According to gatra, p2pool will be ready later, but not at launch time. Solo only but there will be optimized cpuminer available.

This is wonderful to see. I was very curious about this project when I first saw it several months ago. It sounds like you have a very reasonable PoW and I think that's awesome. As for running out of sextuplets, if we did, how would we know? I don't recall a consequence of the Riemann hypothesis being the overall "sparseness" of sextuplets. So what if we went a very long time without finding a sextuplet but unbeknownst to us it's because it is highly "sparse" at a certain point. How is this issue addressed? (For all I know though, your PoW may already address this.)
I would greatly appreciate your feedback! Thank you for all your hard efforts!

is this just a failur because the coin hasn't started yet? I have the same on Arch and I don't believe it is meant to work now because of the stubs in the code. In before, about the miner not compiling, is because it is missing a file on purpose until launch. ( I have asked Gatra about this ) edit: I saw now Gatra has answered your question. I'll leave my reply as info about the miner.

Anyone feel like making a cloudmining guide for this? I'd point some cloudmining at it, to give it a try.... if I could figure out how to set it up.

gatra, am I correct in assuming that even if I modify the source to get past the assertions and failures in the source, I still won't be able to generate a wallet.dat yet? I wanted it ready so that I could gen keys before launch.
FYI, compiled fine on ubuntu 13. Excited for launch, but gutted I will be 2 hours late to the party as it will be too early here in Sydney!

I didn't try it this way, but if you remove the asserts for the genesis block in InitBlockIndex() and the obvious "assert( 0 );" then you should be able to generate the keys. Sydney? I'm in GMT -3, so we must be in almost opposite time zones... yes, 14 hour difference...

Great job so far gatra!
Can you explain in some lenght how will I be able to mine solo from the start? (In command line, preferably?) I never mined solo.. the help command from cpuminer seems to indicate that this program is solely designed for pooled mining. Will the complete source generate a minerd variation that can be used to me through RPC?

There's a countdown at riecoin.org, it's less than 14 hours from now.
I'll try to put up a mini mining guide, but it's basically the same as if you wanted to solo mine with CPU with any other coin. there will probably be no pools, so the external miner should be pointed at the computer that runs the wallet - generally the same one so it's localhost or 127.0.0.1 - using the user and passwords that you choose and set in the file riecoin.conf
Probably YAC should have a very similar guide.
