To remove the 10% dev fee on b8 version just edit the binary using vi editor :
vi xptminer-sse4-b8
:,$s/RUhMA8bvsr48aC3WVj3aGf5p1zytPSz59o/Your_Address/ (ENTER) :wq
Are you sure this works? Ypool still reports a 10% fee for workers. You still pay it to your own wallet

Congrats on the release, a00k! This forces things a little. I've released the mostly-full-speed version of mine as a binary only for now because of the pool fairness issue. I'll release source as soon as we get that worked out: http://www.cs.cmu.edu/~dga/crypto/ric/It's labeled b9. Windows coming tonight. 9% dev fee today. I'll cut it to 5% in two days and to 3% in four days. Happy mining - now let's *really* find some primes. ("Mostly" full speed - I'm not crippling it deliberately, it's just not sieving up to 1b so that it will run on more machines. It's sieving up to 500m. I'll work on getting that parameter selectable from the command line soon.) -Dave

Quick update. Just notified the dev. on adding the Riecoin Foundation to the OP so people can see it better.

But it seems to be happy. Or did you mean the windows exe? I've now re-uploaded that one too but can't test it: d1b1ca3bb23d3f3dee8046daa3386afd xptminer-sse4-b9.exe (I think my filesystem filled up while uploading)

I am a note at this mining, only been doing it since January.
I have no problem paying the 10% fee. From my point of view I was only getting 4 sometimes 6 a day depending on the pool clock. I have already received 12 today using dga's miner. Sure I could have had 13.2 but without his miner I could have had 4 or 6.
It's a win/win situation for me. I get about double the coins a day.
DGA and everyone else doing these miners I say "Thanks".
You should see the greif people are giving Christian about his cudaminer for heavy coin. It is ridiculous. These people could easily keep quite and mine away and leave it up to us to come up with our own software.
I am just saying "Don't bite the hand that feeds you."
Sorry for the rant.

If you are going to leave your BTC on an exchange please send it to this address instead 1GH3ub3UUHbU5qDJW5u3E9jZ96ZEmzaXtG, I will at least use the money better than someone who steals it from the exchange. Thanks

To be fair, Christian set a dangerous precedent with Maxcoin. He kinda did it to himself.

I tried on a couple other boxen and they do the same thing. I rolled this test machine back to b8.

Did it run out of memory? Probably. I'll get a memory-detuned version up, but for now, try running with fewer threads. Actually, instead of that, I'm going to spend the time tonight letting it be specified on the command line - that's probably a better way to let people customize to their own boxes. Noted in the TODO. Btw, @miki - I hope you enjoy this one. :-)

why mine in a pool before the patch comes out? - People with optimized miners only search for shares, while you search mostly for blocks
- You get to pay 10% fees
- Your mining software is not as optimized as solo miners
Thanks, a00k for the optimized open source solo miner!

Did it run out of memory? ...Yup that's it. RAM usage has been low up to this point so I only had 4GB allocated. I set it to 8GB and it's fine now using 78%.

Thanks, a00k for the optimized open source solo miner! It's unlikely that there are too many shares going to share-finders at this point. The one I released is a block-hunter with absolutely no bias towards shares. Within a week, I suspect ypool will change its share algorithm to prevent share hunting anyway. Which means that it's fair. 9% dev fee for two days and then dropping. :p Have you benched a00k's vs mine? I'd love to know if someone does! It should be straightforward to take his mining core and put it into xptminer. But the real reason is the same for any pool and why people pay pool fees: It smooths out your mining and lets you get shares even when you've only got a few machines. The diff on Riecoin is about to go high and stay high. But I concur - thanks, a00k, this is terribly fun. I'm glad you poured some gas on the fire, and I've appreciated the chance to read your code. It's much more clean than mine at this point.
