I saw information that Indian government is considering launching its own cryptocurrency and that the executive director of the Reserve Bank of India at a recent conference stressed that the agency is not planning to consider Bitcoin as the national cryptocurrency. Officials are not sure about the reliability of Bitcoin as a currency, and reports about the use of digital coins for money laundering and terrorist financing cast a shadow on the reputation of the first cryptocurrency. Bitcoin is also viewed with suspicion because it is not regulated within the framework of the monetary policy of the government of any country, and its price is subject to considerable fluctuations. So I think everything will be limited to the launch of its cryptocurrency. And as for me, these are worthy decisions at the level of the government, while other states are not at all ready to accept cryptocurrency ...  Wink
The government also have a point to to study and be hesitant about  bitcoin, as  part of the process, in implementing, laws but I think in the end up adaptation of bitcoin is as an ultimate decision.

What do you people think about the future of bitcoin or other cryptocurrencies in India under the current government policies? Shocked
The government's strong hold against Bitcoin and cryptocurrency is gradually coming to an end. The citizens of India now have a great participation in cryptocurrency more than before.

If we refer to the statement made by the Minister of Finance of India, Mr. Arun Jaitley in February 2018 then, himself had time to say that the Indian government is actually only interested in the potential of blockchain technology, and the Indian government plans to proactively explore the use of blockchain technology in supporting the digital economy. I think your opinion is correct.

If the government studied about bitcoin then defintely the future of bitcoin on their country will be great. Bitcoin can help tjeir economy as long as the government provide good policies that may protect bitcoin investors. I expect that many of the people from india will not hesitate on investing in bitcoin.

Goverment wants to control bitcoin and it is understandable at some respect. Because it may be used in order to harm their economy.

I do not know, they have a very difficult economic situation. The country is poor. And the population in General is on the border of complete poverty. As elsewhere, they certainly have their rich, but they are not so much and they are not very interested in cryptocurrency.Laws have them, too, very strange.I am not sure that this country will develop well in the cryptographic direction,at least for now.

I think that as soon as China begins an active expansion in the use of cryptocurrency, then immediately India will do the same thing. Asia will move together.

a large population, but an economy that is not yet developed
I hope that the Indian government will immediately open its eyes to technological advancements in order to keep up with the times and become developed countries such as Japan, Korea, Turkey, US which are always open to the existence of technology. India is very potential, because the public's interest in cryptocurrency is very high

The future of bitcoin in India is uncertain! I am not sure but the government of India seems confusing to take a decision for cryptocurrencies! China lift ban from bitcoin, India can forget about regulations and policies and they can accept bitcoin wisely! I assume bitcoin future in India is bright! A lot of people of India is working for crypto, they did not stop it rather they will continue working for bitcoin!

I think governments can't fight crypto no matter what they do, so they might as well embrace it

Your opinion is correct that crypto is a potential helper that can develop the economy. But the Indian government sees another perspective, where bitcoin's weaknesses can be misused to damage the Indian economy, because anonymous crypto money has vulnerabilities to be used by criminals. Indeed, users in India are not punished, but access to using crypto is closed.
