Why we must study Economics at University?

In my university I saw economics, and it is clearly demonstrable that in many scenarios the economy tries to explain all the phenomena of speculation and inflation, of course that volatility was not contemplated as high as safe investment, as is the case with Bitcoin. (considered high risk) according to some books of economists.

But when a fractal is made in economies such as Venezuela, simply with the traditional economy learned in a university there is no solution, when we consider that Bitcoin works as a refuge value for this country, it is the perfect solution (this happens when inflation exceeds 1000% +), it is chaos, but Bitcoin in particular economies is the best solution. Nowadays, in some universities, like the Spanish ones, they are implementing Blockchain Education, this is an additional advantage because it begins a cycle considering the offer of Bitcoin's existing deflationary economy and cryptocurrencies.

We cannot survive in current society if we do not have knowledge about economics, most universities are required to teach economies to students in order to them to be financial literate. For those who want to become a trader then they shoudl focus on studying economics. Through studying, we can have a knowledge that we can use to make investment in different financial vehicle.

For me, learning about economics is very important, because my passion is in the business world.So I without a doubt majored in
business economics at university. Maybe for me who is still a student studying economics in order to have knowledge about the world
finance, can manage good finance. And also can understand about the business world, so when you graduate later you will plan
open your own business, at least you already have stock of knowledge. All you have to do is look for experience with lots of practice.

 I feel like maybe it could be a governmental trouble if we put economics in the school, sure at college level I can understand it and its mostly high end mathematics but when you talk about economics there is politics involved as well, just to give an example how would a socialist country work with economics, how would a democratic socialist one, how does a capitalist one, how does a communist one, these are all economics as well. Teaching kids economics at a very young age should be regarding "saving money" and thats the key stuff, postponing pleasure in order to have a bigger relief at the end should be thought at a very young age in order to stop consumerism but we shouldn't bring politics into economics too much as well.

This is just a part of the problem and it doesn't involve only governments and politicians but bankers too.
However, economy is not that simple as it might seem and  economy also changed as society changed and new forns appears. Also, you can't be an expert in economy without study and without insight into past of economy and all its forms, legal basis, rules and everything and that is something that University will give you. Also, economy is very tiight connected with other disciplines so to be good economists it's not enough to be involved only with economy.

Economics is taught in our schools, however it is disregard as an minor subject little do they know that economics is a very important branch in our society, mostly you could use it in real estate, currency and businesses. As long as supply and demand exist we can use this knowledge to gain leverage in the corporate society where it focuses on production, distribution and consumption of goods and services.

Didn't actually had a dedicated Economics course in college (took so IT) so it's mostly something self-studied here unless your major is related to the subject, like Business Management. Most of my little knowledge of it is from what I absorbed in media and blogs like Freakonomics.

I believe it's one subject that should be mandatory since grade-school, along with with logic.

Based on my experience and observation in my school, for me, economics is the first we learn since knowledge about the economy will contribute to the growth of country and people. And it's also important for the people and nation of all countries. So if the country is going to develop as well as the economy. If you want to learn the development of other nations, test the economy of the country first. If the economy is going to expand, other countries must link and invest the new business. Therefore, economic growth and development are important for people. The growth of people is therefore necessary for the growth of the country. But some country won't know how to make the economy better. There is no money in the economy. It's part of the land.

Yeah! That's the truth. We need to study economics so that we have a fundamental knowledge on how to spend our resources in best way and how to be a wise consumer.
I am an economics teacher and I am very disappointed because some students taking it for granted. They thought that they don't need to know about it and sometimes underestimate it. So, I always did my best to make it as reality as it could be. In fact, I introduce them also trading and some knowledge about stock market. So that their interests will boost up.

Here we've been taught about the Economy since when we were in elementary grade. It's important to learn and it should be taught at an early age. However, In university, this subject is limited to only some Majors, those who took science didn't learn this. Alternatively, they will learn by themselves or taking a course. There is no stable job in the world. In the end of the day we are going to take into business since that is the most invested that we really need after we work hard in the industry. When we are on the industry, we need to earn as high as we can because it will help us to start a business in the latter part if we do not have any job anymore.

Learning by yourself is the common thing now because it will save you money since the universities charge too much tuition fee for its students.

Plus, people are mainly distributed, some instructors aren't living in the same country's as ours. With this, economy of different country varies, leading to a different perspective we could formulate to apply to our own place. I beg to differ there. Schools may not teach you how to make money directly, like what to invest in and how to manipulate the market to max profit. But they teach you the instruments to real opportunities: macro and micro market influence on economics, global economic trends, and historic viable market instruments. With these you can determine on your own how to leverage the best out of school. And finally, basic demand and supply has all the answer you need to determine market value.

I never saw anyone in a top economic or financial position of a company that never went to school.

They don't teach much money because it is not in the curriculum and it is based on our government, so we must really be resourceful on our own, especially now that there is already internet, that we can rely on how to handle our money and fund wisely, we can also attend some seminars etc, a lot of ways, it's up to us if we want to study about money.

Junior at Uni, economics major here.

I'm sure my answer will leave some people with a bad taste in their mouth but for me Economics is the foundation for a master's in cryptocurrency. I can already hear the people in the back grumbling "you don't need a degree to learn crypto" which I agree with, but if I'm to be taken seriously at companies like LG, Samsung, Wall Street, or even the government level, it IS required.

Economics and I click too - I love learning the higher end of economics (morality vs econ) and how economics is so applicable to literally everything in our lives. I'm only beginning to take higher-end classes as a junior but I'm much more engaged in classes due to the fact its critical thinking and there isn't necessarily one perfect answer.

It is an interesting subject for those who like to calculate and trade. I really like studying economics because it fits my logic and is true of my passion. That's why I learn very receptive and can practice it very well.

The economy is useful primarily for understanding how the modern financial system of which works for many years. Each individual must understand what currency support is, and how the financial system is deceiving billions of people. How banks deceive billions of people, and how the financial stability of weak and medium-sized countries depends on the subsidies of the strong.

If you like to do business economically you can study economics, but there are many successful entrepreneurs who do not go to universities that they are rich from their own experience as well as their bravery so the need to study economics is not necessary.

Also because they didn't waste their time on study on how they can earn money. They only have hardwork and of course strategy in life on how they can get a profit. Specially they've focus only on what their goal from non stopping until they achieve what they aiming for.
