Recently I faced a bad luck. here the story

I got IOTX from GATE .io 28th of may 196000 @ .00004600 ETH.  Then after one or two hour i sold it to @ .00004800.

After 3 days means June 1st , one IOTX went to .00014ETH.  

if i sell June 1st  196000 * .00014 *590 = 16189$
Investment is = 5300$
so i have lost = 10800$

so in this story if i could wait 3 days , i have profit of 10000 USD. so in this case i am saying please be patient. wait wait. good coins always give a good reward to you

Don't what know IOTX is, probably some random coin that got pumped. But I don't see how you made a loss? You bought at .000046 eth and sold it at .000048 eth. So you already made a profit. The price got pumped up more and reach another price but this does not mean that you have incurred a loss. Wait for few more weeks and if the price goes below 0.000046 eth, will you be saying that you had made a loss?

Yeah, one of the main mistakes is panic. Just wait for 1-2 months or even more and coin price will be more than previous. Of course, if it is not shit coins..)

Not always. I believe that it is necessary to fix the profit. But I sell only 50%, the other 50% I leave in case of a large growth!

first of all from your  comment it is obvious you are gambling not investing.

secondly you have made 4.3% profit in 1-2 hours and you are complaining about this profit?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

third you have to think about it this way:
if you randomly help this coin and instead of going up it went down to 0.00001000 ETH you would have lost A LOT OF money.

and finally you made a huge mistake of not buying back when you saw the rise. in fact when you sold this shitcoin at 0.00004800 you made a solid good decision and you made a solid profit. but then you saw the rise days after that but you did nothing and just stood by instead of jumping on the pump wagon. THAT is where you lose opportunity.

ps. as you are complaining about this random shitcoin, there are at least 6 other shitcoins being pumped today that you are also missing out on making profit there....

Well put. This is something that many people tend to forget. Any amount of profit is profit people at the end of the day. Why is op moaning even after earning decent profit from his investment? It is true that HODLING is effective in many situations like the one you described above, but it is easier said than done. Pumps and dumps happen on a regular basis in this market due to the extreme volatility associated with it.

If you are a trader, patience is not a virtue, because you need to have a system, a method, and apply it always when you get the signals. Patience is no virtue because you need to cut losses as soon as possible, and let the profits run as much as possible. You do not trade with your feelings, but with your method.

Wow! That was a huge amount of profit that you been missed. What you feel is a normal feeling of every trader out there for that kind of same experience. However you should consider the thing that you did not earn nothing, this is what matters. Many traders were/are keep on holding but after the long time of waiting they lost the chance of making profit, thus not all the time to hold for the long run is a wise move.

I don't think you lost your money here,all you did is lost the profits if you can hold it more but you still made profits with your investment.First of all you need to contented with your earnings and don't be too greedy because mostly greed will tend to lose more.But think can be a good lesson for you to hold more but no one knows that when the price will increase or decrease so it will be better to aim small profits.

If I may add (sorry if this was said before): with any investment, fiat or crypto, it's always a good idea not just to avoid panic, but also diversify your investments. And since crypto is highly volatile it's always a good strategy to invest smaller amount, no matter how promising the project is. If it skyrockets you will still get some profits, and it's never too late to add to the portfolio, even at a higher price.

I certainly agree with you. You're not the only one with that kind of situation because most of us holders are facing the same risk too. However, the best thing to do during this situation is to stay calm since we can't do anything about it. We should just have more patience and just keep on hodling.
