause there will be a time that you will be confused on the number of wallets you have. :-)

Choose a different password for every wallet, or email that you use. always store your keywords in a safe place that only you can access them, preferably written down so that hackers cant access them through your computer. and most importantly, use a hardware wallet, since the private keys never leave the device.

This is for those who use wallets with cheap transaction fee, such as ethereum based wallets.
There are some who cannot yet afford to purchase a hardware wallet. On that note, i have a suggestion on how your wallet can be safe from hackers. I have always noticed wallets that get easily hacked are those that are subject to public view.
Try as much as possible to have a separate cold wallet address that you do not copy and paste the private key, and neither do you share the address with anyone. You can use it to store most of your valuable coins.
Even if you want to transfer any coin or token to an address belonging to another person, first transfer it to your public wallet before sending it out.

Private key is like our Personal Identification number like on our bank account. We should not share it to anyone and keep it safe. I am believe hackers can not steal our account if we keep our private safe because private key is most important

you can enable your 2fa or use google aunthenticator so if someone is opening your wallet it will send you a code in your email or phone number 1st to open your wallet.

I think you still have responsibility of securing your private key if you're using a soft wallet. Using cold wallet essentially protects you from the possibility of given out your private key by mistake.

I think its better to download a meta mask or aviod fishing site and always bouble check your address before you apply like airdrop of bounty campaign dont give your private key.

actually easy, Never tell private key to others. Never publish private key, make sure that the input when following bounty or airdrop you input public address not private key. Should be careful if you follow the airdrop. We also recommend that the MEW address be stored for bookmarks.

make sure not too often use the private key on the internet
keep your private key in the safest place, and not touched by the internet
usually the hacking case I encountered was using the airdrop method, phishing using fake pages

The best thing you can do is to install metamask so that you don't need to import your PK everytime you trade to a certain exchange. And next is, never import your PK on exchange that you are not sure that are safe.

I am collecting crypto ever since 2013 and till now none of my wallets have got hacked. 99% of the time, carelessness should be blamed for the hacks. Some people does't even use 2FA or email authentication.

I think not exposing the wallet address to anyone is not an option. As it is very important link to send and receive the crypto coins through it then it becomes mandatory to at least share the public address with anyone with whom we are taking the translations. Consider that we are getting involved in the bounty programs then everywhere we have to send our ether address to receive those bounty tokens. Thus we are already sending it towards most of the public channels. So thats not an option at all. We need a middle way where we should be looking after the saving of our private keys securely and also looking after the websites SSL certificates.

Because hard wallet is very expensive we cannot afford to buy. It's better we write our   private key on a piece of paper and we keep it in a very safe place avoid letting others to know about such documents so that it will not hack to the hackers.

use the offline version. Private keys print on paper and make mistakes, so no one can steal your money

I think to protect my wallet is using hardware wallet, it was expensive but have more secure. you must avoid link phising, scam, and dont doing transaction in public network
if use wallet like mew you must keep private key save.

Until now I still keep my coins in purse MEY and it's very safe and they also do not diminish in number. I very carefully keeping my wallet, and do not give a wrong wallet when you register the ICO project. If you give the wrong private key, of course, is very dangerous and you could lose your coins.

Certainly the only obvious way to secure your wallet from being hacked is by using hardware wallet to save your coins, it offers great security than software wallet there are few that are tested and trusted such as trezor , keepkey and Ledger Nano S. With hardware wallets your coins are safe even if your computer is hacked or someone stole your Hardware wallet. If you lose your hardware wallet, you can always restore all your coins on a new wallet.
