Hello everyone. My pool is now open for mining. It has a 1% fee. Currently only a linux miner is available :/

Remember: We are currently in test mode!

Go to ric.infinitypool.tk and click on "start mining now" for instructions.

Thanks to all testers!

Also: Can someone compile a Windows version of https://github.com/gatra/cpuminer-rminerd

Hi, Surfer -

Would you be willing to build in a dev fee mechanism similar to what ypool supports?  (Something automatic that doesn't require switching or pain on the dev's part).  This has proven to be a good way to attract miner developers to ypool - they're successful for a lot of reasons, but dev-friendliness is one of them.

built on cygwin64 on Windows 8.1 Enterprise, use it as your own risk.

https://www.dropbox.com/s/hh8tm2h67ya7amh/rminerd.zip regular build
https://www.dropbox.com/s/2mu3v5c5jq1pfqy/rminerd-avx.zip build with -mavx
https://www.dropbox.com/s/ur85vbwpxdo35jr/rminerd-sse.zip build with -msse

truckythink, thanks for the test builds. These do not run on my system (win 8 x64), seems like i'm missing cygwin dll's as I don't have it installed.
Can you build with static linking? (not sure I'm saying this right)

Cheers,
Myagui

Mehh! Fair enough. Waiting, really want to see RIC support expanding to pools-that-are-not-ypool, so will be testing as soon as Gatra posts the official goodies later on!
Thumbs up,
- Myagui

I think this is definitely a smart idea. The last thing you want is to lose your miners as they chase hashrates from an optimized miner for another pool.

Wish I knew how to code to help you all out. Unfortunately I have no idea how to do it.

But I can support you by using your pool and donating when everything is up and running. I'll definitely switch from YPool.

If you are going to leave your BTC on an exchange please send it to this address instead 1GH3ub3UUHbU5qDJW5u3E9jZ96ZEmzaXtG, I will at least use the money better than someone who steals it from the exchange. Thanks Wink

What are the benifits of switching out of ypool to these "open source" pools?

Isnt ypool good enough?

what would other miners/pools do to benifit us right now?

For the individual miner, the benefits may not be so obvious, except perhaps lower fees depending on the pool. For the long-term health of the coin, though, and the long-term value of the coins you are mining, the benefits are immense in terms of supporting the decentralization of the coin and strengthening the network against a possible 51% attack.

Ypool is good - but even jh00 would tell you having just one pool is bad for any coin. I know, for example, jh00 was delighted when a new MTS pool opened up last week and even went so far as to encourage his own miners to switch pools.

1. Prevent 51% attacks
2. Lower fees
3. Decentralization
4. Open Source

So essentially this is bad for short term (as more people would then mine and we wouldnt be able to mine as much as the share increases with everyone mining) yet good long term because the value of coin increases because now there is a greater marketshare of coins from everyone and not just 1 ground.  Is that correct?

Fees:  ypool charges fees how? (I mean I do not see any fees in general or is it hidden within?)

would someone explain what a 51% attack is and where it comes from?

This is not necessarily bad for short term. If the network hashrate increases, I would say this is a good thing. But, this doesn't make the hashrate go up in and of itself.

Quote

ypool takes 2% away from your earnings.

Quote
would someone explain what a 51% attack is and where it comes from?
A 51% attack is where an entity confirms transactions involving double spending of coins in their blocks, and the entity finds blocks faster than the rest of the network. The network automatically accepts blocks and if there is a tie it accepts the first block to have another block built on top of it, and so on until the tie is broken. So, with 51% of block solving capabilities, one is able to make the network accept transactions involving double spending coins.

found a bug in stratum-mining!
when a user submits a block, the share is rejected and it's not shown in the pool stats or the wallet Sad

sorry to the brave early adopters, I'm working on it

Funny thing ... With only 4.6 BTC you can right now execute the whole visible sell book in MintPal and set the price to 0.00071 (which, according to me, is way-way-way too low).

I take it as a positive sign that RIC holders/miners are not dumping, showing trust to the coin and that the coin price is not manipulated by traders (whales, sharks and several other species of the aquatic kingdom).

If you take also into account that the coin has a developer that really cares for it and he is light years ahead of most of the guys out there that pretend been developers (please allow me that, I do not know gatra but it is my personal opinion on what I show so far in crypto-world), this can really fly.

And honestly, I don't say this only for the price, I mainly say this for the strong healthy community that can be built around this coin.

My heart belongs to RieCoin (RIC), my investments to BlackCoin (BC)
