Even in the event that an attacker gains more than 50% of the network's computational power, only transactions sent by the attacker could be reversed or double-spent. The network would not be destroyed.

If Auroracoin becomes widely adopted in Iceland, the price is fantastically undervalued at present.  And there are a ton of people out there like me who understand that the higher the value of this coin the day it is dispersed, the higher the likelihood it will be widely adopted by the people of Iceland.  It is a sort of self-fulfilling prophecy and as such, we're willing to put some speculative money towards making that happen.  Not just for our own profit, for Auroracoin, and the people of Iceland.  But for the good of cryptocurrency in general.

Mastercoin, #8 on the list, has $8,000 in volume and nobody is batting an eye.  And come back and see the volume in 24 hours Smiley

This was a silent launch, but as of today I see real marketing going on. I guess it will be insane when the Airdrop comes and Icelandic media picking up on this.

I'm sure you're all in the process of moving your coins to poloniex so you can dump on the price.

I don't own a ton, but I'm holding mine.  I sold some early on so that I got to even, even if the price goes to zero.  The rest I'm holding in hopes the prices goes way up and more people in Iceland adopt the coin as a result.  I feel like I'm doing my part to change the world.  I know that sounds silly, but isn't that what Bitcoin is trying to do?  I think Auroracoin can really fast forward that process.

Is Poloniex is the only place to buy AUR at the moment.  Cryptorush is down.

Yes, hence the price peak. Volume is way too low to judge the real price. Just trying to be realistic here, but all the best for the coin anyhow.
